Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

With basically 3 weeks until 4th of July, are there any chances that those rumours can be true based on the current state of the stations and testing?

I'm not a contractor, I just play one on the internet...

Mechanically speaking, the system looks ready to go. It's going to depend on Disney's ability to finish the stations.

And all the weeks of staff training. The main station at CB looks like it has a lot of work left, at least compared to the others.

Also, they are very shallow draft so they could get near the shoreline etc. if required to evacuate all of the gondolas.
I wonder how deep Hourglass lake is. The gondola are a lot closer to the water than a lot of diving platforms I've been off.

I was kinda shocked at how low they are over the water at PoP/AOA. Not in a bad way, it was just lower than I imagined.

I can’t get over how cool they look! The designs are very fun. It’s been all the talk on the buses etc. Anytime they are testing I hear tons of people talking about them. I think they will be very popular.

Does anyone know where exactly in Caribbean Beach the station is located? Apologies if this was covered previously I'm new.

It would be great if the system had some soft openings by mid July. I would be surprised if it wasn't up-and-running by SWGE opening in late August. With those crowds, it will be needed.

Basically behind Jamaica. Jamaica 41 would be the closest building. Aruba 56 would be close to the Riviera station. Hope that helps.

I'm starting to think the crowd level for SWGE might be more hype than actual people. There will be an initial rush when first opened, but I'd suspect it will be about the same as Pandora in the long run. There aren't any special modes of transportation needed for Animal Kingdom since Pandora opened. With the same SWGE opening at Disneyland, I just can't image that many star wars nerds generating an overwhelming force at both Disneys (how's that for a play on words).

The Skyliner will be a cool addition, but I think the current bus system could probably handle the additional HS crowds by simply adding more buses to the mix.
