I hope no news is good news about Dawn.

So I'd like to introduce you to the newest family member, Laurel (her name given at birth)/ Almond (our choice). They named her Laurel because they found her mom when she was pregnant on Laurel Canyon.

We are L-O-V-I-N' our new kitty, Spikey. He is so full of love and is such a mischeif-maker. He is into everything!

Thanks, Linda. She's super sweet and very agile like a cat She's pretty skittish which surprises me because she was in a house with 3 other dogs, one of them being a big lab. She was VERY hungry and devoured her food really quickly. We're wondering if she was underfed or if she had to wait after the other dogs until she could eat. Loud noises make her jump. She loves to climb on all the furniture (a big no-no with my mom) and even jumps on us but she's so light that we barely even notice
I just love that she will let us dress her up. Right now she has a pink sweater on.


What worries me is that she is 4-5 months old and has NO vaccinations and is NOT fixed. We're taking her in Wednesday for her first set of shots and then after she gets her second round of shots I'll schedule her spay.

Bree--that is so awesome! You are talented!

No real news on Dawn--Sally emailed me earlier today and did say that her lung function had improved slightly. They are trying to get her off some of the machines and medicines so they can take her for a CT scan (I guess she can't get in the machine with all the stuff she's hooked up to).

So I am staying positive and already thinking about taking her to WDW when she is better.

Cristabel--your puppy is so cute--how big will she get?

well, personally, I prefer Italian operas. Much livelier and not as dark and ponderous. and usually better costumes! I am no expert by any means however~!

I've never seen an opera. Ever. Maybe I am missing out.

Did some Christmas shopping today. Feel like I am beating the crowds, although the stores were pretty hopping with business. That's a good thing.

Bree & I are going to Sea World tomorrow (we have annual passes). DH is staying home to rest.

Good to shop now. The closer it gets to Christmas, the stores are just a mad house.
Have fun at Sea World! I love it there. We used to go all the time when Ruben and I were dating. I miss it.

Cristabel - What a cute, adorable puppy! I love your new addition to your family. It makes me miss my dog that I had to leave behind in Denver with my sister because Bob has two cats that would not have co-habitated well with her. Enjoy and have fun playing with her! Love her sweater!

I'm relieved that Dawn is progressing, even if it's the slightest bit. No news seems to be good news.

We're not entirely sure what kind of terrier she is but we looked online and a number of dog sites say a small breed dog stops growing skeletaly around 8 months with adult muscle by 10 months. She's already between 4-5 months so not too much bigger. Her paws are pretty tiny.

I don't understand those things! It says keep warm and have your paws free. What do they need their paws for, typing?

If you can talk to the people who gave her away, you can get some info out of them. BTW, you did the right thing. Putting clothes on dogs actually makes them feel less anxious. Really.

Neutral is good. We'll take it! And write those things down. Just think of the massive "catch up" fest you'll have when she's back to her old self. A few glasses of wine, a comfy chair, and talking for hours on the phone.

Me too, Cheryl. Have you ever seen a Handel opera? This was my first. It had some beautiful music, some wonderful talent, and some fun ancient instruments (I have to look them up but two kinds of lutes I think). But mostly, it was picked because Placido Domingo wanted to play the showy role of the father.

And actually, the most lively opera composer was not Italian. Anyone wanna guess who?
