OK...so I finally got around to paying in full and logged in to book Palo. Much to my surprise there was no Palo Brunch options. I thought this was strange since only Platinum and Concierge can book so far (don't remember if they still do REAS).

Anywho, I called DCL and they told me something I didn't realize, not sure after 8 cruises how I didn't notice this, but they only do Palo Brunch on sea days. Since there is only 1 sea day it appears there is nothing left. :confused3

The DCL supervisor claimed that they don't hold back inventory for the different tiers (Platinum, Gold & Silver) which further surprised me. I would really love to see someone log in tonight and have availability. I honestly don't believe him, but hey maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Good luck tonight,

Jeff

I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) that certain inventory is held back?!?!

sigh

As first time DCL cruisers...I'm not holding out much hope that we will be able to get into Palo for brunch on the sea day or an early dinner on Pirate night (I don't want to miss any of the dinners in the regular restaurants, or anything different/special on our last night).

I will give it a try once we arrive at port. You can't book Palo/Remy until you get ON the ship right? Nothing you can do for it in the terminal.

Helen, your dogs are adorable! Especially Caleb! He has such a cute puppy face! What type of dog is he?

For those of you who don't know, WDW came out with free dining today, but it doesn't start until August 28. :sad2: I was hoping to get free dining because I thought it would be nice to have our meals at WDW after the cruise "taken care of" since they would be on the cruise itself. As of now, it looks like we're not getting any discounts at all. Now I'm thinking about not doing Remy like I'd originally wanted to because we'll have to pay rack rate for our room at Pop (which I still haven't booked yet... was waiting for a discount, but maybe I should get on that). Oh well. You win some and you lose some I guess!

That is pretty sad that they don't hold anything, not nice at all for first timers. :sad2:

I would also second Disney Studios. My kids have always loved it. Animal Kingdom is so large that we can never seem to do it in a day.

Thanks so much. :worship:
Unless we decide to make more relaxing day of it and just play and swim at POFQ on Monday, I think that Disney Hollywood Studios sounds like a good fit for our family.

So....we made some good progress over the weekend. Our TA booked us 3 nights at POFQ, and we purchased Transfers and travel insurance.

We still have a little left to pay off the cruise. Too bad since we are gold we are kind of wasting our early booking benefit. But we decided we didn't need to early book anything...Palo/Remy, Spa, and DCL excursions we are not doing.

Good luck to the Golds tonight though. Happy Hunting! :)

Well since I'm gold and your silver, can you try to get me Palo brunch tonight? Hey, asking is free isn't it?:confused3

From what I understand, they don't hold reservations for each group, but they do hold a large amount for "walk ups." I've heard they hold up to half of the reservations to be booked on the ship, so hopefully us non-Platinums and non-Concierge can get there early and get a reservation then!

Christine, I wanted an early Palo dinner on Pirate Night too, but I'd also be happy with a later dinner on the last night (after Believe). Hopefully we'll have SOME choice at 90 days out! And hopefully you have some at 75!

from my understanding, they only offer HALF at best of the reservations for Palo online. They hold back a lot until the cruise. Concierge guests will be able to book into spots upon boarding. Generally, after that first day, they will open them up and offer them up to guests on the wait list.

It is true that brunch is only on a sea day so there is only one for our cruise whereas there are 5 nights of dinners at Palo AND Remy. I just looked and there are plenty of online res available for those.

My point is that even though there may be no online brunch ressies to book now, about half of them will be up for grabs when you board the ship.

4 minutes to go ... I'm soooooooooooo tired

tried going to sleep but just kept tossing and turning

finger x

Ok

I got my Remy dinner (Friday) and I also booked a Palo dinner (Saturday):cool1:
I can't seem to get on to do the online check in - is anyone esle having probelms?

Booked Palo (Tuesday @ 7:30pm), parasailing on Tuesday and Catamaran in Nassau. Trying to check in online and it's not letting me :confused3

No brunch open but lots of dinners each night (and High Tea)

I managed to checkin online 10 am here in UK:cool1:

The first time for port arrival was 10.30-11 and I took it. :thumbsup2
(We have a town car picking us up at BWV 9am)

Just checked and there is still Palo dinners available and also Remy.

There were also some cabanas left on CC.

Am I right in thinking I wont miss a restauant as I scheduled Palo and Remy on the Thurs / Fri? Hope so x

Only problem with that is that by the time we are allowed to check in online the earliest boarding times will be after noon and we won't be on the ship in time to get any of the brunches. Speaking of which, has anyone heard how the boarding numbers are given out lately? I wonder if they will have it figured out by the time we are set to cruise.

Made our final payment today. It is finally seeming real. :woohoo:

Now, I have to wait until the 18th for online check-in. I am also worried about what arrival times will be left by then! I really don't want us to get an arrival time of noon or something. :sad2:

Latest I've heard is that they've been giving boarding numbers when you arrive, regardless of your check-in time (which is the way it should be IMO!). I want to get there early even if we get a later check-in time.

Has anyone been to the Hilton in Nassau. I was thinking about the Blue Lagoon beach day but, this looks very nice. I read all of the reviews and haven't found anything bad. It's a short walk from the pier and the price includes a $30 food and alcohol voucher per adult.

Any thoughts?

Wow, it does look nice and very affordable. I'm interested to hear more about this place too. It definitely is cheaper than any and all things Atlantis-related!
