I have a few questions as I'm getting ready for our trip.
1. Are small bottles of shampoo and conditioner available in the room?
2. If we go to a water park one day, are towels provided or do we need to bring some from home?
3. Does anyone know approximately how much a cab would cost between the BC and Poly? Also, what is the suggested tip amount?
TIA!
The CM was likely referring to this site: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/Hey, wonder if anyone can help me with this question. First let me say I am not tech savy. I do not have a "smart" phone (it's about as dumb as I am) and I don't ahve a facebook site or any of those other things. I'm lucky to have access to the internet through IE and I do have a My Disney Experience account. Okay, having said that, is there any way I can sign up to be on a "Disney Blog" where you get updates on what is happeing in the park? I've been trying to book a Behind the Scenes Backstage Magical Tour but the system has not released the date yet (should have happened last week). The CM said I should sign up for the Disney Blog site so that I'll get updates on when the dates have been released. I tried but I was not able to set up my email account to get the information. Has anyone had experience with this site and can you please point me in the proper direction so that I may accomplish this? Much appreciated.
Katesdad.
We stayed in one as a pixie dust upgrade a few years back. It was very nice, although not on the same floor as the club lounge. It was right at the corner towards Epcot, by the stairs to the "secret entrance" and had a huge balcony that stretched the length of the room on the woods (Epcot) side. You could easily hear the British band, and occasionally even Off-Kilter.
I'd suggest higher floor as a request, to get as close as possible to the 5th floor where the lounge is, and maybe large balcony?
I am usually pretty careful with valuables but have found myself being very cavalier at SAB. Not sure why, maybe it's those sunken treasures or some such. Knock on wood we have never had an issue.Sage advice here folks. Remember, just because you are at the happiest place in the world doesn't make it any less safer from those who like to gain their happiness at your expense. Please be careful out there with your valuables. I don't want to be reading any reports from my friends here on this thresd about items being "lost" while unattended.

I'm doing FP+ & on-line check-in tonight. Location isn't our top priority but a full balcony would be nice & a daybed essential.
I know that it is possible for a party of 5 to be booked in a room without a daybed & given a rollaway, but does anyone think that listing it as a request will increase our chances (it's pretty much they have one available when we check in or they don't).
I'd kind of like to keep our requests at just 'full balcony' thinking that maybe if we have only one that it will be fulfilled. I might be overthinking a bit, but both our online requests & a fax went ignored at POR in March & I'd like to up our chances!
Hi all!! Been a few years since I've lurked these boards but my hubby just told me that we may be able to head back to Disney next summer and I'd just LOVE to stay at the Yacht Club again! Can't wait to hear all of the latest and greatest going on at my favorite Disney resort! I am still burning a candle that smells like the lobby and we're sparingly using what's left of our shampoos/soaps from the resort
Wohoo.....I can finally be added to the list. We have booked our 2016 vacation We will be staying at the BC Mar 12-19. So excited. This will be our first time staying here (we normally stay at POR). We fell in love with the area and being able to walk to Epcot & HS after staying at the Dolphin last year for a conference.
Hi Dee,
I know you added us to the 2016 Be Our Guest List, but if you want to add our dates they are May 21st to May 27, 2016, Yacht Club!!
Well folks, tomorrow night my DW and DS head to the airport hotel for an overnight ahead of a 4am rise for our first flight leg at 06:30.
Thursday afternoon we will finally be back in WDW for the first time since 2012.
Thanks to everyone on hear for great information and some entertaining topics.
If anyone is interested in pics of the YC and surrounding area I'll be happy to post them while Im there.
Cheers all !

Hi everyone!! We are staying at the Beach Club August 22-29th. It's myself and hubby and our 3 boys. I'm super excited!! This is our second trip to WDW. We stayed at POR in Feb 2014. I've been a lurker on the boards since planning for that trip I just wanted to say hello! Getting ready to really dig into this awesome thread
Of course!! Except if you are me, and wait until the very last minute. I like to refer to myself as a packcrastinator
Ok we did it book for Beach club woods/garden view from January 5th-11th! First stay at a deluxe can't wait! I will be there for marathon weekend events. Any tips on anything at the resorts during that time? Do a lot of runners stay here? We stayed at POR for marathon weekend last year and am interested to see how it compares.
Hi all! I am scheduled to check into Yacht Club on 9/13, but I am a little concerned about the possibility of construction. I can move us to Boardwalk, something that wouldn't be too big a hassle for us. Any thoughts on if I should consider this? If they have just started renos on the BC villas, is it possible they won't have moved over to YC by Sept? TIA!
My last 10 trips, I've stayed at the Boardwalk. For my upcoming trip, in early December, I couldn't get a room at the Boardwalk so I booked a club level room at the Yacht Club. How concerned should I be about the construction? I was at the Boardwalk during their last renovation and it wasn't pretty but I can't say that the noise really affected me being that I wasn't in my room during the day.
Walked back from International Gateway. Scuttled in the back door to BCV - and that last stretch, where BC rooms on the right and BCV on the left.... smokers benches in front...
distinct hammering heard.
Tried to take a picture, but the phone won't peer inside. I saw a painter and I saw a bed with plastic wrap on it.... and hammering.
It was 2nd floor rooms there were 3 windows on that pathway, and the corner room/area that faces Epcot is where I heard hammering
Its 5:00 pm FL time June 23
Finally made it to our new home. The last two months have been a whirlwind with DD's prom, high school graduation , final college decisions, etc. We are here now-3 nights into an. 11 night trip-moving from studio to one bedroom today. Thanks Dee see we are on guest list. Will try to make some live reports. We came down this trip with no fast passes, no ADRs and no plans whatsoever. Thinking this might end up being the best Disney trip in a while.
Beaches and Cream still allowing take out Sundaes and shakes. We grabbed a dinner reservation there the night we arrived and our waitress told us if you ask nocely and they aren't busy they will do the specialty sundaes like the grilled banana bread one as well. DH and I did grab lunch at the counter yesterday with no ADR and a wait of about 10 mins.
I am usually pretty careful with valuables but have found myself being very cavalier at SAB. Not sure why, maybe it's those sunken treasures or some such. Knock on wood we have never had an issue.
Alright, it's official! I have booked a split stay during Easter at POR (3 nights) and BC (3 nights) from March 24-30, 2016.
It saved $350 (off rack rates) to do the split stay for a total of 6 nights than to just do 5 nights at BC. Easter's not cheap! But I was able to add the Deluxe dining plan for the first half only, which will give us 1 day into our BC stay to use lots of table and snack credits. Woohoo!
Dee, please change our stay from Dec (original plan cancelled) and change it to the new dates.

Chris from Disney Itinerary Planning Office informs me that there are cups, plates, and figurines with the only Disney characters being Snow White and Ariel. Prices run between $5-$25 dollars. This is the ceramics class at Sandcastle Club on Wednesday's from 2:30PM-3:30PM. Then they fire them to set the paint; and, we pick them up 2-3 days later.
The time he gave me is different from the published times on the monthly activities flyer.

We've been using uber with great success. You set up a uber account on a PC, then use the ap. Tip is included, you have a cc# on file, so it's just the ride. If you go to the transportation forum here on the dis, search uber for lots more info
We did the ceramics while at the BC last week. My daughter painted a jewelry box type thing. It had a dolphin on the top. We did it around 2:30 on Wednesday and it was available for pick-up after 5 on Thursday. (The oven is at the Boardwalk so they take it over there to set the paint) Her jewelry box was $14.00 plus tax. She really enjoyed it and I think that is her favorite souvenir from the trip. ( and she spent her birthday money on plenty of things)
