The good news here is that you still have time since it would be much worse if you were standing in GE on your HS day and hitting this issue while trying to get a Boarding Group.

One more thing to try before running out to upgrade your iPhone. If you have memory hungry apps like FB or IG running go ahead and force quit them before opening MDE and trying the VQ button.

Also there are some rather lower cost iPhone options out there vs an iPhone 11/Pro/Max, the cheapest might be the iPhone SE 2020 version. It is the same as an iPhone 8 in size and uses Touch vs FaceID on the X and later but has the speed of an iPhone 11 and will support the new iOS 14 this fall.

Thanks for that. It's still crashing, and I'd be crushed if my phone is the reason we can't get a boarding group on this trip. I think I'm convinced I need a new phone and am going to go shop for one tomorrow. Thanks for the info on the SE--I read some comparisons and it sounds just about perfect for me. With the touch button it'll be much more like what I already so i won't have to learn a new navigation system, and the price point is much more reasonable.

Are the Riviera folks having the same issue/long lines to go to HS as the Pop folks are?

I would be interested in this as well as we'll be at Riviera a week from now. I am thinking of walking along the path to Caribbean beach to get in line before the Skyliner opens so that we don't have wait for it to start running at Rivieria and then transfer at Caribbean, which might save some time.

You don't want the family to blame you for everyone missing a chance at a BG for RoTR.

Another benefit of the older Touch vs FaceID in our current Covid-19 world is that it is much easier to use while using a Face mask to unlock your iPhone.

You can turn off Face ID on iPhones and use the touch. Pretty easy to do

Oh lol, I never even thought of FaceID with masks! And yes, my 8-year old star wars obsessed kids would murder me. Might still happen if I am too slow on the trigger to get in, eep!

They can both be ridden as a single.

both are being loaded as single, single group, so no problems, have done them both as a single

You get to choose what position you want, and then all the other positions are put on "autopilot."

I agree with @SMRT-1 and @yulilin3 on the autopilot default setting but a reminder the autopilot settings with only a single pilot will often result a pretty damaged ship.

We will be visiting in November if all goes well. I have been watching youtube on boarding groups. Several videos had issues with trying for BG and it looks like everyone is not in the park , but they have been through the turnstiles. It said to make sure all members of the party are connected correctly. How do you do this? What does this mean? Can every one in the party be signed onto my account and be trying for a BG at the same time?

To check if everyone is tapped in correctly you can go ti a first experience team cm or first relations and check to see. The easiest way is just to make sure the light turns green when entering
And yes everyone in the party can log in to one mde and try at the same time
Make sure to read post 1 with all the tips

I have an iPhone 6 and the app is doing the same exact thing for me (crashing when I practice trying to join a boarding group).

If everyone’s not showing up when you are trying to get a pass, just add who you can and secure the pass first, then approach a Guest Experience CM to have the rest added to your party. They are allowing this right now since each group gets their own ride vehicle (as long as you don’t have more than 8 in your party.)

Had an issue today I've never seen before. I kept getting an error message that they couldn't confirm my selection. This was happening just after pressing the blue join button. It would go to the screen where you would normally pick your party but instead of seeing my friends/family there was a red overlay with the error message. I'd close the error and it was going back to the screen with the blue join button. Press that again and the problem occurred again. Happened three times and then the queue was closed. Anyone else see this before? Really hope this doesn't happen when trying for real later this month.

Search for "My Disney Experience" when the search returns matches, Click on the screen shots under the My Disney Experience, don't click on the "Open" button. Scroll down the screen until you see the "Information" section. Look for the "Compatibility" and it will show that your iPhone is compatible.

Mine & my DS showed compatible and still crashed.

Upgrade the phone's IOS version to the latest fixed the issue with the latest version of MDE. I can practice again for next day at HS!

So both my DH and I tried both times today and it was S.L.O.W. A lot slower than when I just practice myself. I know everyone says it doesn't matter but for us it did. We were both logged into the same account.
