QOTD: It's Father's Day weekend. What plans do you have for the Fathers in your lives?

DH is leaving early Sunday for a scout camping trip with our two oldest, so I just bought steaks to make a nice dinner tomorrow night!

My youngest and I have a graduation party luncheon on Sunday where I'll see my father-in-law and will be at my parents for dinner with my dad. We're extemely fortunate to still have all four parents with us and living in the same city :)

Both of our dad's and some of our siblings are meeting us in Kansas City this weekend to celebrate our son turning 1 last Wednesday and Father's day! Both of us were raised by our dad's so Mothers day is skipped over (grudgegrudgemumblemumble) but we do Father's day up big! I can't wait!

We got dh some gifts he will like and will make him breakfast in bed Sunday. I think he and ds are taking his dad to the car races on Saturday night and I'll be going to have dinner with my dad on Sunday night:)

I'm having brunch with my dad on Sunday. Of course the real celebration will be our Disney trip. :goodvibes

I thought 250 was the limit, but we're still here at 251. :confused3

It is, they'll close it soon enough. We need a new one :)

QOTD: It's Father's Day weekend. What plans do you have for the Fathers in your lives?

We're heading up north to visit with my in-laws. I'll be pretty worn out from the 20 hour drive the day before though so hoping it's low key. I'd like to get to church, have a nice lunch and fall asleep on the couch watching the race. :lmao:

We are going to brunch with one of my brothers and his family and my parents.

The girls will help me make dh breakfast/dinner on Sunday. Tonight we're going to a Canadian Football League game here as a family.

DH would like the same thing, only we don't have TV so no race. He literally said he'd like to do nothing. Big excitement here for Father's Day. :rolleyes1
The kids will make him cards and... Hey! I was just at the store and did I think to pick up a card...duh nope. Guess I will make a card too ;)

For the QOTD on Father's Day (oops, forgot to quote):
We will be spending the day at the Six Flags in our area (mostly the waterpark, if it's nice), and quite likely whining about how it isn't even in the same league as Disney and discussing how much better of a time we will be having on our vacation in August!! :lmao:

Joining in! Myself, DH, DS5, and DD3 will be staying at the BC August 23-30. Looking forward to planning with all of you,

Welcome!!! There's a few of us leaving on the 23rd, myself included. We aren't coming home until September 2nd though.

So.. is it time yet?
No?:sad1: I had another overwhelming moment of "I WANT TO BE IN DISNEY RIGHT NOW" while reading trip reports tonight. 70 days to go. Did I mention I am not very patient?:crazy2:

We are at the bc Aug 22-31. Wish it was time to be leaving now.

Me too! We've got 62 days to go... Maybe i should busy myself with making the autograph books, tshirts and of course packing lists!!! Lol

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone! I was thinking the same thing...maybe I should make my packing list, or make my tip envelopes, or do anything else I could think of to try to get the time to go by faster.

For my last trip I ordered a disney sun visor. I was able to customize it (color/logo etc). I would like to order one for my DD 11. But of course now I can't remember where I bought it. I thought it was from the Disney Store, but I'm not having any luck. I know someone here will know! Countdown is down to 39 Days!!!!!!

Good Morning everyone!:)

QOTD.. Do you plan on taking advantage of Extra Magic Hours? Do you like to start your vacation days bright and early or stay up very late?

I was looking at the park hours on the Disney site last night. I was shocked at how late some of them are! What generally happens is I plan my days around the recommendations of Touring Plans and EasyWDW. They usually recommend the best parks as the ones without EMH. So the parks I picked have regular open and close hours.
But when I saw the calendar, MK for example closes at 9 only twice in our 9 day trip. Every other night is 11pm, and on the weekends the EMH's go to 1a.m and 2 a.m.

My kids are older now, and we'd be fine to sleep in and do late nights at the parks but I don't know if it will mess with the advantage rope drop gives us. For example, will we even get to ride TSMM if I show up at 11? I don't want to stand in lines for hours because we chose to sleep in.

Decisions, Decisions. I think my family would prefer late night touring now, but it's so hard to let go of our rope drop plans.

I saw that the carousel was down...that's too bad because DD loves carousels...but we will live. :-)

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I am so bummed that the Carousel will be down. That's a hit with our toddler. And Muppets is always a great escape from the heat, especially when pregnant as I can sit. Oh well, such is life.

We normally do evening EMH, although with a toddler that doesn't happen as much or as late now. We wouldn't sleep in too much, just get to the parks around 9:30 normally and we were fine. We have quite a few pre park opening ADRs so I'm planning things a little different nowadays with the toddler and being pregnant. Plus it's our first summer trip, but for the most part we might take advantage of some EMH, but we didn't plan around them for this trip!

That's a good plan for you with a little one and being pregnant in the heat. I don't find it's really brutal until about lunch time and that's when we usually take our break to swim and nap:). I think it will work well for you!
