Zootopia expansion coming to Shanghai

Zootopia presence at Planet Watch was fine before, albeit very minimal, mostly signs. Expanding the presence a bit would be something, but I don’t see them doing anything major back there while the train is the only way there and back. The train doesn’t have the capacity to support a popular land.

good point about the train - at least not how it is now (would need to create more of a loop I'd think and have multiple, trains, etc. .... could be done but probably not an area they really want to invest significant $ into

Zootopia makes more sense to Animal Kingdom than Pandora. The main characters in the film are animals, unlike with Avatar whose story is set around a human and an alien. It is more about their love story (like Titanic) than the animals they encounter. And the Banshees are just their form of transportation. They're are like a horse or car that helps the characters get around their planet.
The land isn’t set during the film though.

Yes but none of the characters from the film have an impact or any appearance in the land.

The main character for the River ride is a Nav'i, so it's obvious they still play a major role in the story and land. As for the banshee one, humans are linked to an Avatar. Which is a Human/Nav'i hybrid.

And last, but not least all of the walkabout characters are human.

I’m confused on how this is an argument.

What's funny is when I said I didn't think Pandora fit in AK, people chimed in with how it was originally Beastly Kingdom and it even has a dragon on the sign. Some of the same people are saying Zootopia doesn't fit?

You guys crack me up sometimes.

but they are very different things

Beastly Kingdom was mythical creatures but would have shown those creatures in the settings or habitats they would be found in and acting like they would in their natural setting ... while Zootopia is about showing animals not in their natural setting nor acting like they would in their natural setting but acting like humans and living all together in a city

I get thinking both could fit, I get thinking neither should fit - but it is also possible to think either but not both fits

Two different IPs. To me Pandora the way it was built fits incredibly well. Zootopia as presented in its film would not work in my opinion.

I'm a little late to this party, but I am enjoying this thread tremendously more than I expected to!

Most of the film takes place in a jungle. That sounds like a really boring landscape for a land. The King Louie ruins does sound pretty cool, but it couldn't really be the only structure in a possible land. It would be a great queue or structure along Kali though.

Zootopia has more standout structures that people remember from the film.

I am also very much on Team Jungle Book. I can picture like an animatronic Kaa popping out of trees, and like others have said, an overhaul with Baloo for Kali and a dark ride for the temple or even something with Shere Khan. Plus I need them to bring back Baloo for a character meet ASAP.

I as much as I like Zootopia, I have to agree with those who say this maybe isn't the best fit. I would much rather see Australia (preferably with Rescuers, please! I've wanted to see them in Disney since I was little) Jungle Book, Lion King, and even Brother Bear I think would be really neat.

Also, one thing kept popping into my head while I was reading this - Disney has Fox now right? :rotfl:

I think that a Jungle Book Kali ride would be awesome. Kali is in need of a retheme, it's so boring looking. There is little to nothing to look at on the sides of the river. It almost makes me want to read a book while I'm on it, if it didn't get so wet. But it doesn't deserve a whole land.

Zootopia is the golden egg that Mickey should bend over and let out. Its made over a billion dollars worldwide and it has only existed for about 2-3 years. So nothing about it is old hat like most of their other animal stuff.
