It would be nice if the offer was for more hours so I could get benefits instead of less. I told my husband she would have to give me a 5.00 per hour raise and 1 more hour a week so I can get benefits and (yup only 1 more hour to get benefits) and change some of my job duties then MAYBE I would consider staying and that's a big maybe.

The job is at a middle school grades 6-8 (I think) I start August 24 at 7:30am. It is about a 15 minute ride a few towns over. I'll miss my 4 minute commute but that's about all I'll miss. The Principal seems really nice.

I think you should e-mail her back with your counter offer. What have you got to lose?

DH and I think alike! It's a shame the school can't offer you more hours but I'm thinking you'll have a better chance of advancement there than where you're at. PLUS...THEY'LL KEEP THE HEAT ON DURING THE WINTER! Your middle school is our Jr. High...but at least you could help US with "age appropriate" problems that we'll be having with The Princess! This experience will be a total opposite of Redstorm's! It's hard to take a cut in pay but you can do it; we did after DH lost his re-election bid a few years back. You adjust and the work place environment SHOULD be 100 percent better than what you have to work in now...especially since the Principal is nice.

Picked up our football season reserved seats, Senior Passes, school calendar and the volleyball & football schedules today. There will be 2 scrimmages, 3 tournaments, 12 pre-district and 10 district games....and then, hopefully, the playoffs. That's a possibility of 120 games PLUS all the tournament games! School calendar has the PERFECT week for us to go to DW...Nov. 26-Dec. 2nd. Just a little "tempted" though...2 Christmas seasons at DW in a row and I'm ready for something a little different. "Let the games begin"!
