Road Trip! Family of 7 - It's Only 1600 Miles - June 2016 TR (completed)

Great trip report, have made the Minnesota Florida drive many many times. Also lost my father this summer so very sorry to hear about your loss.

Trip isn't bad at all. I think next road trip will be to the NW and back. Sorry to hear about your loss.

Call the Mechanic

Well, just our luck, or just not our luck, depending on how one looks at it. The ride broke down, so...

We sit sit sit sit sit sit sit
In our line the whole wait through
To sit sit sit sit sit sit sit
Is what we don't like to do

So about an hour later...we start to move! Mamaduck isn't feeling it this morning so she is going wait it out. I text this to her:

We were at MK on Father's Day too! Wonderful treat! Looking forward to seeing how the rest of your day turned out...
We started with breakfast at Ohana - then the rest of the day at MK, with a mid day break. But then we did close the park! Woot!

Just caught up with your trip report-it's hilarious! It truly chronicles the road tripping life with a big family! We are a family with 6 kids so we totally get it-we love to road trip too. You guys make me miss our Suburban, our rocket had 160,000 road tripping miles on it. We did get a new rocket in the form of Ford Transit, which we have affectionately named Bagheera. Can't wait to read the rest of your report!

Joining in also! You have a beautiful family!

My condolences on the loss of your father.

I have a question on San Angel Inn. DH & I would love the food, not sure about my younger two. I see they have cheese quesadillas for kids but don't know how filling that would be for them. What did your kids order that wasn't on the menu? Just wondering what other options they have! Thanks! :goodvibes

An hour+ wait? No. Just. No.
Yeah, because we have never waited in line for more than an hour before, right?

- I just watched Jungle Book last night...otherwise I may have not gotten your reference. We went from a Honda Odyssey (great vehicle) to the "burvin" as my 4yo calls it. You are +1 on us. We have cargo bags for the roof rack we sometimes use. Never on road-trips, but visiting family and having to bring there or back other things (like Christmas)...the bare necessities of life.

Thank you.

I'm trying to recall now what they all ordered. DS had Steak Taco's - softshell, which I'm sure was the Tacos de Carne w/o the other stuff - thinkg going to Taco Bell or Taco Johns. DD14 ordered chicken quesadillas. I'm still :coffee: and stressing the memory banks.

Yeah, because we have never waited in line for more than an hour before, right?

I remember my first visit waiting an hour and a half for SM. And then I discovered the UOG. I think the longest I've waited for a ride since then is about 20 minutes.

On the Platform

We finally make it through the entrance.

Ooooooh! Aaaaaaaaaaahh! Pretty lights.... Of course they made some interactive stuff to play with.

I didn't notice the barrels to the right and first thought.. Splash. Huh.

Yeah, all sorts of interactive goodies to play with but at parts the line moved too fast so we didn't get to soak it all in. We had plenty of time however to play with the magic kaleidoscope barrel thing.

Heigh-No

We made it! Now my expectations were "Thunder Mountain Railroad" level thrill and add in the broken down wait time....I had my expectations set to high and walked off a bit disappointed.

We are the last 6 passengers:

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
It's off to more fun we go
We keep on singing all day long
Heigh-ho

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho
Got to make your troubles go
Well, you keep on singing all day long
Heigh-ho

Heigh-ho, heigh-ho

I have to agree, it's fun, but not the greatest ride in WDW.

Fantasyland Wrap-up

It was drizzling a little. A little cooler and windy today. After the Princess Hall...
