Another lovely day in Oklahoma. . .

It's cold here and raining. The frogs will not shut the hell up.

And, I think its rats in the roof. I threw some poison up through the manhole so hopefully the buggers will have a feast and die. Hopefully soon.

Also, I'm tired and grumpy. Must be almost bedtime.

:cloud9: Do whatever you need to do to get much needed rest girl!

Hey @NFLDERS - I found the guy with the cartoon Drew Carey avatar!! :wave2:
https://www.disboards.com/threads/not-much-of-a-handy-man.3623934/.

In reading through his posts of 2015 I read that he did go through what he calls "A Surprise Divorce" and, in one he is giving comfort to another Diser whom talks of the hurtful pain. Thanks for this find. I seem to recall his avatar was depressing, and I suggested he shed it, and he did to the Jim Carey one. But, I'm still reading so.. maybe, maybe not. I find that Disers in general are a great support, in many threads. :worship:

Thanks @Micca for cluing me into this thread. Going to admit this thread after reading the last couple of pages seems like one that I don't know to go back 150 pages to see what it's all about :D-sooo I'm not going to :P.

I've seen the thread but never thought to click on it and see what it's all about.

I'm one of the DISers that @Micca met with the other day (which it was great to do so and you know get some BBQ) and boy was it chilly for August. Seriously my husband and I made ourselves some hot cappuccino when we got home..that is after driving through the heavy rain.

On a good note there was a tree limb that had been broken during a previous storm like 1 1/2 years ago and it just stuck on the tree hanging by a piece. We didn't want to pay to get it cut down and we hadn't gotten around to cutting it down carefully ourselves.....but it finally fell down :hyper: during the rain over the weekend.

I believe I've shared our cat bringing a rabbit into the house, it didn't end well.
Aww for the bunny :sad1:. I don't think we got to talking about our pets.

We have a cat--named Apollo. He's an indoor cat but he's good at killing spiders. And he helps us spot the house centipedes that we have as well .

Then there's the time when there had previously been a crack in the window seam down in the (unfinished) basement on the egress window and we had 2 snakes overtime get in. One time our cat killed the baby snake :faint: and the other time I watched the black snake wiggle its way through the crack :scared1:--it met its end via a shovel and paver stone. Luckily neither was a copperhead snake which we do have in our direct area.

Here's our cat-currently he is nearly 4 1/2 years old.

Apollo is beautiful! Thistle has cornered a snake or two as well, but these were just little guys--more like glorified worms. It happened a couple of years ago as the weather started cooling down in the fall they slithered into the basement to try to stay warm. Yikes on the centipedes! I've seen a couple of scorpions out on the bike/walking path near our house.

That's such a unique name for a cat-Thistle :)

Yeah it freaked me out when I first saw the centipedes but as I've come to learn we have a lot of things that I didn't think about when we bought our lot and had our house built. We have woods in the backyard so that's where some things come from.

I haven't seen scorpions thank goodness but a person I know who lived in Shawnee had a real big problem with them. And it's one of those things that I never thought to think about in our area was worrying about scorpions.

I walked past this copperhead multiple times without realizing it back in July 2015. Thank the heavens that I did not get bit. I was home alone too as Aaron was in TX at the time on field assignment.

And it was right by our side of our house :scared1::faint::eek:. Let's just say I'm much more aware of where I'm stepping in our backyard nowadays.

Post #201 one of mine. Where he had changed his Avatar. :)

DISER'S RULE!

This is our retriever Charlie! He will turn 70 the same year I do. :dog:

This is our retriever Charlie!
Charlie looks like he's 100% sweetheart! We came thisclose to adopting a retriever a time or two, great dogs.

I'll try to be good, and if I can't I'll try to be careful.
It doesn't have to be permanent, just long enough to make a good first impression. Then we can get back to our usual exciting selves.:rolleyes1

I've one behind each knee. The tightness is the lesser of my symptoms. The pain is 24/7 worsened in longer walks, and stairs are well, like the commercial aired here of a woman standing at the top of a set looking down in anguish because she can not navigate them. Trying to go up a set even more trying. I'm looking into laser therapy, and hoping it's not a snake oil hoax. There has been nothing my GP or another Dr. whom I did see as a second opinion can offer. Even draining them, the opinion of both Drs. is they'll just fill again. I've gained weight because of the lessened inactivity... sigh. :(

Edited: I'm elated to report that on returning from our mini trip, and getting on the scale; I lost 6 lbs of the 17 I'd gained since these cysts entered the fray. Plus, before we left I'd lost 4 over two weeks I pushed myself to limber up before we left. :dance3:

Only 3 lbs left to lose to get back to my weight before Baker's Cysts! Feeling better for it. :)

I invited both of them to hang out with us in ALDIO. So let's all try to act respectable for once if we get some new guests.:sunny::earboy2:

I'm not too happy with the 'respectable' part of this :rolleyes2 I know that some of us (mainly myself) are angelic but other ALDIOers like @ronandannette need a little help in that department :stir: Also, some of our lurkers like @low-key @kimblebee and @JoeA (where is he by the way, haven't seen him for like forever - is he holidaying with GDD?) are quite possibly beyond help at this point.

Also, did you give them a list of the rules? Like, 'liking' posts even when you don't like them just to be confusing?

and did you let them know that this thread is invisible to the mods so no point hitting the report button for any posts ;)

ETA: @low-key is a voyeur, not a lurker. Apologies again to you again Jason.
