Target Red Card to buy Disney Gift Cards

Hello. Have any of you used your Target red card to purchase Disney gift cards and then used those Disney gift cards to purchase Disney tickets online? I want to do this, but will end up with about 10 Disney gift cards and don't know if I can enter 10 different gift card numbers on Disney's website when I purchase tickets. Thanks!

Yes you can buy the gift cards and then use them to purchase tickets. You can combine Disney gift cards online somewhere, I am sure someone will post the link soon. :)

I've combined many gift cards using the link above (under manage gift cards), it's so helpful! You can only track up to 5 cards, so you'll need to transfer balances and delete cards before adding new ones if you have more than that.

Yes the link makes it super easy - I think I had 12-13 cards and combined into 2. each card can only carry a balance of $1000 max, so keep really good track of which ones you've combined and which one has all the money!

So you can get 5% off Disney Gift Cards when using your Target Red Card to buy them? I am surprised the 5% comes off Gift Cards too. I am leaving for Disneyland this Thursday, and I am wondering if I should do this and purchase some Disney Gift Cards tomorrow.

Only in store. It used to work online but not anymore.

The 5% only comes off this gift card because it's an "entertainment card". If you ask a checker or manager they'll tell you no you won't get 5% off but when the receipt prints out you'll see your discount right there! I'd go today as the take a few hours to activate (up to 24 hrs sometimes). A day after purchasing I go on the website above and check the balance because in rare instances the card isn't activated right. I've yet to across an inactivated card but it's not something you want to discover while at the theme park. And being able to combine them online is so nice!

It still works online! I just did it after reading through this thread. Bought a $100 gc for $95 using my Target debit card. We always buy at least the cost of our food and combine onto our personalized Disney gift card and just use that when in the park.

Unfortunately, your order will probably be cancelled. They've been allowing them to go through and then cancelling them after the fact.

Have they been cancelling the ones that were totally bought with the Red Card? I thought it was the ones that people tried purchasing with Target Gift Cards (and getting the 5% Red Card discount because that was their default payment).

That's my bad, I think you're right! They wouldn't have a reason to cancel them if she only used her regular red card as payment. Thank you for correcting!

Yes, I have done this. It works great! Target online still does the 5% off as long as you use a redcard (debit or credit).

Ok, good. I was getting all confused. I looked back at my prior purchases and figured it had to be a fairly recent change as it worked as recently as July. 5% isn't a huge savings, but it is something!

I've been able to successfully purchase mine in store and got the 5% discount, didn't try stacking it with other discounts. The only issues I've run into were:
1. Most target stores don't seem to carry many cards larger than $50 and if they do they are hidden in the electronics section or near the birthday cards. Which is annoying because at other stores like Tom Thumb they carry cards with values up to $500.
2. I ran into a transaction limit using my debit red card. Apparently your limit fluctuates based on the largest purchase you've made in the past year or so. I was able to do $800 at one store but when I tried to do over $1000 at another store it was rejected. The 1-800 service rep couldn't tell me what my exact limit was but said it would slowly increase with each larger purchase I did. So if the limit was $800 and I did a transaction for $800 I guess the limit would get raised a couple hundred eventually. I didn't care to drag this out long enough to find out. So just broke the remainder I needed into purchases less than $800.
3. One store refused to sell me more than 2 cards at a time. They said it was a policy that had been in place for more than 2 years. But I didn't encounter that at any of the other 3 stores I tried in the same area.
4. On average it's taken 3 days for each transaction to go through and actually show up on my bank account.

I used my Red Card using the app for a $100.00 Disney gift card and did get the 5% off. No issues here

If you also have a samsclub card. They sell a multi pack at a discount. I can't remember the prices. It has been awhile since I have been in, But I remember it's a good deal. Anyone know if sams club price beats targets red card? We are most likely going to do either one of these options for our food!

It's about the same as the Target discount. You buy 3 $50 cards for something like $142.
