Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Our adr day was last week and I could not get anything for Captain's Grill for breakfast all week. We are going the week after Thanksgiving. Do you guys think they are holding the reservations to see if it will be back in its old space? We wanted to have breakfast there. Also, what are the chances of getting a walk up at Beaches and Cream on a Sunday night? Our reservation is at 10:20 which is way too late for my three year old to eat. We are keeping it for now because my husband and I may go have dessert while my mil watches the kids. Is there anywhere else within walking distance that would be a good walk up for dinner on our arrival night?

Keep checking back for a better time for Breaches and Cream. I made our ADR for Le Cellier 180 days out but only one time slot available for our August trip was earlier in the evening than we wanted. I kept checking back and FINALLY got a better time today! :)

Guests need to cancel with at least one day notice, to not be charged a penalty. Very often there will be cancellations one or two days before the actual dining date. I have gotten a Beaches and Cream ADR about 30 hours in advance, for a prime time. I also suggest checking several times per day, if you can.

The Crew's Cup Lounge at the YC does not take reservations, only walk-ups. It is a small space with limited seating. If you go early in the evening, you should be fine. There is a limited menu, but the food is very good.

You could also try the ESPN Club, which is over at the Boardwalk. They don't accept dinner reservations, but it's quite large. They do have a kids' menu.

We've had good luck walking up to Trattoria al forno over at the Boardwalk. Food was great too :)

YC CL reporting here! We have the same room we had 2 years ago but WOWZA has it changed!!! We've got two queens and the pullout and the shower stall bathroom (DS is beside himself with joy ). I can hear buzzing feim the refurb on 2 but it's mild enough it could have been the fridge. Weren't met curbside but the admiral on deck himself escorted us upstairs when I said we were CL. Got my Drink of Perfection, child is thrilled we can access the Globe Pokestop from our room (yes, the Globe is BACK!!!), and all is right with the World. ❤❤❤

You're very fortunate that you can only hear "buzzing". We were on the Club Level in room 5150 last Thursday and Friday and the loud sound of drilling into concrete went on for the 2 days we were there. We had to raise our voices to hear one another and turn the TV up loud to drown out the construction noise. According to the letter in the room, it should have stopped at 5 pm but on Thursday evening, it went past 6 pm when we left for dinner. I didn't hear anyone else in the lounge complaining so maybe we were just unlucky with the location and timing.

Any runners here? I'm trying to figure out how to run 5 miles during my 09/8-09/16 BC stay. Theoretically I'm in training for a 10K at the end of September, and if somehow I have energy after being at the parks all day, I'd like to get at least one run in during my stay. Any suggestions on a route?

You'd have to make a couple round trips to get 5 miles but the path along the canal to DHS would be great. It's about 2-2.5 miles round trip.

There's a running map on Page 1. Somewhere. Try the first post. If not there, then either Post 13 or 14.

2 laps around the Epcot Resorts using the sidewalks is about 5.0 miles. Head out the front gate of the BC take a left [or right] and follow the sidewalks all the way around. You'll run out of sidewalk for about 200 feet between the Beach Club and Boardwalk Resorts, but there is grass to run on. I prefer taking a left out of the main gate on to the Epcot Resorts Blvd. sidewalk, past the YC, Dolphin, and Swan, left on Buena Vista Dr., over the canal and then left back on to Epcot Resorts Blvd. past the Boardwalk, on the grass, under the bridge and then back to BC front gate. If you don't want to do 2 laps, you can cut back in at the BC and do 3 laps [1 lap = .8 miles] around Crescent Lake to make it an even 5 miles. You can also introduce the canal to your run for an approximate 1.8 miles RT from Atlantic Dance Hall to the main gate of HS.

Our last stay, we were able to get a 5:30pm ADR at 3:30 that same afternoon. As others have said, just keep checking; you never know when something will open up for you. Good luck!

ETA: for Beaches and Cream!

When I was booking my ADR's for my September trip, Captains Grill was showing zero availability for our entire 9 days. 2-3 weeks later I was able to get both breakfast and dinner res. I figured it had to do with timing of the move during construction. You may be experiencing same issue as they should be close to finishing up by then. Keep checking!

We had a great time on our recent trip at Beach Club. Here's a little of a trip report.

Room: I booked a standard room, and my request was large balcony, close to transportation. We had a third floor room, large balcony, that looked on the roof. Didn't really mind, just different. We didn't really have time to sit on the balcony anyway. I didn't like the long, long hallway to get to the room, although, there was a "secret" stairwell that was next to Cape May that we used when going to the pool. The bathroom seemed a little small. Internet WIFI worked fine.

Pool: On the pool, my kids loved it! Sandy bottom was great! I did not like the lazy river. I didn't like that the whole thing was so deep, and wished somehow the pools connected? But my kids loved it, and they are the pool lovers so fine with me!

Restaurants and stores: We did get a Beaches and Cream reservation, two days before there seemed to be a few reservations pop up on MDE. Now, while I thought Beaches and Cream was nice, I was a little not disappointed, but just thinking, hmm, so this is the place I couldn't get an ADR for? Really it's not the menu, there isn't an abundance on there, but because it's so small and very few tables. I did like the walk up line. That's pretty cool.
I loved the Marketplace, nice to fill up the refillable mugs there or at the pool and the counter. The Marketplace was hopping and popping especially in the morning. Loved the Mickey waffles. I had a reservation for Cape May, but cancelled it prior because as our trip unfolded some things became obvious about not being possible to get done if I kept reservations. One restaurant I loved in Epcot that we didn't cancel was the Via Napoli! Fabulous with a glass of wine and it was pouring outside.

Weather: Good, hot but not baking hot, humid but not the worst humidity we've experienced there. However, rain was kind of a bummer and seemed like it rained every night. The rain seemed to stick around a little longer than it did on past trips, and came a little later in the evening rather than more in the late afternoon. I'd rather it rain in the afternoon and then dry up with the sun. Luckily, we brought several pairs of shoes each! Took forever to dry the running shoes. Sandals work a little better. Didn't like that it rained in the evening, as that takes out a few ride plans. We stood in a downpour stuck in a really long Flights of Passage line. We hadn't bought the ponchos that night, and wish we had! That was an experience to remember! Bought ponchos the next day.

Transportation: We didn't have transportation issues, the busses ran just fine. I loved the walk over to Epcot, and got to walk over to Boardwalk and look around.

Magic hours: We didn't make any morning magic hours. We used the AK hours twice, was convenient Pandora was open late but also made the next morning so very tiring. Pandora is so dark at night, I kind of did not like that, I'm somewhat night blind so I had a little trouble there.

Overall, good experience and very tired :)

Thanks for your report! You know you had a good trip when you come home and need s vacation from your vacation!

I need to find that secret entrance! We had a standard room last October and I didn't know about it then. Now we have another standard view room in July, and I am sure that we will be in that section again, since that is where almost all of the standard rooms are.

Thanks for taking the time to write your mini trip report. That rain sounds like it ruined a lot of plans.

Tip: If you stuff your running shoes with newspaper, and keep replacing the wet paper with dry paper, the running shoes will dry faster. :) The trick is to find newspaper. I didn't see any complimentary U.S. News newspapers on this past trip.

This truly does work! My tip--get to the bell services desk first thing in the a.m.--there should be a stack of complimentary papers there--it is where my husband would grab ours each morning a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks for the tip. They used to put the newspapers near the elevator on each floor. But I'll check out the bell services desk when we are there next month. :)

I'm contemplating getting the One-Bedroom club level Suite at the Beach Club. I've never stayed at club level anywhere ever, is the additional cost worth it? Or would I be better off getting a One-Bedroom villa instead? Do any of those one-bedroom suites have firework views?

We just returned from 5 nights at the Yacht Club. We have been staying at Y&B since 1990 so we are very familiar with the resort.

I don't know who designed their new rooms but many aspects of them are simply horrible.

First off, no fan! The room got so warm in the middle of the night. I felt like I was suffocating.

Second, the beds are WAY to high. I can't imagine a small child having an easy time of getting in or out of them as I could barely do it myself. My senior mother would never be able to comfortably get into it either.

Third, I hate the bare floors. I understand the allergy argument and that the "industry" is going that way but I didn't like it.

The room simply lacks personality, for my tastes.

The closet redo and the walk in shower are the only things I liked.

I did speak to a manager one morning. She was walking past me and we started talking. She said the height of the beds has been mentioned by other guests as well.

The new Market is fine but the layout is weird. I imagine the area will be reworked once the entire space is completed. Actually, the best part of the Market is that it opens at 6 AM and it was busy every morning at opening. One of my biggest complaints of the Marketplace at the BC has been how late it opens.

Finally, the activity schedule has really been reduced. No campfire at all and no activities on Sunday's except for the movie, which isn't even on the beach any more. They used to have "changing of the guards" and other many other activities. It seems as if that department has been greatly reduced.

Thanks for the review, I am now really starting to have concerns over the height of the beds as I am a senior with some mobility issues and not very tall.
DH is always hot and is not going to like the absence of the fan.

There is a burn ban in the Orlando area so no campfires at any resort.
