We had a great time on our recent trip at Beach Club. Here's a little of a trip report.
Room: I booked a standard room, and my request was large balcony, close to transportation. We had a third floor room, large balcony, that looked on the roof. Didn't really mind, just different. We didn't really have time to sit on the balcony anyway. I didn't like the long, long hallway to get to the room, although, there was a "secret" stairwell that was next to Cape May that we used when going to the pool. The bathroom seemed a little small. Internet WIFI worked fine.
Pool: On the pool, my kids loved it! Sandy bottom was great! I did not like the lazy river. I didn't like that the whole thing was so deep, and wished somehow the pools connected? But my kids loved it, and they are the pool lovers so fine with me!
Restaurants and stores: We did get a Beaches and Cream reservation, two days before there seemed to be a few reservations pop up on
MDE. Now, while I thought Beaches and Cream was nice, I was a little not disappointed, but just thinking, hmm, so this is the place I couldn't get an ADR for? Really it's not the menu, there isn't an abundance on there, but because it's so small and very few tables. I did like the walk up line. That's pretty cool.
I loved the Marketplace, nice to fill up the refillable mugs there or at the pool and the counter. The Marketplace was hopping and popping especially in the morning. Loved the Mickey waffles. I had a reservation for Cape May, but cancelled it prior because as our trip unfolded some things became obvious about not being possible to get done if I kept reservations. One restaurant I loved in Epcot that we didn't cancel was the Via Napoli! Fabulous with a glass of wine and it was pouring outside.
Weather: Good, hot but not baking hot, humid but not the worst humidity we've experienced there. However, rain was kind of a bummer and seemed like it rained every night. The rain seemed to stick around a little longer than it did on past trips, and came a little later in the evening rather than more in the late afternoon. I'd rather it rain in the afternoon and then dry up with the sun. Luckily, we brought several pairs of shoes each! Took forever to dry the running shoes. Sandals work a little better. Didn't like that it rained in the evening, as that takes out a few ride plans. We stood in a downpour stuck in a really long Flights of Passage line. We hadn't bought the ponchos that night, and wish we had! That was an experience to remember! Bought ponchos the next day.
Transportation: We didn't have transportation issues, the busses ran just fine. I loved the walk over to Epcot, and got to walk over to Boardwalk and look around.
Magic hours: We didn't make any morning magic hours. We used the AK hours twice, was convenient Pandora was open late but also made the next morning so very tiring. Pandora is so dark at night, I kind of did not like that, I'm somewhat night blind so I had a little trouble there.
Overall, good experience and very tired
