AP holders from NY, NJ, Conn

I have to hope some addendum is coming to this. They want the state re-opened, they want the state to get tourism business again, but they are going to cutoff one of the largest sections of their visitors for another 2 months even though cases here have been way way way down compared to other states? Not to mention what is Disney going to do with all APs from states who cannot visit? Are they going to refund/extend everyone? Seems like a bit of a mess.

I hope you are right. 🙂🤞🏻🤞🏻

Don’t forget though, anyone traveling to FL from the NY, NJ, CT area also needs to quarantine for 14 days upon their return to their home state. And on top of that, anyone traveling from NY would then be ineligible for COVID-related sick leave upon their return to NY. So it’s not so much just the FL quarantine aspect, you’d be risking quite a bit coming to FL right now.

It is mostly wishful thinking, but I have to imagine either they will adjust the travel ban in some sort of addemdum order or they will make exceptions for people going to Disney and require they stay in that Disney bubble.

I know. I have been trying to stay so positive about everything. News kinda just deflated my tires a little bit, I’ll be honest. 🙁

How does extending the quarantine on NY, NJ and CT even make sense? I think FL is being a baby about NY slapping a quarantine on visitors to FL. (Which to be fair, was a tit-for-tat from NY to FL, but at least justifiable from the rising cases in FL).

Maine, which unlike Florida has a low incidence of COVID-19 to protect, has a quarantine policy, but they specifically exempted NY, NJ and CT last week. But Florida, whose case rate is way higher than Maine and higher than NY, NJ and CT deems a quarantine necessary only for those states? I don't buy it. Someone is having an ego trip.

Same here. I guess it’s my own fault for getting more invested than I thought in my little weekend trip even though I knew it was far from certain but it still stings. I really wanted to believe things would be better by Sept.

Well, now the decision to cancel my August-Sept WDW trip has been made for me, thanks to extending the quarantine. Ugh.

So, any thoughts on if/what impact this extension will have on the AP extension/refund options for us in NY/NJ/CT?

Since there are now travel restrictions for Florida residents coming to the tri-state area bet he won’t amend it. This basically make my trip impossible and make our APs a waste of money this year

This is what I am saying. I have to imagine Disney will be getting in the ear of the Governor's office and explaining this among other things to them. I really hope it is not some tit-for-tat thing because he will only be hurting the financial recovery of his state, which they say is of the highest priority.

Anybody know if they are making tri state residents quarantine if they fly out of Mass or PA

Yeah, my current plan was to rent a car, drive down to DC, then take the Amtrak auto train the rest of the way. I'm not willing to risk it if the moment I get seen in a rental car with NY plates I'm confined to my hotel room for literally my whole trip.

Not sure if this is a valid question for the thread but can you do your 14-day quarantine in a non NY/NJ/CT state other than Florida? We have to stop at my In Laws in NC on our way to Disney anyway so I am thinking maybe we just go a coupe weeks early and stay in NC for the 14 days.

its payback for NY and NJ having a reciprocal travel restriction. Plain and simple grudge match.
NJ is one of the only two states that should legitimately be opening up. Florida is a mess right now. And the pictures coming out of the Magic Kingdom today are a social distancing failure.
No no... he must think he’s helping us up here. Now we don’t need to self quarantine when we get home, can keep going to work, restaurants, helping local businesses and the local economy. Thanks DeSantis!
