Admit it, you've been that rude guest!

I've refused to let children in front of me during a parade before, I'll admit it. You snooze, you lose. I put in the time to stake out my spot, I'm not letting your precious snowflake in front of me just because you arrived at the last minute.

Ditto, for the afternoon parade.

My 3 kids in front of me, my wife and I behind, and a woman sends her kids over to squeeze in front of "us" (my wife and I) at the last minute.

Um...nope. SOOOO much nope. Because a) I would like to see, too and b) I'm not going to be responsible for watching/taking care of/disciplining your kid, who REFUSES TO STAY BEHIND THE WHITE LINE, for the duration of the parade. I have 3 of my own, thanks.

So, yeah..I guess I've been that guest, too. Though I'd argue NOT with the CMs. Only with other guests who are being "that guest". :P

They werent at AOA when we stayed there.

Maybe it's to do with us tiff raff at values not being able to behave ourselves like Deluxe folks lol
I was thinking the exact same thing!!! I'm glad us riff raff get queues for the busses though!!

I agree about the capacity. I've stayed at all three levels and while MODs could definitely do with queues, the Deluxe bus stops were hardly ever overly crowded, except maybe at rope drop and even then not as busy as any of the Values and Mods I stayed at.

However I guess I might be considered rude at the bus stops. If I choose to sit on a bench then I don't complain when someone walks up and stands in the line area and gets "ahead" of me on the bus. If I choose to stand in the back then when the bus comes and people start to line up I'm going to walk to the line and I get in where I get in. By the same logic I do not feel guilty if I walk up and people are sitting back in the shade and I'm standing up in the empty area when a bus comes so I go get in line and get on. I don't wait for everyone sitting down or hanging back in the shade to come line up first.

If you're not in line, then you're not in line.

I 100% agree with this statement. I guess it can be compared to the dreaded parade spots.. Say you are sitting on a bench on Main St. in the shade for 20 minutes.. along comes a family and they take a seat on the curb getting ready for the parade 30 minutes before it starts... do you have the right once the parade starts to go up to that family and say "Hey there, I was here 20 minutes before you so I have the right to those curb side seats" No. that sounds ridiculous.

Not to mention, If I'm standing at the bus stop waiting for an Epcot bus and one pulls up right in front of me, I'm not going to yell back "HEY WAS THERE ANYONE HERE BEFORE ME THAT IS ALSO AWITING FOR THIS EPCOT BUS BEFORE I GET ON??" No. Just no.

Here is the queue at Art of Animation, showing the chains that have always been there.

Yep I stayed at AoA right after it opened (think it opened in August and I was there in Oct) and the chains were there then.

Someone got mad at me for that once. They were standing in the shade in front of Liberty Tree Tavern for the daytime parade. But there was so much space in front of them, between them and the street. So we strolled up five minutes before the parade and stood in the sunny spot and I could hear them grumbling behind me and then they sort of came up and put their kids near my kids, so all of the kids had a good view. I knew when I did it they were going to get ticked but if it wasn't me, it would have been someone else.

"Personal Space" at Disney World is far different than personal space in day to day life lol ESPECIALLY when waiting for a parade. If you dont have a body part physically in the space, its not yours lol

OK I ADMIT IT! I have resorted to physical violence before! Put the waterboarding away!

I had just found out I was pregnant while at Disney. We were at Animal Kingdom in the exploration trails around the tigers. We were all looking through the glass with this 20-something girl comes from behind us and forces her way to the front. She literally climbs up my back to see the tiger. This resulted in my face pressed up against the glass and my belly being mashed up against the barrier. I flipping lost it! We had tried so hard to become pregnant and this careless little witch tried to destroy that? (That was what was raging in my mind at the time). So when she moved on to the next glass pane, I went up behind her to see the tiger, she looked at me and smiled and I shoved her head against the glass...twice. And I flipped her off. She got irrate and her friend wanted to know why I did that (she witnessed her acting like a maniac over freaking tigers). When I explained to her about my pregnancy, she went into panic mode and apologized and said "she is crazy". I told the friend, "You have nothing to apologize for. You didn't do this. But maybe you should put a leash on her".

OK, I feel better...I admit it, I have been rude, even violent. But I felt I was in the right. And I really do try to not be that rude person.

I think you won the thread. Also, my visual image of this is.. odd. lol

I always wondered if the little girl who elbowed me in the head, climbed over my wheelchair, then proceeded to stand on my broken foot to watch IllumiNations over the railing of the bridge I was parked up against was sent there by her parents. I did eventually get her off, but I was sidelined by shock and pain for a good long while. And not one of the people around me tried to help.

Wow really? That's terrible! I'm so sorry that happened to you. I honestly cannot believe how selfish some people can be.

I was just sitting there watching the show. They kept using their camera and putting me up on the screen. No matter what I did or didn't do it simply wouldn't stop. At the end of the show some cast member came up to me and handed me this sticker that said I was "that guy". So yes, I've been that guy before. :)
I had the same experience at the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. I was "That Guy". At least now I know where not to sit. :o

Not Sports but Movies at 3:30 am waiting for the Tragical Depress.

all star movies at 330 am.jpg

No bars all chains, and there is only cover on the small overhang from the building. All the All Stars have this same type of bus stops. The first slot with no chains is DME, Cruise Transfer and tour buses.

The big empty area at the first slot with more cover is where the RAC is located.

Yes, but don't forget that some of them are sober people with neurological disorders, or sober people suffering heat exhaustion, or sober people with disabilities. So, you would have to administer a breathalizer before holding anyone up to judgement.

But...that's not even what I was saying. The person whom I quoted said something about putting the 'real' Disney in the promotion videos and commercials...I merely added one group that should be included as well.

One time I took a flash picture by accident on the TTA. I was trying to put my camera away and I hit the button to take a picture. Well, if it had ended there, whoops, no big deal. But, there were other people on the ride who immediately yelled at me for taking a flash picture. Since I was already annoyed with myself for doing it, their ire made me even more annoyed and I yelled back - not that it was an accident, but that it was none of their business that I had taken a picture and that they needed to stop yelling at strangers!

I really should have just let it go.

You were manslammed. I'm sorry you were hurt. http://nymag.com/thecut/2015/01/manslamming-manspreading-microaggressions.html
After reading this article, I made the same test as the author and learned it's too risky. Many men really do not move. I was walking at the Contemporary this June on the far right side of a covered walkway. A nicely dressed, multi generation family were walking toward me. The person closest to my side of the walkway was the older man. He did not move. Not an inch. He didn't slow down, lean towards his wife, nothing. It was pouring rain. I stopped dead in front of him and said, loudly, "would you please allow me to pass." His wife grabbed his arm and pulled him aside.

I can tell you without a doubt that my husband, father-in-law, brothers, brother-in-law and most of the men I know would never do such a thing. They are all complete gentlemen. In general, I do find that it is women who are more likely to stand their ground. I guess it just all depends on how you were raised.

Sorry... there was a poster earlier who was driven to tears by people who assumed she was drunk, when she actually just had a disability. Your comment reminded me of that. Plus I've been involved in way too many discussions about "drunks everywhere" at the Food and Wine Festival, and am somewhat inclined to overreact.

I really am sorry! :flower3:

Thats terrible!

I must be massively overprotective. I would never send my 5 and 8 year old (ish...i'm guessing based on their relative height to my kids at the time) off, out of easy sight line, to go crowd another pair of adults, whether they had kids or not. Besides not being polite......i'd worry for the safety of my kids. Its so easy to get lost in the crowds, at parade time, as it is....and expecting that other set of adults to be responsible/safe or caretakers?! Yeah, thats beyond me.....

I agree, many (most?) men wouldn't do this. Maybe it has something to do with the likelihood of getting hurt? If I slam into a big guy, chances are I'm going to get hurt versus him so you bet I'm going to try to move out of the way. Maybe it's an issue of motivation to move. I agree about women too, they can be just as set in their tracks.
