Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

I'm sure this has been answered before, but I'm too tired to search. Is it possible to request a microwave in a LM room? We will have a new baby and if she's not exclusively breastfed, we will need a way to warm bottles.

Unfortunately, no.

Okay, I've skimmed and searched but couldn't find it. I'm positive this has been asked - but, I'm asking again. Exactly how long/horrible is the bus walk from the standard rooms? I'm booked Pop, but I want a more kid friendly theme (my kids don't know about walkmans or disco). So, I'm considering ASMovies or AoA. I like AoA because it seems all new and sparkly. But, I keep hearing about the walk from the LM rooms to the bus. Has anyone timed it?

It does depend on where your actual room is. I found a couple youtube videos of guests walking from the LM rooms to the bus. If I remember correctly one was 7:45 and the other was 9:03. If you search youtube for Little Mermaid walk to bus or Little Mermaid walk to food court you should find some. I'm on my phone now and too lazy to look them up, cut and paste etc.

Thanks, I'll look again! I checked youtube the other day and only found one for 13 minutes. She was walking SO SLOW! I was on my phone though and now I'm on my computer and can search easier :)

If you map it out on a mapping website, depending on the location of the Little Mermaid room you will be somewhere between about 450-650 yards from the bus stops (so roughly 1/4-1/3 of a mile). The average person can walk that in less than 10 minutes. The furthest room at ASMo would be about 450 yards. The longest trek at Pop would be about 400 yards. Some of those distances can be cut down by cutting through parking lots or other shortcuts. In the scheme of all the walking you'll do during the day, the rooms are a very short distance from the bus stops. However, I know that at the end of a long day in the parks, those distances can feel like miles. It really just depends on how you think your family will handle it. Obviously it doesn't bother a lot of people because the Little Mermaid rooms are always sold out. AoA is a great resort and I think your kids would probably love walking through it each day. But keep in mind that if you stay at Pop, you can still walk over to AoA just to look around and/or have a meal. You could even take the bus back to AoA from a park one day and just spend some time walking around before crossing the bridge to Pop.

FWIW, we stayed at Pop several times when our kids were young and they loved it there. They recognized plenty of the icons. All they really cared about was that we were at Disney World and there was a pool. :rotfl:

In the mornings, we'll be fine. It's the night I worry about. But, we're two able bodied adults and the kids will be in the double stroller. So, it can't be that bad, right?! We're only having 5 park days and I'm hoping I can convince my husband to drive to HS.

I didn't think about the mapping sites, that's perfect! My thought is that if I go Pop, they'll put me far away from the bus and I would regret not just choosing AoA. I showed my kids the Pop resort and they liked Lady & the Tramp (because they're dogs, haven't seen the movie) and they loved the Mickey phone. I may just wait until discounts come out and see if Pop gets a good rate. Money can help make a lot of decisions ;)

Not "normally",but I would definitely call Housekeeping, explain the situation, and see what happens.

If they are unable to help you, your only option would be to use the microwaves in Lanscape of Flavors(Food Court) or buy a small, cheap microwave for your trip.:)

I'd pick up a cheap bottle warmer. Microwaves are known to make hot spots so may not be what you want for the bottles anyway. Side note, I used room temp water for my kid's bottles and they never cared. :)

Agree. We never warmed bottles in a microwave unless there was absolutely no way around it. Bottle warmers aren't as fast, but they're very small and easy. If you really don't want to bring something with you, hot tap water will do, or maybe you'd have better luck requesting a coffee maker just to run water through to warm the bottle.

Are there coffee makers in the POP rooms?

If not, what do you do for coffee? Is Landscape of Flavors the only option? How many cups of coffee before buying the refillable mug becomes a better option (Not for me, I'm a tea girl, but I don't really want to spend a week with my mother if she doesn't get her daily allowance of coffee).

Constantstar beat me to it. Just wanted to give a +1 to what she said. Please do not warm your baby's bottles in microwave.
A bottle warmer is inexpensive and will take up very little room in your hotel room and luggage.
Also, many formula fed babies will take a bottle at room temp.

1. Nope.

2. Food court.

3. Yup.

4. 7

Has anyone taken an uber from here? We're doing a split stay with the lm rooms and the poly. The lm portion is just with ds and it would be nice if they are allowed to pull up near our room. Does anyone have any experience with this?

We've walked it and timed it at a fairly brisk pace. I'm going to say roughly 7-11 minutes depending on your room location. If you're planning on utilizing the food court or planning to swim in the main pool, the walk gets old fast.

Thanks! I looked at Touring Plans and it says the walk to the bus from our room at Coronado was 4 minutes. I must say, that walk was painful after a long park day. I think it's made worse by sitting on a bus for 20 minutes first. :)

So sorry if this has been covered somewhere (203 pages is a lot!)....but, we are staying in a Lion King Suite in Sept. Is it necessary to request a room for that? Will it make a huge difference in the distance to the food court or the bus stop? Thanks.
