So I stayed there once with my boss when we got stuck over night in Dallas due to snow in Richmond. They upgraded both of us to these crazy suites. I had a dining room table for six. It was a weird experience but I remember having an amazing breakfast.

Which resort did you stay at?

West Wind Inn - we really liked it! They had a nice pool, free use of bikes and paddle boards, and no resort fees. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella every day for $20 - money well spent for us, less to lug out to the beach!

I was debating whether I'd write this or not, but it might be therapeutic. Emotions are all over the place. My kids lost their aunt today, their father's sister. She died tragically in Colorado, by drowning at her home. We don't know if there was a medical emergency that precipitated or what. As far as we know she was alone when this happened. Details are still sketchy until a medical review of some kind comes about.

Our whole family is devastated as she was definitely a favorite and was a great support when older daughter had her car accident about 2 years ago. She owned her own business and her staff became concerned when she didn't show for work. My ex with police eventually found her. Please keep us all in your prayers while our family grieves for a beautiful person.

Thank you, and all who responded either with likes, sad faces or comments. Yesterday I was completely drained. Last she was heard from was Sunday, and she was found in her hot tub on Tuesday afternoon. I've known her since she was 19 years old and she was a few years younger than me. She was so giving and so sweet. My son spoke to her last week to share his engagement with her. And she was so excited, calling back to get all the details.

My mind has gone everywhere on this as she was a healthy person, even to running some Pike's Peak thing - I don't keep track of athletic stuff, but she did it. I can't speculate right now, but I want to know what actually happened.

This was a lady who made trips to developing countries to do volunteer medical work - being vague so as not to identify, and was at the top of her profession and was so well respected in her field. She contributed to humanity, and many will feel her loss. Thanks for letting me share.

I've done this twice recently with Marriott and also in the past with Holiday Inn.

I call a couple of hours before check in, trying to time it to a bit before arrival, so that hopefully the person I'm talking to is the person checking people in.

Have had no problems. I really wish a name could be added on the website just for convenience. Probably don't have to but I always make sure they know it's a family member.

Has anyone been able to use the AT&T offer of $35 back after 2 purchases over $15 each, if you don’t have AT&T ?
We have Verizon so trying to figure If/how it could be used

I have done this offer twice in the past by purchasing from AT&T Wireless online. I don't have AT&T. The online store sells wireless accessories and such. Last time I did it they had Funko figures. I thought I was being clever buying them with plans to resell. I only sold one. Oh well. I still made a few bucks. Edit: I think I went through a shopping portal too

I don't think you need to worry about Aulani being open in 2022. I'm sure it will be.

I would just choose the trip you really want to do more and focus on paying that one down... Hawaii is paradise after all.

I just saw the cruise announcement. I was thinking there would be fall Europe in this batch (Greece) but I guess not. Disappointing for me.

I think Hawaii is likely to open up before cruises.

About missing school as a high school senior- I was an A student who was one day away from getting flunked out of English because I had missed so much school for college stuff, honors stuff and community events. I had no clue it would pile up like that. I would have been screwed (read: I would have lost my college acceptance and my ability to graduate high school on time) if I’d taken a week long vacation either semester of my Senior year.

I grew up in CT but swear I spent half my senior year in SW FL because I was so over the weather (Winter of 1994 was miserable in the NE). Still did well on my AP exams, graduated 3rd in my class. So I think it really depends. I was able to teach myself and stay on top of stuff. DD is the same way. DS would be a disaster.

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up just putting a deposit down on the 3 night. That way if we go DD would miss 2 days off school which isn’t too bad. I don’t know if it will happen but at least I have it locked in for now. We are planning Universal June 2021 and Aulani 2022 so if those both happen we will most likely cancel.
I am not so much worried about Aulani being open by 2022 but rather how will all the small businesses and restaurants hold up with no tourism. Ive read all the Aulani trip reports and watched all the videos and was really excited to go to Aulani but also really check out all of Oahu.

I just found an app this morning called Card Pointers that is what I've been looking for and I thought I'd share. You click on which cards you have, and then it tells you by category which of your cards offer the best rewards. It even has Siri integration so I can say "Hey siri - grocery" and it'll tell me which card to use.

Last week I applied and was approved for the Bonvoy card with the 100,000 bonus with a 3k spend. Chase just reallocated credit from one of my other cards with an absurdly high credit line, which is totally fine.

Also, I wanted to followup on my request to be added to the Dischurners group.

Thanks for the heads up on this. I had an app like this a few years ago. Then they stopped supporting it. Anything to keep all this straight! I do have a google sheet (@SouthFayetteFan - let's me check whilst on my phone) that I try to keep up on what card has what. But apparently my dumb butt was putting all my gas spends on my Freedom in NC vs my CSR. UGH! Luckily I was driving a Rav 4 and didn't use much gas, LOL.

The BF is off in Vegas for 4 days doing some testing/training. I BEGGGGGGGED him to take me with, but apparently he has to do this training at all kinds of weird hours (like flights at 3am). So home I sit.....grrrr. I am looking at trying to get him to go on one more trip back to NC with me before whatever version of school I'll be teaching starts.

And I'm eager (not patiently) awaiting my refi to move forward so I can get back into some MSR. Fall (October) is always my biggest sign up month. I normally plan it that way to easily hit spends w/ Christmas shopping. Is Chase still being mean w/ Biz cards? I have the CIP, but I was going to perhaps do another Biz (again, I have a legit biz, and business banking account w/ them for 16 years, etc). Otherwise, the other Chase I was looking at was the "free" IHG card (to beef up my IHG points again). Then I guess it's hitting things like the personal Citi AA card. MAYBE attempt try 34873 at the Barclay Biz AA(I have the personal). And when I can open up an Amex slot (it's 4 now, right?....like that's a solid thing these days?), I'll go for the free Hilton to round out all the hilton cards. Then MAYBE....MAYBE go down the Bonvoy route.

OOOOH, but maybe before all that.....The Sapphire cards. I got the CSR in Oct 2016. I think I got the points Nov/Dec that year. I can go for the CSP then Nov/Dec this year, right? Can I have both in play? I'm not looking to cancel my CSR since they dropped the AF to $450 this year I'll keep it one more. If that's the case, I'll probably do that before any of the above since I'm sitting at 4/24.

That's how it was for me. I know the first restaurant I tried worked (a local thai place) but I'm not sure all restaurants work. There's a schedule on Doc. Most of the weekly deals are pretty decent.

FYI, I just did it myself. There were about 7 restaurants I could choose from (all local, no chains). I used it to get "Detroit Style" pizza and bread. Figure I just got myself lunch and dinner, LOL. And since I've yet to use any of my CSR credit, it'll be free

You have to wait until 48 months from when you received the bonus to apply for another Sapphire product. From what I understand you can only have 1 Sapphire product, meaning you'd have to close the CSR prior to applying for the CSP. After 1 year you can upgrade the CSP to a CSR. Hopefully those more knowledgeable than me can confirm or provide more details. I also got the CSR in October, 2016 (bonus received December 14th).

I rejoined Sam's using the Valpak mailer. I thought you paid for membership then got $45 to spend but I wasn't charged for my membership. I'm not going to complain but I'm confused. I also just ate too many oreos and doritos (probably shouldn't buy in bulk even in individual sized packages). We are now under an advisory here not to travel to Florida plus 9 other states. Not prohibited, just advised and suggestions to test and quarantine after return if we do travel. Not an order though. Basically just use some common sense.

Here in NY there are now 34 states plus DC and Puerto Rico we have to do a mandatory 14 day quarantine if we travel from....probably would be easier to list the states we can travel to without quarantine
