2015 FREE DINING THREAD _ All Questions HERE!!

Thanks for the info! Just out of curiosity, if Travel agencies don't charge us how do they pay commission? If they aren't making anything on the reservation (same price as Disney), I'm just curious where the commission comes from. Thanks again!
It comes from Disney. When you book direct, they keep the commission.

Disney pays them. TA's perform a commercial service (bringing business to Disney) and Disney . . . like any other travel based company . . . recognizes this service and pays them a commission. :-)

Just as a reminder for people as well who are trying to shave 5% off their trip--don't forget those Disney gift cards bought with your Target Red Card . . .
Here in OH, giant eagle fuel perks are better. I figured out hat to pay off my entire balance with Disney gift cards from giant eagle, I'd get $550 in free gas, which I could then put that money towards the trip too. Plus, I will buy those gift cards from giant eagle with my credit card that gives me 2% cash back for another $130. On top of scoring free dining I feel like I won the lottery:rotfl2:

Giant eagle shopper here too - do the same thing with the cards and disney visa!

Just got the response from the TA. the special offer is a discount on an 8 day ticket so if I want the 10 day ticket, price ends up the same. Come on UOC or RO offer!

If you have trouble getting T-Rex for the date you want, remember that restaurant also uses another reservation system. I think its called "open table"? . . . perhaps someone can correct me if I have the wrong name. I know that others on the Boards have reported having good luck getting a T-Rex reservation through it.
Just googled Trex cafe Orlando, called the number and got a reservation that wasn't available thru disney's site!!

I was looking at the resort map and noticed that a few resorts are very close to Epcot. Is there any advantage (shorter bus ride) by staying at one of the resorts near Epcot....also because you can jump on the monorail to MK?

I personally think there is a huge advantage to Beach Club and Yacht Club. You can walk from those resorts to the International Gateway of Epcot. You can also walk to DHS, it's a bit longer but not too bad.

The monorail is at the front entrance at Epcot, so you would have to walk through Epcot to get to it. That would require a park hopper if you wanted to go to MK as well.

You can also do Target Debit/Credit Card and save 5% if you buy the Gift Cards.
My plan is to go thru Ebates.com and buy them with my Target Card.
That means 5% off from target and a extra 2% (Ebates) thats back in my pocket.

Well..now what? We have our FD. Planning binder is in order. We have all of our dining reservations picked out, and written out in the order I need to book them, but can't book them yet. We've listed all the FP+ reservations we hope to get. And I've typed up room requests I'll need to fax..you know, in 6 months.

I hate how I always get so antsy. :hyper: I always say I won't be so bad planning the next trip, but I always am.

The long wait is on!
I didn't know you could fax in room requests. Could you tell me what number you fax them to and how far in advance of your reservation. Thank you.

I've gotten a pin code for just about every season this year.. I'm sure I'll be hearing crickets next year when I'm actually taking my Disney vacation..

I didn't get an email today about the code, but I called today checking on any possible changes to my reservation room type. The
CM was not as pleasant as most of them are, but he did tell me I had a pin code attached to my email. He said it is a RO offer. It was certainly not a good idea to change from where we are if we planned on purchasing the dining. He made it appear that it was not a FD offer at all, just the RO. Like I said never received am email, this is the first time we didn't.

I do the same thing. I keep waiting for them to give 20 cents off gas for Disney cards but lately the 20 cent off offers have been limited. I figured it out and just using the discount on gas without using a special credit card I am basically getting 6% off the gift card. So Giant Eagle is my go to for Disney cards only because Target only works out to a 5% deal. Plus I like that I can buy gift cards for larger denominations at Giant Eagle.

It different for each resort I believe. I have heard that faxing about a week or two before your visit is the best way to submit a request. I know PO resorts have a great "unofficial" site thats has the fax numbers for those resorts and great info on submitting room requests

Thank you so much. Where can I find that info?

Where the dole whips used to be. In Adventureland. I think its the building on the backside of Liberty Tree Tavern. I heard part of the reason they did the reno on LTT is to expand and improve the kitchen to share with the new restaurant.

Aloha Isle traded spots with Sunshine Tree Terrace, so they are now just past Aladdins Carpets.

When did they move? Was there last September and I can picture the stand in my mind but not sure if that was before or after the move. Thanks!

So just got off the phone with Disney. Had a UOC attached to my account but it wasn't available for a standard room at POR, so basically I got a free upgrade to a pool view room. Come on more FD rooms, hahahaha

If I book through a TA, do I make payments to them or Disney? I ask because I want to utilize the 6 month interest free offer for my Disney Premier Visa.

In my experience, you give the TA your credit card information, and they process it with Disney. The payment is still to Disney.
