Cool, I must have missed that one... I'm betting on Thursday.

So you saw my "request", right?? And definitely after going through your very cool TR, I can see that you will definitely be the one to link them all together properly! :thumbsup2

All this talk about who's going to start the new thread..... I want to know who's going to get the last word in here. :cool2:

Well guys, my middle child turns 11 tomorrow. The theme he chose for his party this year is Lord of the Rings. He is crazy into that trilogy. Has been for the past year now. It sure was hard to find stuff to decorate with though... my DW is so frustrated by his "theme timing" since the films are like 6 years OUT of the theatres, and no party store has anything like that! There were some pretty cool things on eBay, but I was not willing to shell out that kind of money for party decs and cake topper stuff. My oldest turns 14 next month (Valentine's day) but has announced he's done with themes. Too old. Oh those very different stages, and when suddenly you're just "too cool" for some things.

In our house I'm the cake guy - at least I have been for the past several years while our boys have been into some cool themes. I enjoy cooking and am a creative type too, so I've had some fun with them through the years. We've done Indiana Jones, Star Wars several times, pirates, and Spiderman several times - now onto something new. I'm trying to find just the right imagery now to try and "recreate" for the cake. My wife found some cool action figures of the 4 hobbits leaving their homes on their quest for Mordor - so I'm going to do something along the lines of a hobbit hole, but not quite sure.

Just to share, here are some pics of the cakes I've done before...

The party's Friday night, and so after I'm done with the LOTR's one, I'll post a pic of that too.

I'm another one of those heated desk jockeys. I've also got at least another 30 years ahead of me.

Oh well, I do enjoy what I do most days. I just wished that my internet access was a little more open.

Stopher: You got some cake skills there. :worship:

Oh and as for the fishing, ice fishing is not fishing, its drinking beer in a cold hut. I'm not a fan. However, that hut from the Sportsman's blog might be able to change my mind.

Great cakes! Are you the Cake Boss by any chance?! :rotfl2:

Yeah, I'm in a union, too, and we have a 401K but we just don't seem to be able to save enough. Now, I'm looking at possible knee surgery, which has a nice deductible attached to it that will probably squash any vacation plans we might have had for this year. I'm not a fan of hospitals so I keep putting off the visit to the doctor. My DW is really trying to get me to go, though, so I guess I won't be able to avoid it much longer. Well, at least I have a job! :thumbsup2

What happens in the corn, stays in the corn...:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Coffee is now all over monitor....

Corn Fuzz is killing me this morning...

Ahhh, retirement, a short 15 years away:headache::headache:

That'll be 31 years of law enforcement for me----I think that's enough:goodvibes

Yep... got the request. I'm actually going through the other threads to see what other hot topics need to be linked :thumbsup2

HAHA! I must have missed that one. And yes... 31 years is more than enough for enforcing laws...

That sounds like the making of a good pool! My bets on zerfs.:thumbsup2

don, emmas dad was elected. were getting close, thursday or friday at the latest.

Then I guess I win :rotfl: :cool2:

I know there will be another but is anyone else a tad bit sad this thread is closing? {Hopefully this admission doesn't get me kicked out of the man club}

It has been a pleasure reading everyone's posts and it makes the time go by faster. March is just around the corner for us... we are just over 50 days away.:woohoo:

I was looking at the first post of the original thread and noticed it all started on 11/11/07. That thread ended on 07/06/2009.

DDII was started on 07/08/09 and will end any day now.....

So does this mean we just talk too much...:lmao::lmao:

BTW, I also noticed zerfs had the last word on DDI.

My money is still on zerfs! :cool:

No, being sad is OK.
Even if you said you cried, you can still stay in the club. We would never let you live it down and would make fun of you incessantly, but you could still stay!

Not only would you make fun of me on here but you can make fun of me in person when we are drinking a beer together in the World Showcase in March!!!! LOLOL :lmao:

I think it just means that workplace productivity has plummetted over the last 6 months.

I second....::yes:: :thumbsup2

Third!!!!!
:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

We did roll through this one didn't we.....So, whoever gets the last word has to drive the "Disney Dad's Minivan" on the road trip while the rest of us give him general instruction and direction----you know, like driving with your wife...:rolleyes:

My wife constantly gives me instruction when I'm behind the wheel---I guess the years of driving Highway Patrol Cars during pursuits, and all the driver training and experience I got behind the wheel of a Police Car don't count...:confused::confused:

One of the reasons I like the boat---I'm going fast enough where I can't hear her:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I keed, I keed I can hear her on the boat, I just pretend I can't:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:
