I totally agree with your knowledge on fraud based CC -> GC. It is a big problem for the stores and CC companies. It's just that she didn't connect the drivers license to anything (stolen CC web base, etc.) she just looked at my license, scanned me that the face and photo matched and pushed a button. Not much of a security check! And I paid cash for the Happy G. GC. (that she didn't look at either). She went through the motions but didn't connect the dots.I believe the common method for fraud is to use a stolen CC to purchase a GC and then use that GC to buy a "clean" GC, which is can't easily be traced back to the stolen CC. A person who stole a CC to buy a GC would not want his/her driver's license examined in conjunction with the GC purchased with a stolen CC.
BJ's deal is over for now.
I just got my 2 orders of Disney GC’s from BJ’s in the mail. Each order was supposed to have 22 $25 cards but one of them was 10 ($250) short. The packing slip says they shipped 22 but there were only activation slips for the 12 cards I received. The package was not tampered with so the clerk who packed them must have made a mistake. Anyone ever have something like this happen?
It is my 5th shipment since these recent 10% off BJ’s deals the first time this happened. I’m hoping it is a mistake and that it is easy to track down. I doubt someone would put their job at BJ’s in jeopardy to pocket $250 in Disney GCs but you never know. Unfortunately CS was closed when I called so I will try in the morning.Ughh that's horrible to heard. Sure hope my shipment has all 40 cards. Did you call BJs and complain?
Whoa! That sucks, hope you get it cleared up without too much hassle. In all the shipments I've had of GC from Bj's over the years that has never happened. Fingers crossed for you that it was an honest mistake on their part, and a quick fix. Maybe someone misread 22 for 12?It is my 5th shipment since these recent 10% off BJ’s deals the first time this happened. I’m hoping it is a mistake and that it is easy to track down. Thanks for the heads up. I just bought one. I also tried to login to my husbands account and I don’t see anything there. Are only some customers getting this or is it that I am using the same phone I used for mine? For those in Texas, check your HEB digital coupons. $25 HEB GC with purchase of $100 Disney GC. Expires 11/28! (If you don't need Disney, it also works with Nike, GameStop, ThinkGeek, Macys, Barnes & Noble, Nordstrom, and Ulta.) Limit one.
You won’t be out the money, you will be out the time. If BJs can’t figure it out file a complaint with your credit card company.ugh. Waited about 50 minutes for BJ's customer service and let them know I had 10 cards missing. They said they would look into it and get back to me within 1-2 business days. Fingers crossed that they can track this stuff. If they can't then there is nothing to stop their workers from pocketing them which makes 0 sense for the company. For the moment, I am hopeful...
I have been told I cannot do this. Pretty sure it is true for all HEBs, but I was only told this at one and didn't try another one. Just curious if you have the Disney gift card offer in your account? I have 3 accounts I have access to - me, husband, sister- and I only found it in my account. I "clipped" the digital coupon early this morning on mine and then looked later at the other 2.Does anyone remember if we can use an HEB GC to purchase another GC?
