As a family who is usually controlled by the school calendar for taking trips we decided to take advantage of the lengthy time off during the Christmas Holidays to travel to Disney.
The Cast of Characters (Edited from our PTR found here) (Christmas) Lights, Decorations, Action - A Post Christmas PTR
Me-Marv (51) Disney Fanatic, member of the DIS Dads Club, and (over)planner extraordinaire
DW-Alison (age; not going there) enjoys going to Disney, but leaves the planning to me
DS21-Matt college senior
DS18-Jon just completed first semester of college
DS13-Drew 8th grader, loves everything sports, especially soccer
Here we are during our trip in 2008
We normally travel to Disney during the very hot summer months, but we made a similar Post-Christmas trip two years ago. We ended up taking DS13s BFF on that trip for his very first Disney visit, so we didnt get to enjoy the lights and decorations as much as we had originally planned. This trip the priority was to soak up the atmosphere of the Holidays Disney-style.
Since we are DVC members and know we will be back again fairly soon, DW and I arent as concerned about riding any certain ride, or taking in any certain show this time around. Our DSs are old enough and responsible enough to tour the parks at their own pace, so their priorities are something completely different.
There will be lots of pictures (some taken especially in honor of some of my DISfriends), some dining reviews and even food porn for those who like to eat at Disney like we do. Mainly there will be lots of pictures of the Christmas lights and decorations, and some of the special entertainment offered by Disney during the Holidays.
Hopefully this TR will be both entertaining and informative for anyone who chooses to follow along. I hope it will be as fun for readers as it will be for me to share with you all!
