Rumor about “modified experiences” when Disney reopens (read 1st post for potential modifications being considered)

I have a reservation booked for the end of September and He said that should be good. He said Epcot would be the last to open. He also said that full opening would be late in the Summer.

I am mainly thinking of all the international CMs that were sent home. They usually work those booths, I believe. They could always staff others CMs, but without the CP kids they might not be able to.

This is a "Rumors" page. I am only relaying the information that I am getting from this cast member. I lost out here too. But, the information he has given me resolution. My May trip is busted and even if i had rescheduled for June, it would not have happened either.
As I said, I very much appreciate you sharing what you were told.
It’s interesting that he expects a full park opening by August. That would seem to say they hope to move thru the phases pretty quickly.

I will be so glad when a definite plan is announced. Moving ours to August wouldn’t be a huge deal. We were beyond surprised and disappointed when they closed within hours of us leaving for Disney in March, but since then the late June trip has been on wait and see mode. It is not a re-booking, we had it scheduled for a long time. Had I been re-booking, I would’ve moved to a later date.

I am sure that someone on Disboards know a CM who must have the same information that the phone CM gave me. I really wish they would pipe in and either collaborate of deny my previous post.
Correct me if I am wrong but the info you're sharing seems to match up with the secure circuit that's been accepted here as being legit? So perhaps CMs have received some knowledge of the different phases WDW is considering, and he is sharing what is most likely at this moment. Very interesting that they feel comfortable sharing this though! Thanks for passing it on. We're all starved for any info :rotfl:

They could. WDW has a lot of part time CM's who barely get hours. I'm sure many will happily fill in the spots for the International's CM's until they come back.

Same here. We have a DVC reservation end of June/early July and just waiting for an official announcement is painful. FP day is coming this week, so we're going through the motions. Wondering if moving it to late July would be a better move so we won't lose points and/or experiences.

I'm not shocked or anything. But I would be upset if the reopened the 15th witth onky MK from the standpoint that I had a Free Dining trip booked (way back in Jan) for the end of June/early July. We would either have to fly 2000 miles to spend 8 days going to one park only, or lose out on our reservation, preticket increase prices, and free dining because we wouldn't even be eligible for the "free dining rebook offer" since they would be no longer "closed".
That sucks, because not only is there disney trip disappointment, but then theres not even any incentive or compensation. Just "come and deal with our terms or lose everything". And that sucks.
I don't think we can say there's no compensation. They just haven't announced options yet, but they will once they know a date. No doubt they understand people will not want one park, and will need to work with those people. Assuming it is only one park. We truly don't know anything yet.

While some or all of the could be true. Phone CMs aren't usually the best source for info. They often are some of the last to get the info.

Which is why I posted the information that this CM gave me. It was so detailed and not unrealistic.

If this is really how it goes down, I have to admit I didn't think they would only open one park. They will definitely have to limit the amount of booked guests and the Florida residents.

Sure, we can't say that. But we can say, as of what we know right now, that their current compensation policy is only if they're closed.
i also am not able to go in August because my principal/boss sucks. The next soonest time after July 30th would be November. Current compensation does not extend that far out. So i very well could be SOL.

I'm waiting for an answer on a friend that works DVC, she is working right now, one of the few that were left, so as soon as she gets back to me I'll post
Unfortunately most "heard from a phone CM" info is inaccurate, and then becomes the "boy who cried wolf"scenario, where the info has been wrong so many times even if it's right this time it is not taken as fact

Post 50 on this thread about DVC points also mentions the 6 month point extension lasting until 12/15- which the person posting points out would mean a 6/15 re-open.

I don't remember asking him if ALL DVC RESORTS WILL BE OPEN BY JUNE 15.. He did say that MK RESORTS would open FIRST. sorry, don't shoot the messenger.

Im not shooting the messenger. Im just saying it sounds like 1. He wasnt supposed to share what he shared and 2. He had no actual real info to share, just what heard around the lunch room. 3. Hes probably on these boards with that kind of info!

Posts on the News thread indicate via an email sent yesterday that April Use Year Points are also extended six months though.
It's possible the poster was only referring to their own June UY points? I'm not sure.

Believe me, I am not at all excited about the prospect of a 6/15 limited opening. It means months and months of planning for my own stay are useless. However, I also understand the need for precautions and moving slowly. We are trying to decide between moving the date to late July or eating 40 of our 2019 points and moving to next year altogether. At this point, we just want to see some concrete info from Disney directly.
