Dennis has come down with a cold.:headache: I made chicken soup from some stock I had frozen for lunch. He needs to get better quick. He has a dental appt on Thursday and then cataract surgery on Aug 30. No time to be sick in the next month!!

, tell Dad to keep warm and get better. I know you will take care of him.

Some more medical issues.....this group is kind of scary....my DD was admitted to the hospital yesterday....she has a viral infection in her intestine and a serious infection in her colon....they were trying to treat it with antibiotics by mouth but it is beating her up so they put her in the hospital....doctor said she is pretty sick and will be in the hospital through the weekend.....it seems so many of us traveling have some sort of medical problem or tragedy in our lives.....thank God I do not drink......and thank God it is happening now and not 5 weeks from now since she will be staying here and taking care of the house and the pets......
Tom

Keeping DD in my thoughts.

That's very cool - I'm waaaay to disorganised for that. Tho' I did manage to co-ordinate my cardigan with my champagne cocktail at the Palo brunch last September... :rolleyes1

Love this!

Definitely recommend getting the lobster tails and combining it with the venison on Captain's Gala night for the poshest surf and turf I've had. We have all of the menus photo'ed and can post them if people want to see them.

Yum! Would love to see the villain's menu.

For all the Mac/iPhone/iPod and iPad users, would an iCal calendar, which both iCal and Google Calendar users can download, be a good addition to a pdf version of the Navigator? It would be very simple, just date/time/meeting place of the DIS events. The full details for events would be in Sarah's Navigator.

WELCOME TO ALL THE NEW POSTERS!

I can't believe no one has said this yet, but it's now

So, I hsvre been counting down, and getting excited... But I just realized that we are UNDER 4 WEEKS until we leave for Spain!!!

HOLY COW!!!

I need to get the guys busy! They are way behind!!!

I think I'm about to show my age here, but … I bought my first Mac in 1985 for over $5,000. It had a huge 1 MB of what was then called core storage (RAM), plus an enormous 20 MB of off-line storage (i.e., hard drive)! I've owned nothing but Macs since then – about 10-12 all told, including one of the very first Mac laptops sold. Considering I programmed my first computer in 1959 at the age of 9 years old, and have programmed IBM console mainframes in assembly language, plus a lot of other stuff since then, I vastly prefer the "insanely great" Mac over anything else I've seen (so far). Of course, I gave up programming a long time ago - too much like hard work - and I'm just a semi-educated user now. :)

So, Macintosh: Is there another way? (OK, here comes the "Mac vs. PC" storm. Get ready!) :rotfl:

See You Real Soon!
Richard

We're a MAC family too. I've been using one since I first started designing educational materials in the late 80s. I still have my first MAC SE from about 1988 (I'm dating myself) and it works perfectly and still smiles : ) at me when I turn it on.

I'm glad your daughter is feeling better. I know how stressful it can be to have a sick child in the hospital. I've been there and it isn't any fun.
Take care.

Paul

Hi Everyone- welcome to all the new people! This is definitely a fun group!

TChrist05 - I hope your daughter is doing well and feeling better. It is so painful to watch your children suffer.

Connie - I don't know if this will help, but if you go to Costco for the first time, you can tell them you would like to be a guest and you get to shop for free the first time. I believe they still do that. You might want to call.

Sue - I haven't caught up completely yet and I know you were talking about the martini tastings on certain days with certain groups. It doesn't matter to me what day or group. Don't even know if you asked, but thought I would offer my worthless 2 cents.:)

Angie - I hope Dennis is feeling better after your chicken soup. That usually cures everything!

Steffy - love the jail picture!

Tom,
So glad to hear that your daughter is doing better. Remember to take of yourself while others are taking care of her!

That is a great point Sue! By the way, if we are the only 2 on here, let's keep posting so when everyone logs on or wakes up, we will be on the new thread!!:rotfl2:

Not worthless at all!!! Thanks for weighing in. Most everyone is good with the smaller groups. DCL did say thathtey will do 2-3 of each seminar, and even more of wine. Wine was going to be based on different venues - so in the Med, Med wines, etc. I didn't get that as there are no grapes growing in the ocean, but hey, who am I to question Disney magic... :)they do hydroponics afterall... :lmao: Maybe there is something they are not telling us...

Be careful! There are plenty of us lurkers always hanging around!!!

:cutie:

Shmoo it is great to see you lurking. I knew that comment would bring out a couple of you! That is okay, I am going to bed. This after 11 thing just kills me every once in a while. GOOD NIGHT!!!

Thanks for that. Don't like too many drinks, but martinis are one of them! Didn't want to miss out on the fun! OK, now I am going to bed.

I've been lurking again...

I'm okay with smaller groups, although a big DIS group would have been fun...

I'm actually carrying my laptop to do the transferring on.
We always use SanDisk Ultras; tried some of the cheap ones and they either 1) just didn't work or 2) were slow to write. I shoot with a Nikon D50 SLR and sometimes (like in Alaska - bald eagles and whales) shoot 10-12 frames per second. The cheap cards just can't keep up.
I always shoot .jpg at the highest resolution. Our DD#1 shoots raw, but then she's a professional photographer! We also use Adobe Elements, unless we have something special we really want fixed up nice and then we give it to DD to do the full Adobe Photoshop treatment.

I have the bridge Canon, the G11. It's much slower between shots (1.7 sec), so write time is no problem. Looking forward to meeting you.

For you other Disboarders with Point-and-shoot cameras or all-in-ones, like mine -- as opposed to SLR shooters -- can get away with almost any speed of memory card. Basic card available now is Class II, much cheaper, but will be slower in cams that shoot multiple frames per second.

And I wrote that buying an extra card or two is "cheap insurance" meaning that after we have spent some serious money on cruise packages, it would feel awful :sad1: to get home with only the first three days' activities on record to keep our memories alive.

Those cards, batteries and film cost about twice as much aboard ship as on land, and the choice is much broader ashore. Can you believe $4 for an envelope with four Tylenol?:scared1:

SOme pixie dust sent your way for a speedy recovery for your daughter.

DO you know what type of equipment they have in the gym?

Welcome! Hope to meet you onboard. We are planning to meet up and go to the Magic Fountains in Barcelona on the 16th. Where are you staying?

We'd like to go to the fountains also. We're doing the tour that picks us up from the airport, but would be interested in going to the fountains later in the evening

Hi Bev - welcome! I think some people are going from the Praktik Ramblas (hotel) to the foundation on the 16th (though I don't know if anything has really been arranged for this formally?) and there is a meet on the 17th in the late afternoon at the Hard Rock hotel - check out the first couple of pages of this thread. There are also the incoming flight schedules so you could see if anyone is on your flight.

Have you looked at getting perhaps a 10 day pass with non-expiry and you could use it on your next trip?

I think we actually have two fountain meets in the works. One on thursday night (for the 8:30pm fountain show I think) and again on Friday, for the group that's meeting up at the Hard Rock Cafe first. We're also at Le Med, and hope to make it to the fountain on Thursday, but will try again on Friday if we don't make it that far (since we arrive early that morning.)

Regarding tickets, we bought 6 or 7 day tickets with Park Hopper and No expiration for our last WDW trip. I priced out all the options, and after 6 or 7 days, the no expiration cost became much greater. So we went with the 6 days which was still a pretty penny, but seemed pretty economical all things considered. We also purchased our tickets from Undercover tourist using the discount link in the newsletter the other agency sends out on the 15th of each month.

CarsFans is on the Madeira tour with EyeDisneyCruise in their van. Maybe you can PM EyeDisneyCruise to ask her about them.

Thanks. I don't need to contact them, just trying to determine if they're still coming or not. The search couldn't find any recent posts by them so I wasn't sure. I'm thinking about putting together gifts for the kids on the cruise, and was trying to figure out how many that would be for real.
