Here are some crowd photos from today. Here is the crowd after we got off the bus. About 7:05. No construction wall but the right side went pretty quickly.

Then we walked to try and get on Smugglers Run. This is where we waited. We have younger kids and a stroller and ended up too far back that we thought our four year old would go crazy so we switched to Aliens.

@etoiles (or anyone who can tell) is that 7:05 lineup picture, right in front of tap stiles or back beyond the ticket booth so quite a ways from tapstiles?

The Chart on Post 2 has been updated. Today was a very good day, both operationally and for how long Boarding Groups lasted as available to join after park opening. Today would have likely been a very good experience for any guest who was there at park opening and wanted to ride. Of course, not all days have been so fortunate.

- 134 total Boarding Groups were called - 61 Regular Boarding Groups / 73 Backup Boarding Groups - for an 11.2 Boarding Group per hour average

- Backup boarding groups lasted until 8:30am, 30 minutes past park opening

Thank you so much for keeping The Chart up to date! We have 2 weeks to go until our next trip, which will be the very first visit our son's fiancee will take to WDW. I'm trying to be low-key and relaxed about scheduling our days, but DHS is really trying me :badpc: :rotfl:

yes, it’s back beyond the ticket booth but after security. It moved pretty fast though and when we got inside it was surprising to see people just standing around not heading anywhere.

I'm curious to know if solo travelers generally get earlier boarding groups, either because they don't have to take time to select their boarding party or because the system can drop them into a group that doesn't have space for 2 or more guests
Reporting my solo traveler experience from Thursday 2/27 -
drove over from Tampa (1.5 hours), entered DHS parking lot at 6:50 AM
walked to the far right tap stile line, tapped into the park at 7:20 AM
went immediately to Starbucks, had my soy latte and bagel by 7:40 AM :)
went to sit on the concrete planter in front of Echo Lake, exited all apps, turned off wifi, iPhone 7
opened the app at 7:58 am, searched for Star Tours FastPass just for a giggle, then hit the home page exactly at 8:00 am, hit Learn More, clicked Join Boarding Group, got group 17
Boarded around 8:50 AM, no wait, no glitches, no delays - the Force was with me

I was solo at the end of January (still 7am opening). And I got 42 and 61 I think... so no being solo wasn't an advantage... groups around me got way earlier BG.

These and later posts seem to support the conclusion that refreshing is not a good strategy. It's best to wait until after 8:00:02 for the first hit on More Info, then if neither the red nor the blue button on the 2nd screen are available, immediately kill the app and start over.

I agree, on Monday I opened the app at 7:59am and my husband 7:58am, but then we did not hit the RoTR button until 8:00am.

The person beside us in line had it open well before 8 and was pulling down to refresh constantly. We ended up with BG 5 and he got BG 46. Once the app is re-started, I would not click onto RoTR until 8 for sure.

The length of return is calculated by the time you got the notification to the return time
So if you got that notification at 8:26 that's 2 hours.

I understand this, just found it strange that yesterday with BG 14 we had a 2 hour return time, but someone with an earlier BG only had a 1 hour return time.

The one hour return has happened for quite a while now, the cm at the attraction have said it's a glitch and they will honor the 2 hour return

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere already, but is there a limit to how many people can log in to the same account on the app? There will be 4 of us trying once we enter the park (all using the same MDE account) plus my sister back in Canada might also log in to my account and try from there at the same time. Will that be ok?

Our experience from Sat 2/29:

We're staying in a house about 10-15 mins away (near Formosa Gardens Blvd). Left our house in our rental about 7:05. (Out of curiosity, I checked uber, and it was about an 11-min wait). Arrived at the tollbooth around 7:20. Short delay there, parked by about 7:25. Through security and entered the park by about 7:40. (I didn't see much advantage to "staying right" on this particular day.)

We headed for Jedi training signups. It had been open for a while. My Verizon iphone 7+ had only around 3 bars in that area (had 4 bars most other places in the park). I had been practicing for about 29 out of the last 30 days (only day I missed was the day you could actually get BGs from home) so felt pretty confident. While online for the signup, I opened around 8:00:01.5, which i think was a little too quick because everything was greyed out. Had to force close and by the time I reopened...my wife from the house had acquired BG 18! (I also had my sister-in-law helping from NJ.) Got called around 8:30 and boarded and finished shortly thereafter with no issue.

My 6-year-old daughter (first time in Disney and first ride ever) loved it. Having no idea what went into this quest, she says to me as soon as we get off, "Can we ride again?"

A word about the Jedi training area: After seeing pictures of crowds elsewhere in the park, I'm very glad we chose that area. It seemed very low-stress. Obviously it was quiet from 7:58-8:02, but there were no screams/cheers. You might want to consider that area if you want a more chill environment. I heard one person near me get 24 and another got 80-something.

Looks like today was one of the best days in a long time to ride, so we got lucky in many respects. I appreciated all the help here and hope this may be informative to someone.

The more people the better :)

And today concludes 12 hour days... at least for awhile. Tomorrow begins a run of 12.5 hour days. Exciting to see February close with 2 good days and 6 of the last 8 were average days or better.

Really feels like if they could just eliminate those handful of really poor performing days the "mood" about the process will improve a lot. Also longer park hours will help too ...just thinking if they can consistently get to 130+ or even 150+ BGs every day there wouldn't be quite the stress level that the fear of "your day" being the one that only gets to BG 63 or whatever causes

Can my 12 year old son create a my Disney experience account to try for a boarding group on his phone or should I just have him log into my adult account? Will that create a problem if I’m logged in twice on two different devices?
Thanks for any advice!

We were logged in twice on the same account on different phones. And my husband's selection was the one that got us in! Good luck!
