I love credit cards so much!

Happy day for all you bonus getters today! :rainbow:

I keep checking to see if DH has the 10k pending for referring me to the CSR. Earning next statement.....12 points. Womp womp. I wonder if they are going to deny him the points? I really feel like they aren't going to give me my 50k as punishment for breaking the DD rule.
And I'm POSITIVE @miztressuz will never see her points for my now defunct CSP app.

I still haven't been able to make a $3k partial payment on my account, and it's not like I'm trying to cycle money or anything. I still have the 31.5k limit they initially gave me!

So odd...so all they will let you pay is the entire balance ...and yea the credit limits are WOW...I reduced mine within a week

We do want to see Paris (typical tourist attraction) but I have heard not as many speak English in France. London would be good too.

I know I'm this was quite a few pages back, but I wanted to tell you that we didn't have any problems when we were there this past spring. We also visited Germany for a bit and had many more issues there than in Paris.

Are there any partner airlines that United miles can be used for? If so, please point me to some easily-understood directions :-)

If you do a flight search on the UA site and tick the box for an award search, partner flights that are bookable using UA miles will show up. That’s how I found the Business Saver awards on Swiss for our Africa flights. More award options (including partner options) will show up if you have a UA credit card and are logged in to your UA account when you search.

It's really the culmination of that strategy I charted out back in June 2016... I don't know how I got so lucky to stay one step ahead of these Chase rules. Had I delayed a few weeks the 48mo. and death of DD would've kicked in and I would have been so frustrated after waiting 28 months to get here!!

My first positive chase news - our points went pending too after meeting on 9/3.

I know it was tinfoil hat but the fact that so many went pending the same day? A few days after the Disney loop hole closed? I’m just saying. I invest in tin foil.
I said this yesterday to somebody else too - I don't think Disney has anything to do with this. I appreciate the "tin foil" though, haha. Disney redemptions could not possibly account for a large enough percentage of Chase redemptions that they'd withhold URs for an additional 6 weeks while they implemented a change...right?

PLUS how many people were specifically waiting on that bonus to book their Disney trip? I didn't need my DD points to book my trip, I was just waiting for discounts to come out in Oct. I think the Disney changes could likely have something to do with the whole Expedia changeover (maybe). I'm chalking the UR delay up to either (1) a system glitch/issue or (2) and this is far fetched...but something related to Chase's plans to kill the Double Dip (but again this is far fetched in my mind).

At any rate - no disrespect to anybody who feels differently - I just don't think the Disney UR change had anything to do with delayed bonuses.

Fun Discussion Question:
Which "churning high" do you find best/most exhilarating?
1) Approved for the card (you like me, you really like me!)
2) Receiving the card (yay the mail is here!)
3) Meeting the MSR (i.e. completing the last purchase to finish the MSR!)
4) Seeing the bonus points post/go pending (whew...they didn't shut me down or use the T&Cs against me, lol)
5) Redeeming the points (not the physical act of traveling, rather the on paper act of redeeming, lol)

Any thoughts??? Figured this might be a fun discussion for our group here :)

1)

Getting approved is always expected but still makes me feel good.

Yes, I understand that, but in order for me to do that I have to rebuild my credit and y'all seem really smart when it comes to credit cards, so I thought I would ask, I would love to start leveraging CC rewards for large returns in the form of travel points too.... We have a trip to Disney in December, Vacation plan in July, a wedding for son in Sept, and I am planning on booking a 14 day land cruise to Alaska in 2020, I have a better job and a better handle of our finances now and thought y'all could help a girl out.. :) I am still young and have time to learn. :)

if you do end up needing to apply for a secured card, look at Discover. After 6 months of on-time payments, it should convert to an unsecured card (and report to the credit agencies as if it had always been an unsecured card).

Number 2 followed closely by number 1. Love holding it for the first time.
