January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Just back from the coldest week in FL in over 30 years but we still had a BLAST!!!! I think the cold kept all the locals at home and we had almost no wait for just about every ride, got to do all of our favorites at least 2-3 times and sometimes didn't even have to get off! I will take the cold in exchange for no lines! We did get some great FL sun the last 3 days and enjoyed every minute of it!

DD absolutely loved CRT and BBB...was a great highlight of our trip! She also did her 1st BIG coaster, Expedition Everest at her request. She just passed the 44inch height requirement too! She loved it and did every other coaster/big ride that she could

By the end of the trip DS wasn't scared of the characters anymore, and was even waving Hi and Bye to everyone, even if they were on TV, very cute!

They had drained the moat the last day or so we were there, and the crane was taking down the Christmas lights, but before they did, we got some great pictures and got to see it all lit up!

Any questions, ask away ;) I will try to come up with some good tips...

Have a safe trip everyone! Hoping we do for sure-a few trips back-the night of MVMCP my 80 yr old mom missed the curb on the way out & fell-she refused the wheelchair & was quite uncomfortable for entire trip...

2 Sleeps and we'll be on our 10th Anniversary Trip...
(ticker is wrong);) All the planning, i can't believe it's almost here....
our Le Cellier and our O'hana ADR's are done other then that. We are winging it.... WE are going to all the Non-EMH parks!!!

:banana::banana:Can't wait!:banana::banana:

My tips & tricks:

- Try to make it to Rope drop at each park, give yourself at least 30-40min if you are riding the bus (so if drop is at 9am, leave your hotel no later than 8:20 am). In the 1st hour or so, we could get in 5-8 rides!

- If you want to see the Fairies, get to the Toontown rope at 9:30-9:40. Rope drop is at 9:45 even though they publish 10am. Do the Fairies first and then get back in line for the princesses. The line quickly gets up to 45min-60min. We saw Fawn, Tink and Terrance. DD was sad she didn't get Silvermist so we went back for a 2nd round a different day and still got Fawn, Tink and Terrance, oh well!

- Run to Toy Story Mania (DHS) 1st thing at rope drop and get a FP, then get another fast pass as soon as your time is up (it will tell you on the ticket when you can get your next one). This was one of the few rides that still had insane wait times.

- If you want the giant cookie/ice cream sandwich for a snack credit, only Main St. bakery in MK still offers it on the DP as a snack credit. Everywhere else it was a la carte ($4.19).

- We LOVED 1900 PF for breakfast buffet!!! Mad Hatter was awesome, my DD loved him. She was bummed that Mary Poppins wasn't able to make it but they subbed out Belle instead. Alice, Pooh, MH and Tigger all spent lots of time with each table.

- We also LOVED CRT!!! I thought it was worth it. We went for lunch and I had the specialty dish and it was delish! The inside of the castle was better than I thought it would be too. They even gave my DS his own meal of pasta even though he was under 3 and was supposed to share. We didn't feel rushed at all. The princesses were really sweet and had good interaction with my DD.

- DD loved her experience at BBB!!! Her fairy godmother was Susan and she was great!!! We were on a quick timeline to make our reservations at CRT and she moved lightning fast but didn't make it feel rushed!

- Don't count on Foto Pass to get all your pictures, we had at least 3 different group of pictures that didn't turn out and I got an email from Disney after I inquired about them saying that there was techmical difficulty and they didn't turn out. Next time, I will take pictures along side of them too! I do have to say that 95% of the pictures were great!!! I am going to buy the CD! You can get all sorts of special effect pictures at DHS on the main street when you enter.

- Try to avoid DHS on Fantasmic nights!!! It was the only park we had heavy crowds at.

- Great character interaction at Epcot, shorter lines than MK. A lot of them are tucked away by or in the shops in each country (Morrocco, France, United Kingdom, Germany)

- Princess and the Frog characters are tucked away in the gazebo way behind the Liberty Tavern and Christmas shop, kind of hard to find.

- DDs favorite restaurant was Teppen Edo. It was her first time going to a Hibachi style restaurant and wants to go for her birthday in a few weeks.

I think that is it for now...if I think of more, I will let you know

:banana::banana: 11 days 266 hours. We're leaving on January 29th for "buy 4 get 3" 7 days at WDW. Can't wait!!!

7 days to go for us!! I either got food poisoning or a good dose of stomach flu. Just now recovered. Sure hope and pray my husband and son don't get it. Icky.

Yay, looks like the weather is going to be nice for our trip. Still trying to decide fleece jacket or light windbreaker type coat. Does 70's sound too warm for fleece. I'm thinking of leaving the fleece at home. The plan is to pack all short sleeve shirts with a light jacket. Maybe both jackets! Ha!

Hope everyone is having loads of fun on their trips!

Packing on Tuesday while kids are at school. This is a surprise trip, can't believe it hasn't gotten out:cool1:

I would pack both because even though 70s are warm (23-27 celcius) the evenings might still be a bit chilled at 50 if there is wind?? I am packing fleece.
6 days for us!! But we might leave a night earlier (on Friday) and drive to Bangor (3hrs away) then head to Manchester the next day (another 4 hrs)...then fly out Sunday. Hehe anything to get out of town sooner.

We leave on Friday for our week of magical adventures!! :woohoo:

Mostly packed, just last minute toiletries here and there. We stuck with jeans and short sleeves, and a fleece/sweatshirt for nighttime. Threw in some capris for me and DD, DH insisted on bringing shorts, and hopefully we'll make use of the swimsuits that "magically" appeared (wishful thinking on our part). We managed to cram it all in one checked-bag, but then we decided we were carrying too much in the carry-ons, so turned one of the carry-ons into a checked bag. Would rather DME deal with it, than us. We'll have enough to worry about, with trying to corral a 2 year old in a busy airport :rotfl2:

I don't know how I'm going to get through this week at work. :surfweb: Or what I'm going to do when I get back :sad1:

Wow so many of you packed and ready to go - I am feeling behind!
Does having the clothes picked out and sitting in the suitcase count as packing? :confused3 (lol).
I do my big full fledged pack the night before so I can be sure everything is in there, or else my OCD self would take over.

So I now have the task of getting those piles of clothes to fit into the case with room to spare for souvies.

We have picked out jeans, capris, and mainly those cargoesque pants that can be rolled down and then roll up as capris, short sleeve, and long sleeve for the layered look. I think I have selected too many clothes :rolleyes1.

I have my inventory list complete and only a few more things to purchase at the camera store and then we're good!

Oh don't get me wrong...I'm going to be going through this the night before, and even the morning of (we don't leave for the airport until around 1pm), just to make sure we don't forget anything. And I'm sure I'll throw in one or two long-sleeved shirts at the last minute because the 70+ degrees that they're predicting so far is to good to be true for my cynical, Chicago-weathered mind :rotfl:

The only packing I've gotten done is many of the kids' warm weather stuff, but I feel really behind! Still need to pack some good stuff in the carry ons (to keep children occupied) and do wash so we have some cooler weather stuff too, just in case. I want all of us to wear old clothes for the next few days so I don't have to worry about cleaning stuff to take last minute! :goodvibes

Three days to go!!!!!!!

ok, I just checked wesh.com and the highs for my days are going to be 80, 79, 78, and 80. Will we be hot in jeans?
