Kelly&Adrian 09/22/10- SBP/The Attic/HDDR/UK - Nominated for Best Dressed Attendants!

Sorry for the lack of updates - I'm trying to decide whether to do a full trip report or just a "wedding day" trip report, and until I do I just can't seem to get started on anything.

I obsessively check my email every day for my MK and EPCOT photo shoot pics...I just cannot wait to see them!

I'll be back eventually to start some kind of report....I think first I should organize the PJ a bit though...so maybe I'll start there.

Kelly, Cindy hasn't heard anything from her MK shoot either and she is getting really antsy. I can't wait to see your pictures.:yay:

Hey Guys and Gals - it's me, Kelly again....I decided to start my TR, which is sure to be an epic report, covering 17 days in total, with our wonderful and amazing Disney Wedding in the middle of it all. So here is how it's going to be broken down:

Part 1 - Wedding Week - Staying at BWV with one night at Poly
Part 2 - The Cruise - 4 wonderful days on the Disney Magic
Part 3 - The final 5 Honeymoon days - AKV Kidani and Jambo

Hope you'll all follow along as I meander back through what ended up being the trip of a lifetime - we had adventures, we laughed, we cried, we had a FANTASTIC time.

Here is a Recap

Wedding Date: Sept 22, 2010
Venue: Sea Breeze Pointe
Officiant: Rev. Jack Day
Brunch: The Attic
Entertainment: Caricature Artist and Guitarist
Dinner: HDDR
Dessert Party: EPCOT UK Upper
Planner: Amy Riendeau
Hair and Makup: Patricia LeJeune
Wedding Photographer: Randy Chapman
Disney Photographers: Amy and Daryn
Videography: Stan Severance

To start off my TR, I decided to move my wedding reviews here so that I could start with the wedding experience in general - then I'll move into the TR, and you can follow along with us on our day to day adventures at my favorite place in the entire world!

So I decided instead of traditional reviews and ratings (kind of boring because I'd give everyone A+) that I'd just take a few minutes to share my experiences with each group or person who was along for the ride with us...

Amy Riendeau
I seriously love her. I cannot say enough good about her, she is organized, calm, fun, has a great sense of humor, and made me feel like mine was the only wedding on her mind. She was able to create a magical day out of just a series of ideas in my head and did a bang up job of it. On my wedding day, right before I walked down the aisle I said "I haven't eaten since 4 AM, hope I don't pass out!" She literally ran and got me cheeze nips and a twix bar and pretty much fed them to me while my guests walked to SBP. She was simply extraordinary, and if she is planning your wedding I consider you very lucky.

Patricia LeJeune
Funny, sweet, and a magician at her craft. I gave her basically no direction and I could not have felt more beautiful. She did my hair and makeup at 4 AM and all I did was powder my face once all day - I still looked great at 9 PM during Illuminations. She also did a phenomenal job on my mom, sister, and the girls. She made us all look flawless, and did it with a smile.

Laura Kidd (and the Disney Floral team)
WOW - seriously I know nothing about these types of things (floral and decor are not my forte)...all I told Laura is that I like daisies and gave her the colors...I asked for a few things I had seen others use, like the ribbons on the SBP railings...she literally created this amazing vision that could have come right out of my own version of heaven...I know I'm gushing but this is honestly how I felt on the day, and still do today! From the ceremony floral, to my personal flowers (which bring tears to my eyes to look at in the pictures), to the decor at the Attic and DP, it was all phenomenal!

Amy and Daryn (Disney Photography)
I haven't seen the pics yet but I know they will be amazing. I was more nervous about photography than anything because I'm not photogenic, and hate having photos taken. They made me laugh, feel comfortable and above all gave us both great direction. We rushed through 2 parks in record time but I feel like the gave me everything I deserved for the money I spent (and this is without even seeing the photos). The MK and EPCOT shoots are so worth the money, not kidding - the experience alone was worth it. Amy knew there was one particular shot I wanted (a haunted mansion spoof that required some photoshopping). I had seen the one on the facebook page and wanted something similar but not the same. She and 3 others worked through the afternoon of our wedding to surprise me with a print of it at my DP!! It was the most amazing gift ever, and turned out fantastic (I'll add it here when I get them online).

Randy Chapman
Again, amazing. He has a totally different style than Amy but he is just such a darn hard worker!! He snapped pictures literally constantly - he almost wore us out! I have only seen 35 of the pics but they are breathtaking...it's hard to believe it's us in the pics!! I gave him no real direction as to what shots i wanted, he gave me some that are classic "Randy shots" but many that felt very new and unique - I can't wait to see them.

Stan Severence
The great thing about Stan is that I barely noticed him!! I didn't want the whole thing to feel like a spectacle, and that's why I didn't want video at first - so glad I changed my mind...the sneak peek is amazing. I can't wait to see the "real deal"!

I would hire both Stan and Randy again in an instant!

Reverend Jack Day
He is such a sweet man, and carried off our ceremony with sense of humor and a deep down kindness...he was so great to have there...we didn't have a rehearsal so having someone who knew the drill was great!! I didn't get to spend much time with him because he literally bolted out to do another wedding right after!

Disney Catering Staff/Bakery
Fantastic - the food was great and so was the service. Everyone was raving about it. The cake is one of my favorite "moments" of the day. We walked into the Attic and everyone was clapping and cheering, and then I saw the cake and it was like time stopped. I just walked in a daze right over to the table and gawked at it...it was breathtakingly beautiful...and then we cut into it, and it was simply the best cake I have ever tasted, no joke!

Miscellaneous
To sum it up, there is nothing at the end of the day I would have changed. I cannot do a Wish I had/Glad I did list because it makes no sense, I loved our whole day.

So hopefully you'll stick with me as I go through this process....we'll have a good time, I promise.

Oh and for you foodies out there, I am also doing a dining review report from this trip, linked in my signature - check it out for pure, unadulterated food porn!

Sounds like you had an amazing wedding. I'm so glad you enjoyed working with Amy from DPS. That's the one area where I'm really nervous, and she's my photographer. I can't wait to see the pics (especially your Haunted Mansion one!) and read all about the trip...and I'm one of those foodies. I'll definitely check out the dining review.

My alarm went off at the “oh so pleasant hour” of 3:45 AM after approximately 5 hours of sleep. It’s a good thing we left when we did, because I did some pre-trip shopping the day before and I’m really glad I didn’t have more than a day to do damage - I was in vacation mode, and spent way too much money! Although in my defense, MAC makeup is very important when on vacation (you should read some sarcasm into this….as vacation is the one time I NEVER bother to put on makeup).

I also bought a great backpack to carry my laptop in, which was actually something important to our travels - it really came in handy! And since the store was having a BOGO sale, I got a handy fanny pack too! Now I have a theory about fanny packs…the only place they are at all OK to wear is Disney. Adrian was a hard sell on this fact, but since I bought him a great new fanny pack we came to some sort of agreement throughout the trip…he carried our goods during the day in the parks, and I carried my purse in the evenings to dinner (and back to the parks if we went).

Our Luggage and My Dress all packed and ready to go:

So anyways, back to the “leaving for the airport” part of this trip report…we got picked up by an executive towncar service that my workplace uses, because ironically enough they only charge $5 more than a regular cab costs, and the cars they use are much nicer…it made for a great start to the trip.

We hung out with family in the airport for an hour or so waiting for the flights, and then boarded the plane. It was Adrian’s mom’s first time flying, and she did GREAT! She wasn’t nervous and she really was like a professional traveler! She said after we got there that she actually really liked flying, even the turbulence (the second flight was quite turbulent, the first was super smooth).

We arrived at BWV at around 3 PM, in time to check out our rooms (2 Standard View Studios), get unpacked, and shower up for dinner. I bought Adrian’s parents a welcome basket with some fresh fruit, mugs , and coffee in it to make them feel welcome and special on their first Disney Trip. Disney Floral is amazing…the basket was beautiful and they had it there waiting for us to pick up when we got checked in!

My owners locker was also there meet us, as well as our groceries (I ordered from Garden Grocer for both rooms). Using both the grocery delivery service and Owner’s Locker was a tip I learned on the DVC boards, and it’s so handy!! I stocked up my Owner’s Locker back in June when I went for my planning session with all of the toiletries that we’d need, plus things like cereal bowls, sharp knives for bagels, etc etc….

From Garden Grocer I was able to get cereal and milk for our rooms, yogurt, bagels, and a few other basic goods for much less that a car would have cost (plus I don’t like leaving the resort unless I have to). I also ordered cases of water for our rooms, which was a GREAT idea! We brought some on the cruise and everything – such a good plan – water is so expensive on property, and I find I don’t’ bother drinking it unless I have unlimited access…weird, I know…My mom and I paid $40 for a case of water on the cruise last year, this year I got 4 cases for $8 a piece!

Anyways back to the resort for a moment – here are a few pics of our room:

At around 5 PM we took off for our reservation at Tutto Italia. If you want to read a full food/dining report on any of the restaurants I mention in here, I started a dining review on the Restaurants Board – it’s linked in my signature.

After dinner, we walked to the front of the park to ride Spaceship Earth (his parents first ever Disney Ride – they loved it!!). We then wandered back out to the back of the park to walk back to BWV during Illuminations (we didn’t try to catch the show because for one we were too tired, we also knew we were having the Illuminations Dessert Party for the wedding day).

My absolute favorite part of staying at BWV was being able to walk to and from EPCOT, it is just so cool. Out of all the resorts we stayed at, on this trip and others, Boardwalk is our favorite for sure…the rooms are “light and airy” feeling, the area is beautiful, Boardwalk Bakery serves up amazing lunches, and we also like the pool better than any other resort. It was an amazing place - I don’t know how any other place will ever stack up now that we’ve tried Boardwalk!

By the time we got back to the resort we were totally wiped out. We all retired to our rooms to get rested up for Day 2 – Magic Kingdom Day!!

Kelly, I'm so glad you said it was ok for a fannypack for Disney. Everyone always makes fun of me but I always wear it there. I can get alot in it and I hate to carry a purse. I like my hands free for other things like Dole Whip. I am enjoying your reports. Can't wait for the next one.:cool1:

totally agree on the fanny pack thing! altho hubby wears it not me! lol

we stayed at the airport hilton in april, so we didn't need to get there as early as you guys. it was a beautiful hotel and saved my sanity with the kids being up so early.

Can't wait to hear and see more pics. Im sure you super busy so I can wait patiently popcorn::

HAHA - That's a great reason to keep your hands free! Dole Whips are definitely a 2 handed treat.

Thanks for reading :)

I live right downtown, and like to sleep in my own bed - we have tried to hotel thing before, but I don't get any sleep doing it that way.

I will be posting lots of vacation pics, unfortunately I can't post my professional pics until next month (I don't have them yet) because I want to keep them as a surprise for my at-home reception, and some of the people attending read this!

On the topic of pictures - my MK/EPCOT shoot is online...they turned out breathtakingly beautiful! Amy and Daryn did an absolutely amazing job. I don't have the CD of pics yet, but they are now online - I LOVE them!

I woke up bright and early, and went for a quick workout in the gym (I LOVE the gym at BWV) - then ate breakfast on my patio:

Here's a few pics we took on the way to MK - I always take photos in front of room numbers for some weird reason:

I LOVE the small Disney Details in BWV! Here are a few pics of the awesome Rug:

We rolled on into Magic Kingdom in time to get a good place for the morning show…around 8:30. We were trying to coordinate through text messages to meet up with my mom, my sister, and their travel partners…my sister texted me and said they would be a few minutes late…we ended up meeting them in Fantasyland (it’s always our first place to stop).

The MK morning show is one of my favorite Disney Experiences…not sure why. It’s a combination of the excitement of the whole crowd, the characters, the song, and the countdown, basically everything! I just love the feeling.

It was hard for us because we had first-timers with us…so trying to rush back to Fantasyland and do all those rides first was difficult. Adrian’s dad is huge into photography so we stopped for a few pics along the way, and then headed through the castle and into Fantasyland. I love taking first timers to Magic Kingdom, because it truly is an amazing place. Although Fantasyland is pretty torn up right now, all of our favorite rides are still there, so we made due! We rode Winnie the Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, and saw Philharmagic all in quick succession. This is why it’s important to go early – we were out of there by 10 AM…and if you go into Fantasyland at 11 AM all of the rides have 45-60 minute wait times! I love our method…Anyways, then we headed over to Haunted Mansion, and then my sister went ahead and got us all Fastpasses for Splash Mountain. While we waited for our FP time, we went over to ride Pirates of the Caribbean and had a Dole Whip (it was his parents’ first Dole Whip – pretty exciting situation in my opinion).

Here's a Group Shot when we all met up:

And one of me and my mom-in-law:
DSC026581.JPG

We then headed off to Jungle Cruise, which I know they’d love because his dad is the king of the corny jokes and puns…he could work on the Jungle Cruise! It was a great trip, with a great skipper…We then headed back over to Splash Mountain, which they loved (I can never get enough of Splash Mountain). By this time we were starving, and headed to Columbia Harbor House for lunch, then mosied our way out of the park.

We went back to the resort, his parents had a nap, and we went for a swim. The pool at Boardwalk was fantastic – it was one of our favorite things on the resort (also Adrian is HOOKED on the idea of being able to get free movies!). The waterslide is fantastic, and the temperature was relatively cool, which we loved! For some reason, although it’s not a huge pool, it never seemed overly crowded either.

We then headed over to Whispering Canyon Café for dinner, we did the Hokey Pokey twice, and then after dinner the fun started. They brought us homemade chef hats that read “bride to be” and “groom to be” and made us stand up and dance while the whole restaurant sang “You are my sunshine” and then kiss for 10 seconds while they cheered us on (which is very difficult to do while keeping it restaurant appropriate). Very funny, and of course my family captured it all on video…

Here's us in our Chef Hats:

And us goofing around at MK:
DSC026711.JPG

We didn’t realize it until too late, but Wishes was a 8 PM, so we missed it – but we went to MK for a while anyways, rode the TTA (People Mover) and then headed back to the resort for some much needed sleep.

Up next, DHS and EPCOT.

The pictures are great. Grrr I don't know if I can wait to go!!!! haha

I can't wait to see more pics as you are able to post. And here more of your wonderful trip. :yay: It's always nice to live through your trip until mine comes up. :thumbsup2

Wow, we have so many similarities. BW is my favorite Deluxe resort so far. I want to try other places (we're at the Poly in Nov.), but there is something special about BW that you picked up on, too. Some people are afraid of clowns, and thus don't like the pool. But one of my little boys thinks that the BW pool is the best one at Disney! So, no clownaphobia here.:clown:

Going to Fantasyland first is always our first destination as well, for the same reasons you gave. Then off to Frontierland for HM, SM, BTMR and PoC. I, too, can't get enough of SM. It's one of my top favorites. Zippidy Do Dah!

I can't wait to see your wedding pictures, I'm sure they are gorgeous.

Aw - thanks so much - I'm just glad i still have a few readers left!! I hope i help you to pass the time till your next Disney Adventure!

We may just stay at Boardwalk on our next trip, I haven't really decided yet...I'm very torn at the moment with wanting to try BLT and sticking with the one we know and love!

Thanks for reading!

Here we are before we left the resort for the day - I love this picture!
DSC02684.JPG

We started out our day at park opening at DHS…It was my 3rd day in a row keeping up my daily workouts by the way…I was quite excited! We met up with most of the people coming to the wedding, including my best friend who had flown in from Maine the day before.

Here we are:
DSC02688.JPG

We normally start out with Tower of Terror and Rock-n-Roller Coaster, but some of the people travelling with us are not “roller coaster fans” so we headed right over to Toy Story Mania instead. We waited for a while even though the park just opened (I’m shocked at exactly how busy TSM is all day long), but it was well worth the wait – I LOVE TSM, and everyone else did too.

Then we got our pics with the Green Army men!!
DSC02702.JPG

DSC02687.JPG

After we were done we waited in a VERY long line to see Buzz and Woody (my BFF really wanted a picture for her nieces)...I pressed the red button on Buzz's chest - apparently that's the off button...
DSC02696.JPG

But we fixed him!
DSC02697.JPG

After this, we headed over to Starring Rolls for a quick snack, and then headed to the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.

Now Adrian and I have been 3 other times to see Indiana Jones, and he always tried to get picked as a volunteer….this was his year!! He got picked as one of the “screamers”…I was so excited for him! It ended up being such a great show, because it was just so special that he got picked…

Here he is, in the show!!
adrian.JPG

On our way to the next stop, we had to take another of the "Kelly Traditional" photos - we take this same shot every trip...lol
DSC02704.JPG

And then a new discovery for me - I have NEVER seen these statues - I don't know how I missed them!
DSC02714.JPG

After this we decided to hit The Great Movie Ride, which everyone loved. We were already pretty tied at this point and it was close to lunch, so we decided to head back to the resort…my mom and step-dad joined us for lunch at BW Bakery which was fantastic as always! Then we hung out around the resort and went for a swim and relaxed for the afternoon.

We headed over to Teppan Edo for dinner – we left early to give Adrian’s dad time to take pictures and we could take it pretty easy…we had covered a lot of ground in our first 2 days! Dinner was great – we actually had the same chef as last year…it was awesome! He was really funny, and a great chef!
DSC02730.JPG

After dinner we decided to go ride Soarin – we made it just in time! It was one of my favorite rides…Adrian’s mom isn’t really that into rides, and it was kind of hard to tell up to this point what she thought of Disney in general…I sat next to her on Soarin’ and she was so funny – she LOVED it!! She kept saying things like “Oh my, it’s like my feet are going to get wet!” and “Oh – smell the oranges!” – it was great…

Up next - the pre-wedding day!

Very nice pictures. And it sounded as though you were able to relax some also. I am afraid that we will be on the go that we will not be able to enjoy the AKL as we wanted to.

Yes I am still going to live through you until my big day. It seems so far away but yet so close. And I don't want to rush the day but I want to be at Disney :cool1:

Do you go to Disney every year?

We did try to take it easy some of the time - Disney Vacation Club has kind of changed my mentality - I find it easier to chill out knowing that the next trip is around the corner.

We try to go every year, but I'm sure we'll run into times we have to skip a year. Ideally my goal eventually is to take a 7 day cruise around February or March every year and a Disney Trip in August or September...we'll see!

It's always nice knowing when your next trip is. I mentioned doing a cruise, but DF is hesitant. Maybe one year. And we always go in Dec., again maybe one year we can try Halloween time. I hear that is a great time.

When is your reception here at home?

November 13th in Yarmouth. My mom didn't have any real desire to try cruising, until we did - now she LOVES it!! It's a more forced relaxation type of trip - great for people who aren't naturally good at relaxing!

Love your report and I am VERY impressed that you stuck with the gym while on vacation :)
