Splash and most of MK are only good rides in the sense they are nostalgic and bring back memories.

They are not good rides by any metric other than nostalgia.

It's weird but, I actually like the idea. I can imagine Goin down the Bayou along with the fireflies. I hope the add shaky grandma in her walker. I just dont see how the drop would be incorporated.

I think its more along the lines that people get upset when things get changed based off pressure from people, esp people who aren't even in the Disney fan base. I just find it hard to believe its not being changed because of that

Well, it is what it is - now to figure out how to make it actually work.

At DLR: Lose Critter Country entirely - Tiana ride is part of New Orleans Square. The docks, hungry bear, and Winnie the Pooh can become a sub-land like Storybook Circus is - the outskirts of town or something.

At MK: This is more problematic. There is a lot of space though at the Splash queue area - maybe this whole thing becomes a sub-land, if they can squeeze something else into it, even M&G or eateries. There is some room on the other side I think, but not much. It's a stretch, but possible.

The problem with WDW is if you re-theme Splash and the surrounding area to New Orleans or a bayou you still have BTMR which is now stranded by itself as western mountain themed.

Makes much more sense to have a non IP based western themed log flume ride and if they want to introduce Princess and the Frog give it its own small land in the expansion pad behind The Haunted Mansion and do a New Orleans themed area with a restaurant and an original ride for Princess and the Frog and utilize the view of the steam boat that circles Tom Sawyer Island to create an immersive ambiance for the area.

Yeah that was another total what in the.... moment for me as far as fitting something thematically goes. I did not understand that decision whatsoever.

I think it's because they're branching into their newer deluxe hotels not necessarily sticking to one Disney story. So for example at Riviera you see all different Disney stories between the mosaics and posters, and the character dining is classic characters. I felt the same way especially as Tiana's Place would be awesome at one of the Port Orleans resorts but it seems for the newer DVC properties they were trying to include many Disney stories. (It also reminds me of how BATB was put into the Grand Floridian...and even featured as the showcased story on their Grand Floridian merch).

Oh I agree, there is no way they just randomly came up with this in the last month. I assume they have had it and were waiting for the right moment to announce it without pissing off their fan base to much. The current climate gave them that chance. I just think Disney and other companies believe by doing things like this, it changes things. Its only a matter of time before something else is offensive and they want it gone.
