Holy Mouse Ears - At Aulani now!

Thanks for this thread.

I just booked 8 nights in a pool view 1BR villa checking in on 25-Mar for us.

Very excited for our first trip.

UGH. the double infinity hot tub had water but PH was off so it wasn't open which meant we didn't get to use it. I did get pics though. On our way to Big Island now so as soon as I get there I'll upload a couple pics

No one could confirm if.it.was ADULT ONLY or not. sad we won't.get to use.it - the view was amazing

I left on the 5th...I too hope the double infinity hot tub will be adults only. I wonder when they will re open? We didn't find the "hidden" hot tub near the lazy river until our 3rd day...that one seemed to be relatively kid free compared to the 2 others (double infinity was closed out whole stay). That one could be made adults only relatively easy since most don't use it.

When the double tubs reopen, 5 hot tubs should be an ideal number. My group was amazed to see so many kids (under the age of 5) in the hot tubs. Once, it was 4 adults in the hot tub, and a dad brings his two children under 3 who screamed bloody murder, "I don't like hot tubs!"; his response was "weird" to us. Duh...take the kids out they didn't want to be there. Really annoyed the 4 of us. Bad parents!

OMG - It made me cringe. Diapers in a HOT TUB. Grossed me out.

here are a couple pics of the Dbl inifinty pool that is "rumored" to be ADULT ONLY!! It was supposed to be open the day before we left (Tues the 12th) but the PH wasn't correct so we did not get to try it out. :'(

Who ever gets there first and gets to use it - PLEASE tell us how it was.

Crossing my fingers for those adult only infinity hot tubs.
When we were there two years ago the swim diapers in the hot tubs just grossed us out. Every hot tub was filled with them.
I just… gross… don't… ugh

Is the infinity hot tub near the adults only pool? It would make more sense that way. If separate it seems like it would be harder for them to enforce such a rule.

Can't believe there a little children in diapers in a spa. Does Disney not realize this create a slew of Heath issues? Let alone it's just out right disgusting. I understand them not waiting to enforce this...since it would only cause major backlash from those families. And let's face it it's a family resort and that's the resorts bread and butter. In these economic times you can't afford to lose one customer. Even more so since this resort has not be meting the capacity expectations that were projected But come on Disney...this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Judging by the comments in this thread...we are not the only ones who think this is an issues

We are not attacking your children.
Spas in general have health risks
Genital herpes can live in a spa/hot tube for up to 4 1/2 hours

Not really. The closest hot tub to the adults pool is the new grotto one...that one I can understand having kids in it since it's so close to the new pool.

I just don't understand parents who allow their young kids in the hot tub. I think the easiest adults only tub would be the the "hidden" since it's not near any pools. Maybe I'll make a map of all the hot tubs and post it so everyone who hasn't been can visualize.

What did Disney do to repair the infinity tubs? It seems someone cut themselves on glass tiles in late October. Right before we arrived so it was covered with a tarp.

Not even going to touch the diaper in hot tub...yuck..
Thank you for posting amazing photos here! We were fortunate enough to book a week for Feb, needless to say, we are a bit excited. It's a surprise for my daughters:) We now live in Seattle area, we see Aulani commercials all the time, as opposed in Chicago!

Safe travels and Mahalo!

That infinity hot tub in the picture from BowlingAriel is the one that has been there since the beginning. We were there in Jan 2012 and it was hard to find a nice spot because of all of the children crowding it and treating it like their own kiddie pool.

The hot tub at BLT was awful in October. Same thing....young kids running and jumping into the hot tub....and no parents around. And, not to be gross, but I need to go see my dr. tomorrow as I think I may have a UTI. This is the second time this has happened after a WDW stay. I did pull the "lifeguard/pool manager type person" aside when I saw him cruising around with his clipboard and gave him an earful. I was told "the lifeguards need to keep their eye on the pool". My question was "who will save the kid that hits their head on the concrete while diving into the hot tub". He did have a frank conversation with some parents once he tracked them down (after I told him to just stand near the bar and WATCH the hot tub for a few minutes).

That being said....I absolutely LOVE everything else at BLT and Aluaini...and BWV.

This was THE infinity hot tub when we were there in Feb. and it seemed to be a kiddie play area. HATED that part.

Grossed me out too, and I came home with a whopping ******l infection that the Docs told me was from being in a pool or hot tub where diapered children were not properly diapered. I lobbied hard to get that infinity hot tub to be adults only. I hope it finally is!!!

That double infinity has been closed they said for awhile.
Something about someone getting cut on the tile.
Other than the disgusting diapers in the hot tubs - the property is absolutely beautiful. I am already trying to figure out when I can go again. LOL

:cool1:

Aulani CM here...Infinity hot tub is officially now ADULT ONLY! Two signage to indicate that you must be at least 18 years old to enter. Still caught a couple people trying to sneak their kids in, even though the sign is impossible to miss. Don't tell me ''That sign wasn't there when we got in'' !! The other 3 hot tubs are for anyone to use, and even though the rules state that kids under 12 must be supervised by a parent, it's something we can't seem to enforce very well. So far I see big improvements in the ways of making the infinity tub adult only. Way quiet and relaxing.

YIPEEEE!!! Maybe I WILL return to Aulani after all! I Railed about that hot tub issue to several castmembers while I was there and even took photos and sent them to Member Satisfaction because I didn't feel as a "senior citizen" I could use that infinity hot tub either safely OR comfortably with all the small children and wild tweens in there. I came home with a horrible infection that took two rounds of treatment to cure, and I was told to NEVER enter another public hot tub.

I wholeheartedly agree with this change! I can't wait for our visit in April. Even with two kids, us parents need a place to relax on a vacation.

:cool1: Good to hear - hoping we can re-book our trip there for next summer so we can enjoy it too.

But they're still going to allow children in diapers in the other hot tubs?:scared1: That is just wrong on so many levels....hot steamy diapers! EWWWW!!

It's about time!!! We were there in Sept and could never get in a hot tub with out kids!! I love my kids dearly but people on vacation need to watch their kids and not assume the lifeguards will.!! Even at 10pm there were still kids running and jumping in hot tubs!

Diapers of any kind are not allowed in any of the hot tubs OR pools. The only kind allowed are swim diapers. If you ever see any child with a diaper on other than a swim diaper PLEASE let a CM know immediately!
