2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

I know you can make ADRs 180 days from your trip, but at what time can you start making your ADRs? Midnight? 6 am?

I just got through to them. Been trying since Monday it was always busy. I was so glad to get a Cm only to be told their systems are completely down LOL. No wonder it rang!!!!

I have been trying to get a Nemo suite (have Lion King booked now) and keep checking as well. Never anything but Lion King showing up. Figured I would make a call today (and also got right through…should have clued me in ;))and got told the same thing…system down :( This is driving me crazy!

Whether by fluke, pixie dust, magic or just dumb luck I was able to get Free Dining on Sunday evening.

I am feeling so blessed reading all of your troubles obtaining the FD deal and hope once things calm down that those of you who want/need to change things - ultimately can.

For some -- FD just doesn't work...due to touring styles, picky eaters, or personal preferences. But for our family -- it's a win. We like it because we're foodies and love trying out new cuisine and it's a pretty simple system. I'm not constantly worried about our food budget -- we order what we are hungry for, whether it's the most expensive seafood or steak item or the cheapest veggie/chicken entree on the menu. We don't stress about milking every bit of value out of it and just enjoy the food and atmosphere and continue having fun in the parks.

What is it about FD that attracts your family?

We are a larger young family (four kids five and under) and character meals are a big part of our experience right now. It would totally change our vacation, because we would never pay out of pocket for the dining plan. Instead, we would eat mostly quick service with maybe one special meal and really be watching what we order. Without the lure of free dining we would be tempted to save money elsewhere by staying off-site or cutting other corners. (No extra party tickets or anything like that.) The free mugs are a nice perk, too.

What is the problem with their computers? I tried to modify the ressies from POP to Port orleans and it kept saying error on the payment area..(i don't owe anything since i already paid the 200.00 deposit) I made the POP reservations the day free dining was announced. I kept trying to get Port Orlean Riverside to no avial until this morning...but it was giving me problems. I didn't want to risk not to grab it so i made a new reservation. I just called the WDW reservation to cancle the POP package and they tell me the computers are down. Also, i grabbed a standard view and when i check the reservations, it changed to Garden view...what up with that? So i am now i am paying little more for it. I hope i can get the standard back. Seriously, Disney needs to get it together with the reservations software.
When I was trying to modify my ressie from OKW to POR I was getting the same error. I had to add my card even though nothing was due and even though I have choosen to save that card in the system several time with no success

Still hoping something at CBR or CSR opens up for my trip but I have a feeling my only chance of a discount is going to be a UOC or a RO discount.

Geez. I'm really disappointed in Disney IS. You'd think they'd be able to get the computer system up and running in three days. Still getting errors every time I try to access.

Seems like system issues are across the board given the posts above who tried to get a CM. I have been checking just to see if a different resort opens up and I got error messages too that the server is down/busy and to try again. Same thing was happening with my quest to find a BOG dinner rez 10/29. I won't give up, its my daughters bday and we REALLY want to eat there!

For those who have tried, tried and tried again to access the website and keep getting the same errors, make sure to clean our your browser's cache....not saying it's the reason, but it can't hurt.... and might help...

Well, the system seems to be back up. I was hoping somehow some CBR rooms would open up when it was restored (fat chance, ha!), but it does look like some more pirate rooms are available, if anyone was wanting those...

Were you able to get the FD?

I manage to book 6 nights package with FD but we need to stay an extra night. When I booked online there was no availability for 9/11-9/16 but available for 9/10-9/16 standard room, so I went ahead to book it. The only option for 9/11-9/16 was for preferred rooms. Would I be able to change it to 5 nights for standard room and still have FD?

When I logged on at 3:30 am central Monday there were no standards at POR for the FD. We went with the garden view for about $100 more. I wonder if the standard is excluded? Our dates are 9/7-9/15 so not the most popular time.

This is our family too! Kids are the same ages except baby #4 is coming in June and will visit the World at 11 weeks old. We feel the same about the DDP. Where are you staying?

According to the new policy, no you wouldn't. I was wanting to do the same thing. Unfortunately now if those dates don't show up as available in the system then you can't book the shorter stay.
