An idiots outburst at Magic Kingdom

Your frigonly pardoned Wallyb:rolleyes1 I was just poking fun no harm intended but it is interesting hearing all the northerners who move down here complain about how great it is up there but they all seem to be moving down here:confused3 must be homkesickness kicking in. Maybe they forget about shoveling snow after a few years who knows.

Sometimes I forget that there are definite advantages to living in Chicago (especially in the winter). We had our parade Sunday and there were protesters, about 15-who didn't look like locals, compared to the bajillion spectators. The were confined to a tiny area and surrounded by police. Counter protesters gathered in front of them and had a MUCH louder megaphone so no one could hear their hate. They had signs that rambled and rambled... really haters try to be more concise when you have a message.
Honestly I blame the media (a very specific group of media) who make these people believe that spewing their bile is OK and even their duty. :sad2:

Southern Hospitality means people are the nicest you'l find.

Until you turn your back.

I grew up in Chicago and lived and worked in diverse areas so it was a huge eye-opener to me when we moved to FL. Having only previously come down to visit Disney, I forgot that it's still "the South." Besides always having them try to poison me with sweet tea, I've been appalled at the prejudice I have witnessed over sexual orientation and race. Thankfully it's not like that (mostly) right here in my town because most of us came here from elsewhere and are used to diversity, but when I get out in the sticks it downright scares me.

Um hello.......Nectar of the gods! :)

OMG! Sweet TEA!!! EEEEEEUUUCH! :teeth:

Yep, snow is what drives many away. Some of us didn't get much of a choice, it was a health related issue for me.

If I could tolerate the cold and didn't have these issues, trust me. I'd still be in the frozen north. ::yes:: That is NOT to say that I haven't seen and experienced homophobia there, not by any means.

I agree with you! I HATE unsweetened tea with a passion!...Don't get me started

I drink unsweetened tea by the gallon. I've actually got some with me right now :)

Hey brother -- (raising glass) -- me and my unsweet tea (with extra lemon) salute you!!! :goodvibes
And I salute both of you! Unsweet with lemon is the only real tea.

Nectar of the Gods...that would be the Yin and Yang drink at the Melting Pot.

I had a similar experience as I kid. We lived in Boulder, Colorado (about as liberal as it comes--at least back then it was, it is much more conservative now--but still pretty darn liberal )from the time I was old enough to be in school. When I was 12 I went back to spend the summer with my grandparents in the little East Texas town my parents grew up in. OMG:eek: I had KNOWN their was a lot more prejudice there than what I was used to but I was still stunend at just how much totally open racism/homophobia existed:sad2:

So, DH agrees with you--Nectar of the gods (well, that and Amerreto, and some wines, and . . .). Funny he is born and raised in Colorado and did not know about sweet Tea until I took him to Texas.
I take my unsweetend with lemon and tons of ice. If it was brewed more than about 6 hours ago it is too old:rolleyes1 I am very picky about my drinks. Here is a typical restruraunt conversation for me:

Waiter: Something to drink?
Me: Do you have Coke or Pepsi?
Waiter: Pepsi
Me: Okay, is your iced tea fresh brewed or from a fountain?
Waiter: Foutain.
Me: OKay thanks. I'll have ice water please.

Drive's DH nuts:lmao:
