It will take time for crowds to drop due to fear of the virus. Maybe crowds will start to thin out a bit in a few weeks. It depends on how this unfolds.
There is NO way DHS was a crowd level 1 yesterday. MMRR had its official opening yesterday.Touring Plans shows their estimates were quite higher than actual crowds yesterday for all parks. For DHS they predicted 10, actual crowd level 1! That’s quite a difference. But was DHS actually a 1 yesterday?
For Disney World to completely close, the US would have to be in the most dire of dire situations. I mean so dire that the CDC actually telling people to stay home and not go into their workplaces. If it came to that, then I could see them closing the entire place down. And even then it would take a week or so to empty all those hotel rooms.
Just my opinion
A nice little laugh in the midst of this...Disney capitalizes on everything else, so why not, right?! But I think even Disney's know this would be in bad taste.I’m surprised they haven’t started selling Mickey face masks yet!

I read an article by an Italian woman who survived the coronavirus. She said when she called the Italian equivalent of 911, no one answered so she had to drive herself to the hospital! When she got there, the nurses yelled at her and told her to go home, even with a persistent fever and breathing problems. She was lucky she lived. My babysitter spent a semester in Italy last year, and when I told her about the nurses' reaction and about emergency services not answering the call from this woman, she said, "Typical Italian behavior." Based on the service we've gotten from waiters at Via Napoli, I should not have been surprised either. lol Therefore, I'm not using Italy as a barometer for anything.I agreed with this until we saw the unusually high death rate in Italy. With the extreme reactions in government to this I’m beginning to wonder if this is more serious than has been reported
First, I would add up the non-refundable costs, and figure out if that is a financial hit I am willing to take. That answer will vary from person to person. Then I would ask the person/company you rented from if you have any wiggle room to move your dates. If the answer is no, then you have two choices. You either take the financial hit, if it’s in your budget, or you wait it out to see what will happen. As you say, you have insurance that will kick in if it’s mandatory to avoid travel. It’s possible that Disney may offer some sort of rescheduling similar to their hurricane policy if things get bad and people can’t travel. I am not sure how that works with points though. Can I ask those who are actually concerned and not of the opinion this is not a big deal and all hype a question?
What would you do with a long spring break trip with rented DVC points, 2 studios worth? It is a ton of money we would be throwing away if we don’t go, ignoring tickets and plane tickets where I’m assuming there is a bit more wiggle room. Our insurance is useless until Canada advises against travel to the US.
They'd be made in China, anyway. Their manufacturing is still lagging.I’m surprised they haven’t started selling Mickey face masks yet!
With California declaring a state of emergency, what's the next step? Airline stocks, hotel stocks, cruise stocks all getting hammered today. Not worried but I'm running out of alka seltzer...lol . bottom not in site just yet
Disney stock down $5 today.
I'm 66 and in no need of my retirement savings account. I retired 11 years ago but my point is what will happen with the cruise ship that can't dock just yet and will Disneyland close because of this health crises. Some college teams today cancelled games and the atlantic 10 announced no hand shakes after games.Maybe off-topic(?):
If you have a long term view and can sustain any potential recession, also meaning those funds are not necessary for other expenses, I would just hold. However, if you’re a trader or just trade on swings in the short term, I’ll probably get out. Things are going to get worse than they are now. That’s a definite. Anyone saying otherwise, is living with Mickey and friends. A better short term play will be options for DIS.
Los Angeles County just went from 0 confirmed cases to 11 cases in less than 48 hours It is definitely spreading undetected there.
And there are 9 positive cases now of Florida residents or ties to Florida.

I was in Hollywood Studios ALL day yesterday. There is no way it was a 1. Crowds were very very heavy. More like an 8 or 9 to me.Touring Plans shows their estimates were quite higher than actual crowds yesterday for all parks. For DHS they predicted 10, actual crowd level 1! That’s quite a difference. Leaving in 9 days; trust me in that the chances we are around someone at WDW with the virus are there. But the same is true at home or elsewhere. short of holing up in our hose 24/7 it's a manageable risk. Bought some Purell and we will wash our hands more. A bunch of folks got the flu after the Disney marathon - a whole lot on the runDisney board. It was directly tied to running the race. Don't think they wont be back next year. Be prudent, make your choice, and well stay home so I can enjoy better wait times
