DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Trying a local place - Jordano's pizza - for lunch. It's not a misspelling or attempt to knock off Chicago style pizza. It was good, crispy crust, and good seasoning.

Morning gents.
Turkey’s brining happily away.
Tomorrow that sucker gets stuffed, covered in thick cut bacon and basted with maple syrup (?

How do you know the turkey is happy to be in the brine? Did it tell you? :lmao: Sounds like you started drinking too early, if there is such a thing.

Qualifies as surviving a hurricane. Storms are cool especially when you are watching the ocean/gulf. Glad you are well prepared with the survival necessities.

.

News said 9 foot waves. Good think i had emergency beer. :lmao:

Here ya go. Problem solved.

Umm...no...never have liked the taste of tequila, so unless I can substitute vodka or rum or some, no to man law.

Ever had Cabo Wabo tequila? I still lick the salt before and shoot the lemon after, but it is the best tequila I ever had.

Morning brethren. Happy Thanksgiving to our Canadian Chapter, we expect to see post dinner photos where you all look about 8 months pregnant.

Have a great day.

London Out.

Morning all. Looks like all clear here as the staff are unloading umbrellas and beach chairs. The ocean is much calmer now.

Sadly, i already look 8 months pregnant. You don't want to see a picture of that. :scared1:

Happy Thanksgiving to the men up north. Had a great weekend get away to with the kids though UTC got crushed and the Cubs blew an 8th inning lead. Nice to just hang out for a couple of days out of town. Cubs need to take today's game but this 3:00 start time is BS and so is the American league games on FoxSports 1 - really FS1? Have a great week gents and you too Norm, enjoy the beach vaca.
Had a good birthday overall. Monsoon type rain and 50 mile wind gusts kind of limited what I could do outside. The Pirate Princess and I want out to one of our favorite Italian places for dinner. Sat at the bar, good food, good conversation. Ended the meal splitting a glass of Sambuca. Enjoyed it immensely.
Sounds like you had a real nice time - good to hear.
Anyone else see this in Dan's future?

::yes::
Made it. Left at 3:00 AM and had lunch and mojitos on the beach. Complete tourist area, but the views are great. I'll post you a picture once we make it into the room. Killing some time until it is cleaned with outlet tourist mall shopping. I think i may go back for more mojitos.

The Gulf is more rough than i have even seen it. Forecast has Nate going West of towards Louisiana and Mobile. We'll go to Mass tonight and then hunker down to get ready for what bad weather we will get, which looks like a lot of wind and rain starting in the early AM hours. I guess if the storm knock out the island bridges, we will just have to live here forever. :lmao:
Glad you got in and all worked out safely - enjoy

I think the umpire blew the 8th inning lead not the cubs. Ball straight down the pipe and called a ball would've been the 3rd strike and never had the home run. Sorry, just a tad bitter about that crap call.

Tonight should've been the end of the series if not for that.

Happy thanksgiving to my fellow Canadian DISDads.

You may remember DW and I cooked turkey yesterday for the first time ever (wife's sister was only able to visit for dinner on Sunday). Anyway we tried the upside down roasting that Martha Stewart recommended and it seemed to work, it was really good turkey, juicy and tasty.

So FYI tying the legs together makes the insides juicy and flipping upside down seems to help, but that manoeuvre can be a little tricky.

Glad it came out good. How is it that Martha gets credit when I mentioned it?? :sad2: :lmao:

I use the oven mitts, pick the turkey up with my hands basically upside down and then flip it over. Again, if you wait too long, then the turkey is already too tender and will try to fall apart on you...did that ONCE and learned my lesson.

Hope all the rest of my Northern neighbors had a great day.
