*** The Official September 2018 Thread *** let's get started to have some fun

Our flight lands at 8a. Just doing a pool day at Pop and dinner at Homecomin' at 5p. Shopping for a little bit after and then probably go back to watch the movie by the pool :)

We will be at Pop too! I had no idea they did a movie by the pool. Sounds fun!

I'm running my crew ragged on day one lol. Luckily we can sleep in a little on 9/2.
Believe me..if it was just me and my son (5 years old), we'd be going to a park. My best friend decided to come with her 1 year old though so we decided to just take it easy that day since we have to be up at 2:30a that morning and we won't even get to sleep until 11p-midnight the night before lol.

Does anyone know if you can go to the pools at Stormalong Bay if you're staying at the Boardwalk? I doubt it, but thought I'd check. The clown face slide scares me a little. :rotfl:

Oh, and I'm at 19 days now!! :cheer2:

No, only resort guests staying at Yacht Club or Beach Club can use the Stormalong Bay pool.

I was super surprised that they even offered a Free Dining bounceback! I agree. Once Galaxy’s Edge opens, it is going to be INSANE. We aren’t Star Wars fans at all (never even seen a movie), so it doesn’t really interest us. I’m hoping once it opens, Disney will still offer free dining but I feel like it’s unlikely. We have to take advantage while we can, right? Have you stayed at Port Orleans? I’ve heard it’s super nice and it looks so peaceful! I think Boardwalk may be the one we do on our anniversary trip in a couple years.

We are returning to Port Orleans Riverside for a second stay there this September after a wonderful stay Nov 2017. Myself and DD7 adore this resort. We like to stay in the Mansions area, so I can’t comment on the Alligator Bayou side. We had a Royal Room last time (her 1st WDW trip) and it was awesome. It’s not every day you have fireworks at the push of a button on your headboard! Very pretty, very peaceful, loved the ferry to Disney Springs. Love that we can use pools at both Port Orleans properties. DD is a huge fan of the water slide at Riverside. Love the beignets at French Quarter- and now they are Mickey shaped! Everything is tastier when it’s Mickey Shaped! Bus service was good, though they do combine both P.O. resorts in the evening so sometimes a bit longer coming back from parks, but usually we are happy to be sitting anyway. I think Port Orleans may have ruined us for the value resorts, so be warned! LOL

Love this! We may have to book this one for next year! I didn't know about the ferry to Disney Springs or about the water slide. My kids would love! I don't think I have ever heard one bad review about POR. We usually stay at Pop but since my youngest will be 3 next year, they can no longer accommodate a family of 5. We decided moderate or deluxe would be best. I think you may have convinced me to give this one a go next year!

25 days to go here!! Magic Bands arrived today, and ME tags last week. It feels so real and also like it'll never be here!

The only thorn in my side is that i can't get my BoG lunch order to go through! I do not want to waste any time putting our order through when we get there, but I can't get the order to work on my phone's browser or on Safari or Chrome on my computer. I just get "Try Again Later" messages. So frustrating!

So my nephew and wife are thinking of canceling on me. I am trying to convince them to come and go to the party with me and not go to the parks. Which means I have some ADRs I may be dropping. One for sure I will drop is 11:35 BOG for 3 on Sept 23 if anyone is interested in coordinating a drop time. Am looking for 1-2 people to join me for a PPO at Garden Grill on Sept 24 - I really don't want to drop that one.

If they don't come and go to party, can I change one of the tickets to another nite and try to sell the other one to someone?

@FrankieWinthrop I adore your profile pic! So you'll get this, today is our Hershel day!!!

We love it so much we chose it again this time even though it didn’t qualify for free dining (though it is included in the offer next year I believe). We won’t be back for a few years and there was nowhere else in this price range we loved as much! Going to check out the tandem surrey bikes this time, devoting more time to the pool & water slide this trip too (DD’s request). They also have movies under the stars, campfire on de bayou, & s’mores! We haven’t tried any of those amenities yet. So much to do! Riverside is a bit more spread out while FQ is more compact. Both are lovely.

Three weeks from today, my daughter and I will either be in a pool or eating lunch at Disney World! Can’t believe it is coming up. This summer flew by!
I know! This summer went way too fast! I mean, I wanted it to hurry up so we can get to our WDW vacation but then again we love the summer months! We arrive 3 days after you and hitting HS after our Chef Mickey's brunch.
