Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Information & Questions

Little Mermaid rooms are not suites. Is there 5 or 6 people in your party? You listed 5 as your family but then referenced your mom? 6 people would be tight in a family suite I believe.

I think they meant that the family (mom, dad, and 3 daughters) would get a suite and the poster's mother would get her own Little Mermaid room. At least that's how I read it.

Hi! We are planning a trip November 11-19. Our party will include myself, my husband and my 3 daughters who are 13, 9 and 7. I have been very indecisive about where we should stay. I was thinking that a family suite would be great for the kids. I need my mom to have her own room to preserve everyone's sanity, including hers! It looks like there are no Little Mermaid rooms at all for our stay. Are they really hard to get? If there's no chance of one opening up I'll move on, but if they do open up now and then I'll keep trying. Thanks!

The Little Mermaid rooms do tend to sell out quickly. You could always book your family in a Nemo Suite and your mom could book a room at Pop Century. If you both request rooms close to the bridge, it would be an easy walk -- and could possibly be closer together than a suite and a LM room at AoA. You could keep watching for a LM room -- you never know when one will open up. People cancel/change their reservations all the time.

This is not a pool hopping question (I know that is a hot button topic and AoA is restricted to AoA guests) but I have a question on amenities at AoA if I am staying at Pop. Would we be able to tour the resort and go to the Lion King playground while we are at AoA after dining at the AoA QS restaurant?

Thanks! I didn't think of that. I have a room booked there with Free Dining for part of the days but was going to cancel it. I didn't realize they were so close.

The bridge that connects the 2 resorts is about 100 yards long.

Any special things to request for online check in? We are staying in a Cars suite, just wondering if any of the requests would make a difference for us.

Definitely!

Hi there! Anyone who has recently used the online check in Room Request feature, do you recall seeing the "Room Ready Request" option? The text for this states, "I would like my room ready for early arrival and to prioritize that over other requests."

This option shows in the Pop Century check in choices, but not sure if AofA had this.

I learned of it in this thread, image near the end of the first post.

Thank you!
I didn't select any room request option. It did ask for arrival and departure times. I put in our arrival time as 8:00 am and our departure time. I received a text that our room was ready at 7:45 and what our room number was. Magic Bands worked and we got into our room. It was awesome!!!!

Don't take my word as gospel, but as far as I know, the only amenities restricted from use by non-resort guests are the pools. Pretty much anyone is free to use the other facilities (e.g. restaurants, arcades, playgrounds, etc.) at any resort. Again, that's just my understanding.

Definitely true.:)

Hi! Planning a Non-Park day during our Sept trip. One of the things I really want to do is the AoA food court for lunch and the drawing classes.

Can anyone tell me *about* when those classes are held ...or a link to a resort recreation schedule. We are planning on hopping all over WDW that day, cramming a lot in, so it would be helpful to know approx. when the classes are held, esp those close to lunchtime.

Also, we are staying at BC. What would be the most direct bus transfer from BC. Ex: take Epcot bus from BC then hop on AoA bus from Epcot.

Regarding the transfer only, there is no bus from BC to EPCOT. (You use the walkway or boat from the back of the resort to enter EPCOT at International Gateway.) My recommendation would be to walk or boat to HS and then transfer to AoA bus.

Hi everyone! I have stayed at the little mermaid rooms a few years ago. I loved he resort but I HATED the beds. Does anyone know if the suit beds are different? Not so hard? I'm shopping around for a room and I love the rooms there but I don't want a back ache for a week solid. Thanks!

I find the queen bed in the suite to be extremely firm...too firm for me. I call Mousekeeping and ask for an extra blanket and fold it up to make a "pillow top" for my side of the bed (my husband loves the firmness of the mattress). That seems to help quite a bit for me. I didn't find the sofa bed or the table bed to be as firm as the queen bed.

Duh! Knew that! We were in BC for 10 days in '14 and walked to Epcot many times! Why did I use that as a "for instance"? Sry... Brain-fart! LOL

.
Sounds like a plan. Thanks!

Can anyone confirm that the Animated dance party in the lobby has been discontinued? I noticed that it's not included in the June activities schedule.
ETA: Is the Sketch artist of the day discontinued too? I'm not seeing it mentioned in the activities guide. Thankfully the drawing class is still there!

So my friends and I are staying in the Lion King suites on our Oct stay. We were wondering, how many TV's are there? Is there one in the bedroom along with the one in the living area?

Yes, there are two -- just like you thought: one in the living room, one in the bedroom.

Thank you! That means we don't have to watch Disney Jr. the whole time, lol

We are also wondering if there are by chance dvd players in the room?
