Oh, that's a good idea. I didn't realize I could do that.

I did something similar time at BLT, standard view. I deleted everything and just put in that we would be grateful to have a lovely view to enjoy with a cup of coffee in the mornings. We got exactly that, a fabulous view. I would definitely go the route gluestickgirl says.

20 days....20 days...I can make it through the next 20 days.....

Arriving one day after you (20 Days today) and I am on the 'how in the world will I get everything ready in time' mode. This might have a lot to do with a daughter who is very into Disneybounding and her appeals for lots of matching mouse ears. Cannot wait for a Lapu Lapu. I think by then I will need it.

OMG just looked it up! Sounds/looks SO good! I think that will be my ‘must try’ drink!!

Hey guys! So I was wondering if Poly does anything special for 4th of July! We were planning on that day being a ‘resort day’ and I’m curious if there will be fun activities for the kids!

Also, for those that have been there for the 3rd and 4th, this is our first 4th of July trip... being we’re at the Poly, is it worth it to venture to EPCOT for the fireworks on the 4th, or do you think both days watching fireworks at Poly is just as good?

Thanks in advance!!!

Not sure if mentioned above, but last year on 7/4 they had a DJ out on the main beach area that played songs/games for a couple of hours pre-fireworks. A few characters (Goofy and Donald) made an appearance at one point as well.

It was tons of fun - awesome vibe, great for the kiddos, etc. The weather last year wasn’t too hot that evening and storms flirted with the area but never got that close - it was a great night!

Obviously no guarantees they do that again as things can always change, but I hope they do.

Last year, we watched the fireworks both 7/3 and 7/4 from Poly. It’s a really good fireworks show, but it is somewhat short (11ish minutes). In a perfect world, I would rather watch 7/3 MK fireworks and 7/4 Epcot fireworks.... but ultimately we found we’d just rather hang around Poly both days than venture over to Epcot. Perhaps when my kiddos are older!

Hope that helps! :darth:

Thanks for sharing your experience last year! Sounds like an amazing day for the kids! I’m content with my decision of making the 4th a resort day! I really hope the DJ and characters return! My kids would love that! Will they give a list of activities for the day in advance?

I’m also leaning towards just staying at Poly for the 4th Fireworks. Our friends are doing their best to try and get us to go over to EPCOT, even offered to pick us up, but the main reason we picked Poly was so we didn’t have to go anywhere for fireworks those two days!! (They chose to stay at BC instead of switching to Poly with us) We think the 4th will be the new addition to our new yearly trips, and feel it won’t be an issue if we put it off this year. Just have to find a way to tell our friends 8-) Maybe I should try using the force :ssst::darth:

It’s hard when people you are traveling with stay at a different resort. My DD and her friend were originally staying at ASMusic to save money, but then we wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the pool together. We spend a lot of time at our resort, so it would have created all sorts of issues. Also, they would be using different transportation and would not be arriving places at the same time as us. So, I helped them out financially, and now we have two rooms at the Poly.

I hope it works out well for you and your friends.

Thanks for your response!!! That was so nice of you to do for your friend!!! Happy it worked out for all of you!!!

I completely agree! We actually always stay at the same resort every year with them! But typically we only go in November- so I think we threw a wrench into things when we told them we’re doing 2 weeks in June/July this year. We weren’t going to be together at all, but we convinced them to switch to BC for the first week so we could be together!! We love split stays, so it was our choice to move resorts (they wanted to stay). Was looking forward to just enjoying the fireworks from the beach and not having to go anywhere, but they’re really disappointed and want us to go with them to EPCOT on the 4th. I feel bad, and I’m probably just being lazy, but I think we’ll just stay put.

You aren’t being lazy, I would do the same thing. Maybe you could watch fireworks with them on the 3rd as a compromise...or not. Enjoy your vacation!

Haven't stayed here since 2012 . Thinking about staying here again (Just got back from a stay at the GF, but did find myself missing the POLY). I see there are some changes. Did the hot tub replace the old kid's splash pad? I see there is a new splash area. What was in that spot? Just lounge chairs? I see they redid the quiet pool and added a hot tub there too?

Also, is there a game room? Where is it? And what buildings are now club level? Is there a club level thread or just post on here? And have ALL of the rooms been refurbished?

Hi! Love the Poly!
I can’t answer all your questions but:
Hawaii is the CL building
There is no arcade that I know of. My kids love the resort arcades and miss it there.
There is a hot tub with the quiet pool.
There is a CL thread and it is super helpful as is this thread.
I thought rooms were refurbished in 2015 but not 100% sure.

Have fun planning!

I’ll take a stab as well:

No game room, they made that space into Trader Sam’s.

Standard Club Level rooms are in the Hawaii longhouse. There are also a few suites and other special rooms that are also considered CL in the Tonga longhouse (which is a tiny building that most people overlook).

As PP noted, the CL thread here on DISBoards is quite active and is a great resource: https://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-club-level-cl-information-and-questions.3414590/

Resort side rooms were last renovated 2013ish. Three longhouses (the three on the TTC side of the resort) were converted to DVC Villas / Studios and were completely re-done 2015ish.

There is a hot tub at both the Lava and Oasis Pool. The hot tub at the Oasis Pool is materially larger than the one at the Lava Pool.

Honestly, my memory has totally faded as to the layout/configuraton of what the current splash pad space was before it was made a splash pad! Sad because that really wasn’t that long ago!

I really wish there was an arcade. That’s the one thing my 9 yo begs me to do every trip.
The one at GF is so small but we have monorailed to Contemporary to use theirs.

Ok another question...is Tokelau a regular building still? That's where I stayed in 2012. But I see a map going around does not have Tokelau listed. Also Tikiman didn't seem to have Tokelau listed when he describes all the buildings. So what's the story with Tokelau?
