Sad to say that my very first Christmas time trip was postponed to January 8th. My dad has a medical emergency where he’s been on life support for 4 days now. I can’t imagine leaving next week for our trip even if he does wake up. Looks like I’ll have to try again next year. Hopefully the calm before the Star Wars Land storm.

Christmas decorations are appearing on Main Street. So far I'm not seeing garlands and it's making me sad. There's really no excuse not to have them this year. Here's hoping they're just saving them for last! Garland Watch 2017......

I've been a lurker for years but finally created an account so I can comment on this thread! Just saw that Disney released hours for the day before our trip, and assuming they'll be the same all week, I'm very disappointed. One of the busiest weeks of the year (w/o 12/18) and DL hours are 9-9 and CA 9-8? Are they really expecting low enough crowds to reduce hours? (Last year they were open 8-12 the same Monday.) It doesn't make any sense to me. Almost every other day in December seems to be 8-12. Still super psyched for our trip but not happy about this!

Oh those pictures make me soooo excited!!!!! Since I was a kid I've always wanted to go see it decorated and this is the year!!

The 18th is the first day for all AP blackout's for every pass except Signature plus. I think the crowds will be pretty low......busy....but not packed like the week before....

Debating on getting the in room celebration, as we have gotten it before and still have all the swag. We will for sure get some flowers. We have done this before and they are always really nice arraignments that last all week and really brighten up the room!

We are officially going Dec. 10-13, staying at DLH for the first time!! We'll spend a half day in the parks on the 10th, then full days 11th & 12th, and have breakfast at Goofy's kitchen on the 13th before heading out! We have fantasmic BB & wine country WOC booked and I've read up on MP as well! It's been a few years so we're very excited!

The 18th is the first day of AP blackout's for every pass except Signature plus. I think the crowds will be pretty low......busy....but not packed like the week before....

The 15th is the first blackout date for both SoCal APs, the 16th is the first blackout date for deluxe (which took me by surprise and screwed up our plans), and the Signature blackout starts the 18th.

Absolutely! I love him!

But I am also in the group who always advocates doing something besides Disneyland when you visit if you are from outside the area.

They may change them but I think they expect lower crowds then the week before. The week we are going started out with less hours then they changed it to 8-12 so keep checking back
