First, my DS left for Basic Training on Monday

Saw that on fb, I think.

We had a big party for him last Saturday and then on Monday a small group of friends came over for an impromptu send off, which was really sweet.

Very nice.

During the little send-off on Monday, I tripped in the garage and hurt my left fore-arm/wrist pretty bad.

Saw that too. You poor thing.

I do think it's starting to feel better now…at least I can use it to type.

Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Ugh…this is going to be a lonnnngggg 4 months.

And you know how things come in threes? Well, I also cracked my iPhone glass on Saturday during the party.

You can stop now. Really.

So for those keeping count that's three broken things in one week…my heart, my phone, and my arm (not really broken).

at Christmastime

Huh. I've only been there a couple times around Christmas. The first time I was too young (and the first time) to notice Christmas decorations... if there even were any, and the second time... well... Main St is magical to me no matter the season, so it didn't hit me quite so hard, but... yes... loved it.

Ugh I feel you. I'm not looking forward to Ricky leaving next month but at least he's only 90 minutes away (he'll be closer to you than me!) and while he won't be home nearly as much as we thought if at all, it's only 3 months and I can call him whenever. Of courses he needs to answer lol

We're already trying to think of what else we can deep fry! Any ideas??

I also made a reservation for February 11-16, 2021 at POP for Allie and me. We are thinking that maybe we can visit a couple colleges at that time, since none are allowing tours at the moment.

We made deep fried Reese's one time and they were probably so fattening but delicious!

I hate Peanut Butter Desserts, but I'm sure Allie would love that!

Mike got the 30 day extension but his pass was expiring 7/26 so now it expires 8/26 so it's not much help to us lol. He wasn't going to renew his pass since we have no idea when we'll be back but since they aren't allowing new APs right now, he ended up just renewing. I bought a new AP earlier this year instead of renewing so it's just sitting inactive in my account now waiting until we can travel.

I didn't know they were offering renewals? I have a renewal certificate also, but I bought it back in April. I can't even think of all the money I've spent on tickets this years for maybe nothing

It really is. I rarely eat fried food because it gives me a stomach ache, but I tried one and it was really good. We have a huge fair around here in the fall (not this year, of course), called The Big E. People come from all around to eat that gross fried food…they even fry butter It's not my thing at all! I went once and kept comparing to WDW and decided if I was going to drop >$100/day, I'd do it at WDW.

If you have an AP, you should have gotten an email asking if you wanted a refund, or if you do nothing, they'll extend your AP by 30 days. I believe mine came on July 14. You should check into it. If you have no plans to return, (and how could you?) maybe check and see how much your refund will be.

I don't think we had the best Skipper, but it's always a fun ride,
especially with the Christmas overlay!

We decided to eat before the party really got going but couldn't agree on where
so we split up to get our food and then met back up to sit and eat together.

NUGGIES AND PECOS BILL'S


Allie got Corn Dog nuggies at Casey's...


and to no-one's surprise, I went and got my favorite QS meal in all of WDW...

My Pecos Bill'S Southwestern Salad. Yum!

We sat in PB to eat and thoroughly enjoyed our dinners and then went over
to watch Elsa light up the castle.

So magical, especially when it started to snow!


Afterwards we zipped over to Tomorrowland to ride on Space Mountain,


spin around with Buzz where I stunk, as usual,

and then enjoyed a grand circle tour of Tomorrowland on the People Mover

And I couldn't go to the MK and not go on my favorite...

Well, maybe not my favorite, but such a classic and I do love it ❤
And Allie got her name in lights...

I've had kind of a bad week this past week. First, my DS left for Basic Training on Monday He joined the US Army Reserves and is now gone for 4-5 months. We had a big party for him last Saturday and then on Monday a small group of friends came over for an impromptu send off, which was really sweet.

Such a hard time for mommas....it is bittersweet really. You are happy they are doing something they really want to do but sad cause you miss them so much.

So for those keeping count that's three broken things in one week…my heart, my phone, and my arm (not really broken). That's quite enough, don't you think?!

One bit of good news is that both mine and Allie's APs got the 1-month extension added so I will now be able to transfer the 9-day PH ticket back to Nicholas and include him on our park reservations for April. I have no idea whether or not he'll be able to come, but I want to include him, just in case.

That is great news!

Oh! One last thing! I also made a reservation for February 11-16, 2021 at POP for Allie and me. We are thinking that maybe we can visit a couple colleges at that time, since none are allowing tours at the moment.
I have no idea if that trip will happen, but it's there, just in case! I made park reservations kind of based on which we would miss if we were busy touring colleges.

Do you think Allie would go to school in Florida? Is she grade 12 this year?

Hi, Kelly! You've been busy!! I had to work an insane number of hours at Hallmark the whole week before we left for WDW, so I was behind a few pages, but all caught up now! How awesome that you were able to ride Rise of the Resistance on opening day!! Even with limited park capacity and three boarding group release times, we STILL weren't able to get a boarding group to ride it this week SOMEDAY I'll get to ride!!!

Such a bummer that you weren't able to get a good nap in, but your party night looks like it was off to such a fun start!

I can't imagine how you must feel about Nicholas heading off to basic training!! I'm sure it feels sad and weird not to be able to talk to him every day, but you must also be SO proud to see him heading off to do something so selfless as serving his country.

I did that once. I was driving from Winnipeg to... probably Disney. I had stopped in Chicago at the museum and then started out on my next leg. Instead of telling me it would take about 6 hours (or whatever) to my next stop, it was telling me 14 hours!
I had somehow turned on "avoid highways".

So dumb!
