I was inspired by ZeroToHero and the many creative people on the Cricut message boards to alter my own ATG gun.
After countless hours of coming the internet message boards, youtube, and purchasing too much spray paint and too many rub-ons here is my gun and stand (also purchased off the internet)
I'll give you some tips as I go along.
First I removed the two wheelie jobs that hold the adhesive. I put these in a safe spot.
Next I used 1 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch painters tape to tape off the moving parts and the cover. One good tip I saw was to use your Creative Memories 1 1/4 inch circle punch and make a star in the middle to cover the mechanism posts on the inside.
Before:
Little did I know that after I taped the inside I left a wedge of the outside cover untaped You can sure tell from my picture here. Yeesh - wish I would have looked at my photos. Another internet search and I found that Pine Sol on a wash cloth and a little elbow grease can wipe that spray paint right off the cover! WHEW crisis averted for now
Next I spray painted the red part with Valspar Plastic Primer because the Krylon Lime Green I "NEEDED" was not 'plastic' spray paint.
Then I spray painted two coats of this great lime green paint, following the directions on how long to wait between coats. Let that dry for a day.
Next I wrapped the now green in wax coated freezer paper and untaped the outside of the cover. This is when I discovered my shoddy taping job
After a frantic search on the internet and a silent prayer for having Pine Sol in the house you can't even tell. I now painted the outside of the cover with one good coat of Krylon Make it Pearl! (Which I could only find on the internet) I wanted to be able to see how much adhesive was left but not be just plastic.
Drying:

Anyone want to see the gun now?
