Milestone: Took 21 months but finally earned enough Speedway points for a free $25 gas card

Slowest return ever probably, but did it all from gas purchases. Just switched to reloading a Speedway GC for the points and discount (minor) with my CC instead of paying at the pump. Still earned the multiplier for gas purchases on the CC and earned extra Speedway points for the same purchase. So it's only cost me a extra minute or so on the trips I needed to reload first. I can live with that kind of return.

I've learned not only big things but also small changes on this thread that all add up!

Worth checking your Southwest account to see if you got gifted A list status. I checked this morning and saw I was upgraded till 6/30/2020. Seems to basically give early bird check in.

That’s awesome. I checked my account no go and then DH’s and got status pending. What the heck! His CCs close tomorrow and the points should be reporting soon for CP so I hope this doesn’t mess him up.

I love your goals. We can't even decide what's next in theory, so I can't even start to work on the points. Africa is on the list (but less likely than some other options) so I'd love to hear what you are planning. As for the Galapagos, a friend sailed SilverSea and loved it, but it was cash and expensive. I saw that Celebrity has a very small ship out there that could perhaps be booked with points, but I would think that Lindblad would do the area so much better

Our experience on Lindblad/National Geographic in Antarctica last year was outstanding. We spoke with other travelers on board that had experienced the Galapagos with them and they felt it was the best trip they’d had. I imagine Antarctica roped that afterwards LOL

Africa is posing a challenge because what I want to do would likely require more time than I have. Since my dates aren’t very flexible and it is a holiday period I don’t really want to rely on FF miles and award space. I still haven’t really decided if I am going to attempt what I want or compromise. It is very possible I will use MR points to pay for business airfare and use and take advantage of the 35% MR back with the business Plat card. Many of my options require super high taxes and fees IF there is even award space for my dates. For that I would pay with points and earn butt in seat miles.

So my Arrival + AF has posted. If I downgrade to the no fee will I still earn 2x on everything and be able to cash out on travel expenses? I’d like to keep a MC in my mix.

The no fee is just called Arrival. It does get 2x on travel and is chip and pin. Other transactions are 1x points.

I downgraded to this several months ago.

Has anyone ever dealt with Hyatt blackout dates... even though they’re not supposed to blackout anything? I’ve been interested in booking the Grand Hyatt Kauai for next Christmas and they show no availability at all. I find it hard to believe the entire hotel is sold out for that week a year out. Any ideas?

I wish you could play clue with 2 people. We don’t own it since it’s been just the two of us

we stopped playing clue as a family a while back.... my DS1 always solved the mystery in about 3 seconds..... still don't know how he does it so fast (I guess he's a logical thinker?) I love board games but as my kids grew up we play them less and less,my DH hates board games.

I purchased a 1 year membership through a link that included a $20 e-gift card to Sam’s. I used my card with the $25 offer. This effectively brought the $45 membership fee to $0. I did a Google search to find the $20 e-gift card offer from Sams and applied for membership directly on that page.
The $20 e-gift card was emailed to me within a few hours of applying. I then used the $20 e-gift on my actual purchase of a Disney gift card.

Oh, it is. But I just fear the points won’t post ”timely” based on the awful experience I had in 2018 when my statements closed on 1/1 and 1/3 but CP didn’t post until 1/21 or so. People whose statements closed in the middle of the month had CP before me. So I am just hoping they don’t mess up posting DH’s points on 1/5 or so while they “reset” accounts.
