Went to a different HD this morning. Did 3 transactions of $50 and no issues or popups. I think the key is to keep it to small amounts. I never had an issue at the first HD with the $50's either, only when I did $150.

I believe the common method for fraud is to use a stolen CC to purchase a GC and then use that GC to buy a "clean" GC, which is can't easily be traced back to the stolen CC. A person who stole a CC to buy a GC would not want his/her driver's license examined in conjunction with the GC purchased with a stolen CC.

I totally agree with your knowledge on fraud based CC -> GC. It is a big problem for the stores and CC companies. It's just that she didn't connect the drivers license to anything (stolen CC web base, etc.) she just looked at my license, scanned me that the face and photo matched and pushed a button. Not much of a security check! And I paid cash for the Happy G. GC. (that she didn't look at either). She went through the motions but didn't connect the dots.

Ugh I think I am done with Happy Cards.

I went to the closest Office Depot and they were out of Happy Guy. So I bought Happy Lady. Went to a close by Office Max and picked up 3 Happy Guy Cards -- the cashier wanted to see my license to verify it matched my credit card. Okay. Office Depot didn't what can you do?

Went to HD to get Disney GC. They didn't have any. They may have stopped stocking them because they didn't have any last time Happy Cards had a promo either. I can go to the next closest HD and hope they have Disney GCs.

Then went across the street to BB&B to use the Happy Lady cards. They only had 8 x $25.00 Disney cards (I had 2 x $150.00 Happy Lady cards). The cashier refused to ring them through as a Visa, even though I showed her the writing on the back. She was loudly asking the other cashiers if they thought it would be okay to put them through and they all decided it would be best to call the manager. I waited and waited. The manager came and said "just put them through as credit, as long as they work it's fine". They worked, so it ended up okay. Not my favorite transaction and I still have $100.00 left on one of the Happy Lady cards.

BJ's deal is over for now.

I was hoping this one would run over like the Halloween BJ's deal did. I only ordered $200 worth to test it out due to the number of issues people were reporting in the BJ's thread. Happily my cards arrived today without issue - all now nicely consolidated onto one card. Oh well, guess I'm missing some savings but now I will feel more comfortable buying these as they come up throughout the year. Some savings are better than no savings.

I see that 2 of my 3 orders (each with 10 $50) were shipped. The 3rd I took advantage of the $20 diamond earring with 400 purchase so assume that is why that one delayed. I need about 5k for my annual passes next year so now up to 3200 between Dosh deals and now chase and BJ. Can’t wait for trip next year. Thanks to all who helped me onto Dosh and BJs.

BJ's usually has some type of GC on sale during the holiday season, at the moment it's just not very Disney related. There's 25% off Build a Bear, Boston Market, Krispy Kreme and Fanatics .com in the Extreme Values section

Online is also more apt to have discounts than in store. I looked in-store today and everything was back to regular discounts but the online has some new ones.

I just got my 2 orders of Disney GC’s from BJ’s in the mail. Each order was supposed to have 22 $25 cards but one of them was 10 ($250) short. The packing slip says they shipped 22 but there were only activation slips for the 12 cards I received. The package was not tampered with so the clerk who packed them must have made a mistake. Anyone ever have something like this happen?

I doubt someone would put their job at BJ’s in jeopardy to pocket $250 in Disney GCs but you never know. Unfortunately CS was closed when I called so I will try in the morning.

Whoa! That sucks, hope you get it cleared up without too much hassle. In all the shipments I've had of GC from Bj's over the years that has never happened. Fingers crossed for you that it was an honest mistake on their part, and a quick fix. Maybe someone misread 22 for 12?

Thanks for the heads up. I just bought one. I also tried to login to my husbands account and I don’t see anything there. Are only some customers getting this or is it that I am using the same phone I used for mine?

You won’t be out the money, you will be out the time. If BJs can’t figure it out file a complaint with your credit card company.

Went to my other HD and was able to purchase 9 x $50.00 Disney GCs with the Happy Guy GCs. My first purchase at the self check-out I did 2 x $50.00 Disney GCs and it triggered the girl to come over and ask to see my license. Lesson learned. Each of the remaining GCs I did in single purchases, much to the chagrin of everyone waiting in the self check-out line . SO much easier than BB&B. I *may* purchase another $150.00 Happy Guy GC and purchase another 3 Disney GCs before the promo is over.

I have been told I cannot do this. Pretty sure it is true for all HEBs, but I was only told this at one and didn't try another one. Just curious if you have the Disney gift card offer in your account? I have 3 accounts I have access to - me, husband, sister- and I only found it in my account. I "clipped" the digital coupon early this morning on mine and then looked later at the other 2.

Nope. They shut that down awhile ago. It used to work, but no more. It's okay, I shop there regularly so $25 for groceries is still a big win!
