DVC 6th year Christmas Tree, Sharing a Little DVC Holiday Magic

We have been loving BCV tree #2. It is so nice looking. I noticed that the extra set of lights isnt working on the tree but the tree has enough lights without it. We love our present too. Thank you so very much. It has made our vacation very special:santa:

Wishing you all the best and a very Happy New Year:wizard:

Hi all,

I am confused about this tree swap thingy. I am going to be at BLT (hopefully) Dec 6-13 2009 and will be looking to sign up when the sign-ups open later in 2009, but I do have some questions.

How big are these trees? Are they live or artificial? Do lights and decorations come with? Already on? What is the tree ettiquette? Is there a cost?

if you can't tell, I am a planner:rotfl2: Thanks!

July is when you start looking for the thread to sign up for trees...

The trees vary in size from small table top, to 4 footers, all are artificail. If you scan the past 5-10 pages many of the trees have been photographed and posted here.

Lights for the trees and ornaments are provided. Some trees come out of the box decorated, some you need to decorate yourself. Most, if not all donors include lights and extension cords for your balcony.

Each person who uses a tree should put around $10 to defray the cost of shipping, both down and back up. Also tipping the bellman is customary too.

I think that's about it, in a nut shell. Just keep an eagle eye out for the sign up sheet :-)

We just returned from our trip last night.

VWL tree #2 was dropped off at Bell services at 9:20 yesterday morning.

Bell services was great, they knew exactly what I was asking about.

Thanks Jim and Tammy, it was a beautiful addition to our room :goodvibes:

Glad yall enjoyed it, and happy we could:goodvibes share

HI, Just checking in because I checked tracking on the pre-paid shipping label for SSR Tree #4 and ups system shows just the billing info received on Nov. 11th. I pmd DVCmommy, as well to make sure it was given to guest services, not bell services....

We're back, and we did ship BWV #3 tree back to us from the business center at BWV yesterday. Thank you for the extras that were put there for us and canwegosoon! Right now, our luggage, (with the gifts in them) is lost. However, we've been assured that we'll be getting it soon. Then, I'll be sending canwegosoon her gifts!

There was enough money in the envelope to ship the tree back...THANK YOU to all who shared the BWV Tree #3 this year with us!!!! I enjoyed reading your experiences in the memory book!

Bobbi (and Tom):goodvibes

Sorry to hear about your luggage Bobbi:scared1:

Glad there was enough money to cover shipping ... it's the least those of us who enjoyed BWV #3 could do as a thank you for lighting up our holidays:rotfl:

We're on our way to New Orleans now.
BWV #2 tree is all packed up for RobMags and his princesses.
We might be short of packing tape but FrontDesk said you can use theirs:thumbsup2 to pack up and ship.

I hope you all had as great of a trip as we did. :wizard:

Thank you Maribell for the special treat my DD just loved it.
It was so nice to read about how others had a Magical vacation.
That was very sweet and thoughtful of you.

Happy New Year

I just shipped LIFERBABE your tree AKL #2 from the BCV business center.
while i was there, i saw the BCV Tree #2 at the BCV business center, ready for the post office to pick up.

uh oh......SSR tree #4 is still not shipped home and haven't heard from dvcmommy....

The BWV #2 box of ornaments (brown square box) arrived today-that was fast; but not the box with the tree in it. Maybe they will bring it tomorrow. Was there a tracking number?

I am in the same boat sort of... My tree was suppose to be sent home Dec. 23rd, but no tree yet. The last person on my list didnt get a tracking number for the boxes, so who knows where they are. I guess it has only really been 8 mailing days so I am not freaking too much, but I sure wish they got a tracking number.

I did a pre-paid label and I have a tracking number but all it is showing is the day I entered the billing information. That tracking number has not entered the ups scanning stream, yet. No movement.

Has made it home, thanks to all.....have not open it yet, but the poor box :confused3 has looked as if it went thru another war then when I got it down at Disney after Fedex lost if for most of my stay :rotfl2:

seems that it was a rough year for all of our trees..:lmao:

We just came home this weekend as well and we had the BWV #4 tree from Lisa TSnell. We loved the tree! It came with all sorts of ornaments that were clowns and shaped like candy and cupcakes for the Boardwalk Bakery and candy shops! It even had a star on top! And also a Christmas tablecloth which we used to cover the table that the tree was on. Also, Lisa included a gift bag with candy, stickers and hot chocolate mix which DS and I enjoyed on our balcony watching the fireworks on NYE. There is also something for you from us in Chicago when you get your box. I just checked UPS and they did pick up the box. Unfortunately the box with the tree was completely destroyed, but I carefully packed all of the lights, ornaments, etc and shipped those down in the second box.

Lisa- do you know if UPS is going to reimburse you for the tree? I feel really badly about leaving it behind. :sad2: There were chunks of rock or cement in the bottom of the tree box. I thought that was weird...wonder how it got in there?? Please let me know when you get the box with ornaments back and let me know if there was enough money to cover the shipping both ways. We really loved having the tree and it was a real surprise for my son. It really made our holiday stay more festive! Thank you again!!:worship:

I'm happy everything went smoothly! I tried to find Disney and Boardwalk ornaments for the tree. There was a "whole-lot-a-ebaying" going on.

After all the mess, I'm happy just to get the ornaments and lights back. UPS is, supposedly, going to reimburse me for the tree. It would probably cost more to ship it back than replace it.

Laura,

Just wanted to let you know that the two boxes for BWV Tree #1 were sent out on Saturday morning. I have been sick (literally sleeping in bed) since the day we left, so my sister was the one who actually sent it out. If you don't get it in the next couple of days I'll ask if she got a tracking number.

We really enjoyed the tree and decorations. There was a little problem locating it the night we arrived (they insisted it was not there) but the front desk in the morning were able to find it. Once we got it all set up, everything was great! Unfortunately we could not get the swag lights to work - not sure if it was the lights or our outlet, but you might want to check on it. Our "neighbors" must have been Disers too because they were all decorated, so a big wave to the 5th and 4th floor folks with a boardwalk view last week!

Thanks again to everyone for your hard work - we hope to get to participate again soon!

(((Kylene))) Sorry to hear your feeling ill.

Sorry the balcony lights didnt work. I think another DISer mentioned the bottom was out, I guess the rest just went kapute. I will replace them for next year.

And OT but is that Clay Akin in your avatar?
