NEWS 5/17: Late 2019 itineraries released - link in post #1 (2020 watch thread will start soon)

On a different note, I am pleased with the changes to the 9 night Alaska. Hubbard is far more impressive than Tracy/Endicott Arm so the inclusion of Victoria and Sitka is a welcome one in my opinion.

I am disappointed by the lack of diversity in the European ports, specifically the Mediterranean. I would love it if they would go back to the Greek Isles but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

One thing I wanted to mention that is new (or relatively new?):

If you are a DVC Member, but first time cruiser, you can book at the same time as the Silver Castaway Club Members (March 7).

Also, if you are a Golden Oak (Disney's high end residential community at WDW, not sure if we have any of those here on the DIS...) resident, you can book at the same time as the Platinum Castaway Club Members.
If only I were Golden Oak......:):)

They also added adventure by Disney insiders who can book at the same time as silver

The word you are looking for is kid at heart and children don’t have any money. As I said before I would rather spend my money on me and my so and not a child. Not having kids does mean I can continue to enjoy Disney world abd and dcl long after others get “priced out.”
That's fine but mabey have a little empathy for the other side, and not refer to them in negative terms.

So it looks like I will be able to change my Alaskan cruise from this year to next year before my deadline of March 9th. I currently have a concierge one bedroom stateroom booked. For someone that has sailed in this type of room before on the Wonder, what deck or even specific stateroom would you recommend?

On the Wonder all suites and concierge are on the 8th deck.

Do you have a 1 bedroom suite? The family concierge veranda is also 1 bedroom. We had a 1 bedroom suite on the Magic (same design) and loved the layout of 8532.

Eyeing the 11 night Norway/Iceland cruise. Now to decide how important a verandah is...

Are DU agents usually able to give you a few price options for different categories?

Absolutely. If you are eyeing that and another one you can get quotes for different cruises as well, but keep in mind they can only hold one (maybe it is a couple? Hopefully someone knows...) so indicate which is most important to you.

Anything that is below a quiet area... we were in 8550 in January so I would NOT recommend 8548 or 8048 at least for sure. We heard tons of chairs scraping above us during the day and it was really annoying. Bad enough that my husband said he may never want to do concierge again since its all on deck 8 (Im sure I can find something quieter, we changed from a 7A when they reclassified the rooms so there weren't many choices...)

It is a concierge 1 bedroom suite that has a living room separate from the bedroom with a verandah.

That’s the one I have my eye on. I’m hoping it’ll be $7500 for 3 people on a verandah. But I think that’s wishful thinking. I have a placeholder ready for Monday!

I paid $7500 for 2 people in a ocean view room on deck 2 for the 11 night last summer. That was with an on board booking discount.

I was on this cruise last summer. I always have a verandah room but did and ocean view for this cruise with a large porthole window. It was the best choice. It was cold and windy and rainy at times so I don’t think for this cruise the verandah would have been worth it.

The comment was specific to people in Facebook groups saying Walt is rolling over in his grave at how greedy and heartless Disney has become. Not everyone with children.
Children or no children I think people have the right to lament about the pricing without being belittled for it. I'm sure when Monday rolls around there will be plenty of teeth gnashing on both sides.

It will be several thousand dollars more. I guess it depends on how much you enjoy sitting out in the cold. The only time I spent outside on that cruise was too run around deck 4.

Those are very nice suites! That's what ours was...there are 2 layouts..8532, 8032 and I believe another pair of cabins have the layout which is described as "sideways." Honestly, I loved our room-the location was perfect, I heard no noise and it was gorgeous. There are youtube videos of the suites if you really want to get super excited about the cruise and where you're staying (yes, I might have watched them more than once :) ).

In 2016 we paid $6000 for 2 adults in a 10C (deluxe inside Deck 2) for a Northern European itinerary. It would've been about $7500 to add a third to the cabin. Not to be a downer, but if that is the budget you are wanting to stick to, that is probably what it will get you. We're also going to book that cruise, I'm hoping it will be around $6500 for 2 adults in a 10C again.
These are the opening day prices from 2017 for a very similar itinerary. You might get an inside room for $7500 for 3. I am hoping that the prices won't be as high, but the 2019 cruise is in July and I think that is a desirable time to cruise.Screenshot 2018-03-02 14.35.03.png

For some of these prices I would rather do a adventure by Disney in that country and get more bang for my buck.
