Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

Thanks. I honestly really think it was just the post Christmas rush blahs (especially with the inattentiveness and grumpiness of the CM). And it felt like they oversold the rooms by the overall crowds and the last minute menu changes. That’s why I’m happy to hear new better reports than ours, but I’m not sure I’m willing to pay CL prices again at YC for awhile although I still love the resort.
I understand. I keep waffling on our upcoming CL stay, but my DH is only willing to stay YC/BC with CL bc he really dislikes the food/restaurant options there. We got a really good price for the CL, but the regular room would’ve been even cheaper. Sometimes I kind of miss doing more ADRs when we’re already paying for CL. Oh well. I agree with you that’s it’s still a lovely resort.

I commented on it in this thread back in early January but basically the gist of it was that we had a very short one night stay where everything went wrong from our magic bands not working repeatedly to where we couldn’t even make it up the elevator to our floor/ open our door etc multiple times, grumpy CM, extreme crowds, poor food that was not as indicated on posted menu, issues with alcohol not being served when requested...We had just stayed there in August and it was awesome then

Sorry to hear that. Just to note, the magic band issue can happen at any resort. We had an issue when we moved from the Beach Club to Polynesian a couple years ago. My DH’s magic band would not work for anything! It took three full days just to get his magic band to work at Poly. They ended up having to delete all existing bands, and finally just gave him a new one! Funniest part was, as soon as his was fixed and working again, mine stopped working! They ended up having to delete all and then replace mine as well! First world problems!!! :charac2:8-)

Yes, we have had magic band issues before but this stay was particularly bad. We had to go to the main check in desk multiple times to even be able to access the floor after waiting forever for the elevator (busy time) only to find out it wouldn’t work once we got in). When we finally got it to work for the elevator we discovered our room was possibly the farthest from the elevators and CL CM desk and when we got there with all of our luggage the band had somehow stopped working and would not open our room causing us to have to lug our stuff back to the desk to seek help...we felt like we spent the entire short stay waiting for things. We checked in to Poly the next day and while we initially had issues they “fixed” them. YC tried to “fix” them at least 5-6 times in less than 24 hours.

So sorry to hear that. Seems like it’s more common than we’d think. Hope you have a better experience next trip!!

We had lots of trouble with our magic bands last summer and I would like to remove all old bands in hopes of heading off trouble for our July trip. Calling before the trip seems best to me.

What number did you call?

Thanks!

I did it while on property. The IT phone # I used to call connects you to the Disney Travel Company. IT is now with a third party.

The link to decline MB is part of online check in.

You must have a different online check-in than I. Believe me, I have spent hours trying to find it and, so far, I haven’t found a CM who knows where the link is either!

Here's what is on my desktop for my online check-in... (It seems that if there are people in your group that do not have Magic Bands, you cannot decline them.) I wish they would give us the option of declining individuals - my group on one resv all have MBs, but on another resv, 2 do not, and I cannot decline any of that group even though some have many MBs already)

Congratulations on your wonderful pixie dust upgrade. What room category did you originally book?
It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. :)

It has been frustrating to be unable to decline MBs. We don't want any more of them!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you have grey bands waiting at the front desk and don't pick them up, they will be removed from your MDE account a few days after your trip is over. But it is annoying that they keep sending them. :(

I booked a standard view CL room! I was told (and this makes sense) our stay was the perfect puzzle piece for the room assigners. I bet that never happens again!

Thanks so much for your review. We’ll be there this summer. Your upgrade sounds like such a special treat. Even if it was the on the 4th floor, the suite must’ve been beautiful. Glad you had a great stay.

I would gladly volunteer to be far away from the Club Lounge for a suite like that any day! :teeth:

I did not take photos. Breakfast offerings always included fruit, meats/smoked salmon, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, danish, toast, a hot dish (frittata, crepes, bread pudding); other things that slip my mind!

Evening offerings were things like meatballs, short ribs w/mashed potatoes, Mac & Cheese, pork sliders, salmon, soups, meat and cheeses, seafood rolls, carrots, green beans, salads, dinner rolls..... that’s all I can remember at the moment. Just know we never left the Lounge hungry!!

Yep, I don’t have that - not with my resort reservations and not with my DVC reservations. But thank you for posting this. I will look into it before my next trip in 21 days.

I went into MY PLANS, and scrolled down through the DAILY ITINERARY until I found the reservation. Then clicked on START CHECK-IN. Not sure if it comes up if it's at the top of your planning page.

Then you must have someone in your stay that must receive new MB

I honestly don’t remember, sorry! I’m pretty sure I had to call about a different problem, and ended up being transferred to someone who seemed to know what he was doing so I asked and he recommended removing old bands, so I had him do it right then. That time was easy, I just had him remove all of the old magic band 1s. This next round will be harder, because most of our MB 2s are either special ones we bought outright, upgraded to with a resort stay, or bought covers for from magicyourband and thus I don’t really want to completely eliminate. This is why I’m annoyed. They keep upselling us, then tell us if we buy new ones we have to eliminate the old ones for it to work right? I want to be able to interchange based on park, clothing, season, or just whim! This trip we saw a few bands we liked, but didn’t buy any because we figured we’re having problems with what we have, so why would we buy more since it isn’t like we don’t like the ones we have.

I have 31 active bands right now. This is after I've had about 30 older ones removed. I did just sit down and marked all the ones I don't use as inactive. I kept only the designer ones, and 2 solid pucks I use in puck keepers. I've narrowed it down to 16 active bands.
All that to say, even with 31, we haven't had issues with bands at Disney except for 1 trip and that issue wasn't related to too many bands. It was just an issue with mine and whatever it was it caused me to have no charging privileges. Worked fine for opening the door, entering the parks and using FP. They were able to fix the charing issue after extensive research.

Here are some photos of our room, it was 4426. It’s in the bank across from the lounge that faces the kids play area, beach pool, and the Poly across the Seven Seas lagoon. The rooms in that side all have a wet bar area, which I like for the counter space and lots of storage under the bar. It was standard view 2 queen.00BEF0CC-C21A-4A4E-98CB-BCB9A3422EF4.jpeg2EA7EAAE-5338-4AD2-810E-EF9B426A896E.jpeg671B9393-6E2A-42CE-A16D-2CD6CFAB568C.jpegB97B5B96-2CB9-4F70-9B3A-DF66C2513B9C.jpeg4A76C739-044C-4ABD-BF60-01FC2258AAD9.jpegAE7C7679-884B-424E-861F-5AB793C130CC.jpeg6793B0CE-1F30-462E-A1FA-F4F427C19052.jpegAD61D8EA-2A08-49F9-A24A-ADB4ED0B6C21.jpegB86AB00D-F7A1-42F0-BF88-DC8D5440EBAA.jpeg
sorry the vertical ones are sideways, I don’t know how to rotate them!

The only way I am able to straighten pics here, is to just completely rotate them first. Makes no sense, but it works! Great pictures, hope you’re having fun! I love it there.

We’ve had many problems over many stays, but oddly enough some stays have been totally fine, some had a couple of minor Issues, and some have been one big fight. However, the problems had always been with our room door and elevator/building access. Then This trip the problems were with park tickets, and with 3 or 4 trips to GR where they had to call IT each time they all told me the same thing- when an account gets too many bands/points of info on it it causes problems. They told me it sometimes causes the account to almost split, so some bands would match up to some of our info/tickets and other bands match to other tickets/info. A case where all bands weren’t interchangeable, when we took a different band from the one they had worked on the day before the new one wouldn’t let us in a park. So after the third time we figured it out and used the same bands the rest of the trip instead of the coordinating ones we had planned for each park. One GS CM did tell me I should call and have them set me up with a new MDE Account, and they would move the bands I wanted to keep. I remember that being a big topic of discussion a while ago here.

I just checked- I have 20 bands, my older sons have 19 each, and my younger sons have 9 each. My DH has his own account so I don’t know what he has offhand. Of those, probably all but 5-6 of the older kids and mine are inactive, and most of the toddlers are inactive, but I still don’t really know if that matters or not - I’ve been told both yes it does help and that inactivating them doesn’t actually matter multiple times each.

What do you mean rotate them first? When I look at them on my phone they are all upright. I guess the ones I take in landscape post ok and the vertical ones are sideways, but it isn’t practical to take all photos landscape plus I forget and take the way that fits best.

Making them inactive doesn't really remove them from your file. They are still on your record and as such, taking up date base space. You can ask them at the resort to remove ALL inactive bands you have on your account. This works well to get the data out of your account, which helps to clean out your file.
