Besties, Booze and Brrr!!! With Jen and Joe on the Go 5/8 January Wrap Up and new TR LInk! COMPLETE

Our First Evening in Disney Springs...

Once we got to POFQ and got settled, we freshened up a bit, changed our clothes and walked down the stairs to the boat docks (this was very convenient). We had a river view room and it was so peaceful. We have stayed at POFQ 7 times and this was by far my favorite room location.

It was a beautiful evening, high 60's , low humidity...We decided the first order of business was getting some food because I was HANGRY!!! I was also in need of a cocktail. So what better place to satisfy both my needs but Wine Bar George, of course. Joe thought this was a great idea as well.

We were seated upstairs and quickly ordered drinks and food. I started with a strawberry cider and Joe had an Old Fashion, maybe...I didn't get pics of the drinks so I'm not entirely sure what Joe ordered...I've had the cider beer before and it went down smooth. We shared a few apps: mac and cheese bites (if you've never had these you are definitely missing out), the meatballs and the marinated olives. All 3 were good and again I failed at taking food pics. As you can see, I remembered after we had started shoving our faces full of the deliciousness in front of us...LOL!

We settled the tab and did a bit of shopping and then stopped by Amorettes for some dessert. Joe left the ordering up to me so I picked the creme brulee. YUM! We both really liked this!!!

It was getting late and we were tired. We found a boat heading back to POFQ already at the dock and it was a quick ride back to the resort (so much better than those dang buses)...We showered and crawled into bed ready for our first night's sleep in Disney. Yay!!!

What next??? We get up early because we had an "experience" to do in Epcot...

The more I see and hear about Wine Bar George the more I think I need to move there permanently! :rotfl: I could seriously spend the rest of my days happily eating appetizers and swilling cocktails! Bliss:cloud9:

Sounds like a great night at DS! The first night at the hotel is always so exciting- so much fun that lies ahead!
We had so much fun.
The first night's sleep at Disney is just so magical because there's so much to look forward to...

Baw!! Ha!!!! You and me both Moira!!!

Visiting DS on arrival night is one my favorite traditions. It's a nice relaxing way to start a Disney trip.
Those Mac and Cheese bites look amazing! My goodness, I need to try those.
Yes it is.
They are so good and we get them every time.

Tea for 2

Joe and I woke up early but later than usual in the "real" world because we had plans. Big plans. We had to make our way to Epcot for an experience...We had reservations for the Twining Tea Experience at Rose and Crown. I had heard about this by accident as I was making some dining reservations for this trip. I read the description and knew instantly it was something I wanted to do. So, I told Joe about it and he thought it would be cool to do too. It's an hour and a half tea that explains the history of Twinings, where not only do you learn about its history but you get to do a tasting as well.

We were served 3 different hot teas and learned how long each one should be brewed. We were also served an iced tea called Lady Grey, which was the best iced tea I have ever had in my life. We were served 4 different tea sandwiches and scones with cream and jam. Everything was delicious and at $35. pp, a real steal in terms of special events to attend at Disney. Eventually, I will post our vlog on the tea so you can see exactly what we were served and how it was done...In the meantime, I will show you all some pics...

The other nice thing about this experience was that there were maybe 30 of us so it was more on the intimate side. Although, we were assigned seats and were seated with other people.

Up next, we spend some time in World Showcase and use up some of our fast passes. We also browse some of the displays set up for Festival of the Arts...

It sounds so lovely! I definitely want to try POFQ one day. :)

I loved the tea experience too. It was $30pp in March but even at $35 pp it is still a Disney bargain. I love that there are seasonal teas..... that caramel rooibos one looks amazing!

I need to try dinner at WBG at some point! The Mac and cheese balls sound delish!

The tea experience sounds like it was a good time! I wish I liked tea because there are so many tea experiences in Disney but I don't really want to do any of them 🤣

Suse, you MUST stay there one day and I would be surprised if you didn't fall in love with it like Joe and I did. Plus, It's so reasonably priced for Disney in my opinion.

I wasn't thrilled about the caramel rooibos but it turned out to be my fav hot tea ever. We even bought a box to bring home and I'm sad to say it's almost gone. Thank goodness we're going back in 4 weeks!!!

It's sooo good!!! The apps are really small portions but the flavors are out of this world. The wine menu is divine!!!!

It was so cool. Joe and I are total coffee drinkers and tea time is just something we like to do a couple times a year, but this experience was really neat and I can't wait to show everyone the vlog we did...Tea at the Grand Floridian is awesome too. BUT, my fav is at the Drake Hotel. It's fabulous!!!!

I love POFQ. Nothing better than hopping on a boat to DS!

I'm hearing so many good things about Wine Bar George, I've got to get there.

That Tea Experience at Rose and Crown looked fantastic! I've always wanted to do the tea at the Grand Floridian, but I think I'd rather do this one. Do you know if this is something that they have year round or only certain times of year?

I love the look of the tea experience and could definitely see myself and my daughter doing that. My kids treated me to afternoon tea here a few times for birthdays or Mother’s Day and I love it! Always end up with a box of goodies to bring home for the boys as we can never finish all the treats. Your experience looks like the perfect amount and what a great price! I’ve never tasted iced tea though so that would be new to me 😊

I need to get caught up in your vlogs as Sunday raced by before I had a chance to. Hopefully later today I’ll get to watch them. Looking forward to hearing all your questions and answers :goodvibes

The tea experience at Rose and Crown is offered all year round, a few days a week.😊. It starts at 945 am.
