Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Tell Mr. NateBenMa that Ninja Mom is coming for him. I will be able to win him over with a zip lock bag filled with purloined Pretzel rolls and a complimentary pool noodle.

He'll be wearing a flowered bathing cap and working on his synchronized Pool tube routine before he even realizes what he is doing.

Resistance is futile, he will be assimilated. Mwa, ha, ha!

Just want to let everyone know about my experience with IPO (Itinerary Planning Office) and dining reservations. My DH and I have YC CL reservation for our October anniversary trip. Normally, I would handle the reservations myself, because I enjoy booking them, but we were away, so I sent my list over. Tuesday was booking day, and by 6:20 am I had an email saying they were able to book everything I wanted at the times I requested.

The reservations I have are a BOG pre-opening breakfast, a BOG lunch, Beaches & Cream on arrival night and my husband's only request, La Hacienda. I also have a nice private dinner booked at Kona for the two of us and 8 friends. ;)

I found the office to be responsive, replying to the emails I sent within 24 hours.

:thumbsup2
YAY!

Couple questions I hope you wonderful people can help me with.

1) At SAB, what's the deepest part? My future hubby can't swim, so I would like to know if there is a part of the pool we should avoid. He is 6'1".

2) Our number one item on our room request is a King bed. Full balcony would be a bonus. I know you can't request a King on the online check-in, but we do have it noted on our reservation. Should we not do online check-in to help be sure we get a King?

8ft in the lazy river, as long as you avoid that part of the pool you are good!

Wow 8ft is kinda deep for a lazy river.... even the water parks its all standing for adult. i find it wierd.

I always do online check in because I want the resort to know what time I plan to arrive. That way they might have my room ready for me when I arrive. It works most of the time, too.

If I call central reservations to have a special request added to my reservation, like last October I wanted to be close to my daughter's room, then I still do online check in but I don't click any of the request options. I leave that part alone. Now the room assigners say that they see both the requests made verbally and the online requests, but I like to leave my requests at one thing only if that one thing is very important. :)

The 8FT section is only about half of the lazy river. The SAB "lazy river" is tiny by comparison to the water parks lazy river. I would say you can float around in 5 - 10 minutes max. It is relaxing and fun.

However, I am one to enjoy swimming and the water. I was a competitive swimmer growing up (they don't take just anybody on the SAB Synchronized Pool Tube Team!). :thumbsup2

Disney has taken the clocks out of all their resort rooms. The clock was missing from our BC room last October. We've been bringing a small battery powered clock with us. I hate having to find my phone whenever I want to know what time it is. Last time we went to Disney I made the mistake of packing a clock that made a ticking noise. TSA searched my suitcase. Oops.

I was told last October that most folks use their phones now. I said I have never set alarm on my phone. I did have travel alarm with me.

We are doing our first stay at Yacht Club in June and bringing our nephew for his first visit, which is causing all kinds of re-working our plans since he was a late add.

I don't own a cell phone, so as a BCV resident I'll rely on my "internal clock" but as a backup I always have the microwave clock in the studios!

I have a quick question if anyone can help. I know that balcony are limited at the BC, but what are the patio rooms like? Several years ago we requested connecting rooms and a balcony at the poly, with the connecting rooms a priority. We were assigned patio rooms, and holy wonderful! We really loved it. Are the BC patios a little bit private?

Good morning! Contemplating online check in and have a question after reading the terms & conditions:

It says that if you participate in online check in, you must participate in priority express check out (and further states that any charges will go to the credit card on file). Would that mean that I wouldn't be able to apply disney gift cards to any expenses incurred over our trip? Or, can we visit the front desk the evening before check out and pay off the balance in person?

Thanks in advance

We always do this. Also, if you use the ddp make sure that you write cash for the tip if you have a last meal on checkout day. That way you don't inadvertently charge them to your room

If the person that confirms with Ale and Compass could also ask if they can make Gluten Free waffles, that would be greatly sppreciated!

Yes! I was so excited to get Mickey waffles and bacon from the lobby after the Dark Side 1/2 a week ago. It was our first stay there, I didn't know it was new or if I just hadn't researched enough (ha!). It was two of the small Mickey waffles with two pieces of bacon. So pretty much like the kids meal that I usually get at Capt. Cooks, but for a few dollars more. My husband got "some kind of breakfast burrito thingy." The food was good, the coffee wasn't great. It was really really slow service. But sitting in the room eating Mickey waffles before I took my post-run nap was fabulous.

Some of the BC patios are not private at all. People taking the short cut from Beach Club Villas to epcot walk right past the patios. So basically people would be walking past from early in the morning until after park closing.

Thank you! I cannot remember noticing them on our last visit so I had no idea.
