Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

They will need them way before that to get the parks open and rides tested. Training on new measures in place.
Exactly. People keep quoting Shanghai for testing everything as if once its tested there other parks around the world can just open.

Doesn't work like that. CMs are gonna need weeks of testing and training at all the parks around the world.

Shops/restaurants will also need time to physically be adapted.

My point is, the fact that they are offering them shows they think they can open. I don’t think they made the decision lightly. The free dining offer was made to guest who had been not just disappointed, but early on at least, cancelled with little indication it would ever be possible. I know for us, our car was packed and we were a day away from leaving when it was announced. We’re all going on “signs” we see and there’s just been nothing that gives any indication, at least on Disney’s part, that they’re going to have a 1 park opening with very few resorts available. Should it turn out they were wrong and they can’t open or the experience is diminished enough that we can’t accept it, I won’t blame them for attempting it at least. We’ll just re-book yet again. And I’d say this whether we had plans or not. Time will tell who’s right.
There are signs of limited capacity in that people are having issues getting fast passes and some ADR's.

Lots of emotional attachment to WDW, especially if your vacation plans for this year have been compromised. I said earlier I don't have a dog in this fight, so I am looking at it from a logic standpoint. If my trip was in peril I would be saying something different.

Yeah I've noticed that the people with vacations coming up are the loudest ones to scream about Disney re-opening as soon as possible. And some of these same people are even complaining about restrictions...

Worth noting that some use Shanghai as examples of Disney reopening.

They did their first very limited phase of opening 6 weeks ago now and as far as I'm aware there is still no date set for the park to open.

I am on the phone with DVC member services right now. I wanted to modify my trip. The CM said that the parks are scheduled to open June 15. They may not open then, but they will not open before June 15. Magic Kingdom area is the ONLY area that will be open. Magic KIngdom will be the only park open. This will be Phase one. They will open other parks as they see how Phase one goes.

There will be NO FAST PASSES, NO CHARACTER MEETINGS AND VERY LIMITED RESTAURANTS. There will be a "digital registry" for rides. Again, MK is the only park opening JUne 15 until later phases.

He (the CM) also said that EPCOT will be the LAST park to open. I am on hold right now getting my OTU points refunded.

I have never had a CM (during this closure) be so candid and forthright with information.

We paid about $270 a night for contemporary Labor Day week 2018. I’m going to be laughing at $300 a night for June 2020 all day.
But we don’t know what will & won’t be open yet. I Have a trip booked in July at Poly & paid way more. We go often & I have a 2 yr old so it’s not just about rides & attractions for us. There are some things that will be a deal breaker, but I figure I can easily cancel if I don’t like what is offered.

Read the post above yours just now.

You need to make a new thread for this, IMO. Thanks for the info.

If true, I'm not surprised about MK being the first park they test the waters with, so to speak. It's also interesting that while you mention MK is scheduled to open in some form June 15th, you also state it could change to later, but that it definitely won't be sooner.

Special rate from a TA that cannot be mentioned on these boards. My first quote was Poly for $2331. I looked it up to make sure I wasn't remembering it incorrectly.

I will, thanks!
It was mainly an observation about how insane their rates are. I won't tell you what I am stuck with for Boardwalk next May, but it probably made my hair turn even more grey.
Was that a magical vacations ta deal?

While some or all of the could be true. Phone CMs aren't usually the best source for info. They often are some of the last to get the info.
