2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

Hoping this isn't a repeat question - has anyone seen or bought the cookbook for this year? Could not find one yesterday and assumed they stopped doing it. I see today on ebay and the parks blog that they are. Would love to get one even (sniff) at a higher price than onsite if the items we liked are included. Is anyone that has one willing to share a picture of just the table of contents, or check if I listed the 3 to 4 items we loved the most?

I have it and can look up any you're wondering about. The table of contents is generic (starters, mains etc) and I think the index may be too dense for useful photos. I wouldn't give up hope - it may appear on the shop parks app. Feel free to message me with any recipes to look for.

This will be my first time going. I see they have Eat to the Beat dining package. I won't be doing that but was wondering if you can get a seat if you don't do it?

Thank you so much! We're looking forward to it.

This has been the year from hell for my mom: She lost her sister to lung cancer in the spring--and in the middle of that ordeal, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She beat it, and planning for Disney got her through a lot of the treatment. She's so excited to see WDW with her grandsons and do the Halloween party. And this is something special I planned just for the two of us. :)

(And that's why WDW means so much to me. Anticipating and planning for it has gotten my family through a lot!)

I am so happy your mother beat breast cancer. I truly know what you mean about the planning for disney helping. I too was diagnosed with breast cancer and after surgery, chemo, radiation and surgery again I went this January with my best friend(hubbies are good but best friend is better) Planning really takes your mind off things. I am fortunate to be going again the end of this month.....this time with hubby and this time the planning is taking my mind off my hubby's impending dialysis/kidney transplant. I love Disney therapy!!

Yes you should be fine. The dining package allows you to sit near the front, but there is plenty of seating.

She says it gave her something to focus on. I can understand that!

Have a wonderful time!

They did have reusable utensil set last year that came in a small plastic carrying case, but apparently it didn't sell well, so they did not offer it again this year.

We purchased two sets and used them again this year.

If I recall there was a problem with trying to bring the cutlery set back into the park through security.

For me I prefer getting a fresh fork each time I visit a booth as it seems more sanitary to me, but to each their own.
I have family members that are using the same disposable soap dispenser for 10+ years... now that seems extreme to me ...

We didn't have any problems bringing our sets into Epcot.

Food

Pulled Duck Confit - Wine & Dine Studio (9/10) - Tasty, tender, and a HUGE serving!

Teriyaki Glazed Spam Hash - Hawai'i (9/10, 8/10) - I can't believe one of my favorite items is a Spam dish!

Piggy Wings - Flavors From Fire (8/10) -

Kalua Pork Slider - Hawai'i (8/10)

Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle - Chocolate Studio (8/10)

Quesito - Islands of the Caribbean (8/10)

Tipsy Laird - Scotland (8/10)

Salmon BLT Sushi Roll - Japan (9/10, 5/10) - The first one was amazing. All I tasted the second time was lettuce and tomato.

Smoked Corned Beef - Flavors From Fire (9/10, 5/10) - Delicious the first time. The corned beef was borderline inedible the second time, thought the chips and cheese were still good.

Passion Fruit Cheesecake - Hawai'i (7/10)

Croissant aux Escargots - France (7/10) - So buttery!

Seared Scallops - Coastal Eats (7/10)

Spinach and Paneer Cheese Pocket - Africa (7/10)

Korma Chicken - India (7/10)

Crispy Pork Belly - Brazil (7/10)

Baked Shrimp Scampi Dip - Coastal Eats (7/10, 7/10) - Great flavor, but the Shrimp were chewy both times.

Traditional Scottish Lamb Stew - Scotland (7/10)

Seared Shrimp and Scallop Cake - Thailand (7/10)

Black Pepper Shrimp - China (7/10, 7/10)

Peanut Butter White Chocolate Mousse - Earth Eats (7/10)

Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese - Active Eats (7/10)

Warm Cheddar Cheese and Stout Dip - Ireland (7/10)

Cheese Trio - Cheese Studio (7/10)

Charcuterie in a Cone - Spain (7/10)

Crème Brûlée à la Confiture de Framboises - France (6/10) - Could have been a tad sweeter. Almost tasted like milk.

Savory Caramelized Onion Boursin Garlic Cheese Tart - Cheese Studio (6/10) - Huge portion, but only okay taste.

Lump Crab Cake - Coastal Eats (6/10)

Chocolate Picante - Flavors From Fire (6/10) - Dense, but good flavor.

Wasabi Shumai Steamed Pork Dumplings - Japan (6/10) - Wife HATED these.

Roasted Irish Sausage - Ireland (6/10)

Seafood Salad - Spain (6/10) - Quite oily with TONS of bell peppers. What little seafood there was tasted pretty good.

Grilled Tuna Tataki - Hawaii (6/10)

Beef Empanada - Patagonia (6/10) - A bit too sweet.

L'Orange Cotton Candy - Craft Beers (6/10)

Almond Breeze Strawberry Smoothie - Almond Orchard (6/10)

Sweet Pancake - Flavors From Fire (5/10) - Pancake was extremely dense.

Cauliflower Risotto - Almond Orchard (5/10)

Crispy Chicken - Farm Fresh (5/10)

Fresh Potato Pancake - Scotland (4/10) - Is the smoked salmon supposed to be hot? It was somewhat off putting.

Tequila and Chipotle Shrimp - Mexico (3/10) - The Shrimp were decent, but the thing they were served on was horrible.

Sweet Avocado Crema - Active Eats (2/10) - This just did not work for me. The wife liked it well enough.

Drinks

Mango Bubble Tea - China (9/10, 9/10, 8/10) - So refreshing! Third one didn't have as much mango flavor, but it was still good.

Moët & Chandon Brut Rosé Imperial Champagne - Almond Orchard (8/10)

Kurt Russell's Gogi Pinot Noir - Earth Eats (7/10)

Frozen Caipirinha - Brazil (6/10)

Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Yellow Label Brut Champagne - Almond Orchard (6/10)

I’ve updated the quoted list above with the things I tried today. The new additions are:

Pulled Duck Confit - Wine & Dine Studio (9/10)

Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle - Chocolate Studio (8/10)

Quesito - Islands of the Caribbean (8/10)

Loaded Mac ‘n’ Cheese - Active Eats (7/10)

Are the gift cards on lanyards and/or wrist bungees available online (or anywhere outside of WDW)? We're headed down a month from tomorrow (YIPPEEEEEE!!!!!), and I'd love to have all my ducks in a row so we can get right to pigging out. Thank you!

Is there a checklist floating around anywhere of the F&W menus to make it easy to remember what you want to try?
