ATTQOTD: Yes, I have emotions during a race (only marathons).
They generally occur at the following points:
1. At the start. The National Anthem finishes, the fireworks go off (if Disney). I think 'I am so d**n lucky to be here'. Healthy, able to afford it, a DW that tolerates it.
B. The finish. It's such a relief. Personal best, personal worst, it doesn't matter.
iii. If not at the finish, when I see my first family member. It might be my DW or my brother or DSIL. Just the thought that someone waited around for me.
