Hey Disney, While Not Sailing, would you PLEASE...

Come up with a plan B for those days when currents don't allow you to dock. Twice I was on that cruise, for a total of 11 days, and I never got to the island once, even though it was RIGHT THERE every time.
Backup tenders? Something?
Personally, if the seas are too rough to allow porting, I wouldn't want to be trying to board tenders and travel into the port on them.

I would like to see some sort of engagement between DCL and Castaway Club members. Maybe some updates? Seems like we are in a void as far as communication goes. Some fun YouTube videos with DCL? Something, anything! :confused3

The one thing I think Disney as a whole has failed with is communicating with guests during the closure of the parks / DCL / Operations. They had a few maintenance people in the parks, and they had their communications and Public Relations teams working from home. They could / should have been sharing images and pictures, posting about the ships, scenes, trivia, anything they could to keep the community engaged. Instead we have been left to wonder, worry, speculate, question, etc.

That's just something the whole company did wrong.

So True, I agree with you. I wonder if the commercial that’s going to be shot in September by DCL, if that’s going to reflect the safety of the crew and passengers? Or a mask free commercial? I’m thinking mask with Beautiful smiling eyes.

Can they replace or retool the Golden Mickeys? Even WebmasterPete hates it.

One of my favorites. I skip Dreams, Twice Charmed. Never liked Hercules.

I wonder what the metrics show. Certainly they count attendance.

I'd like to see Cabanas as an actual buffet for dinner, although I know buffets might be a thing of the past now. Don't get me wrong, I love the dining rooms and the wait staff, but dinner can turn into a 2-3 hour event. Sometimes I don't want to have to sit down and be waited on. I'd like to just grab dinner and be on my way.

Or I'd like to see a freestyle dining option, but I do understand that's probably next to impossible with the rotating dining rooms.

I was thinking of things Disney could do while they are waiting for passengers to board their ships...things to make coming back to the ship more exciting, so I decided to start this thread.

Hey Disney, while you’re not sailing, could you PLEASE:

1. Revamp Pirate Night Menu
2. Have your cooks learn how to make a decent pancake. (All of the ones I tried were like hockey pucks.)
3. Make more different types of food available on lighter side menu/specialize them more for the themed restaurants

Clearly, I am food obsessed (especially when it comes to cruising). 😂

What are your “would you please” items?
Omg I agree with you wholeheartedly re. Pirate Night menu! On the other hand, when else would I dine at Palo😄?

I'd love for DCL to figure out a way to have something open 24hrs on the ships
For those of us who are early risers, or night owls.

Personally I'd love funnel vision to be 24hrs (no reason for it not to be, imo)
But it could also be the gym (or parts of it), a place where you could go sit down and grab a drink or a snack real late at nite or real early in the AM (Flo's, Cove cafe, O'gills) or even the jacuzzi in the adult area.

:worship:

YES! I have been beating this drum for a while. Quiet Cove pool/hot tub should absolutely be open 24 hours - only closing briefly sometime during the overnight hours for cleaning and maintenance. I always thought there should be a late-night movie on Funnel Vision. My idea was, with so many movies in the MCU, they could do a "Marvel @ Midnight" movie 3 or 4 nights. And if you have that, yes, Flo's (and Eye Scream) should definitely remain open until about 2 or 3am. They need other late-night activities such as trivia in O'Gills after the performers are done in the main lounge. Stop shutting down the entire ship after that performer/game show ends. There are a lot of people who would still like to do things, but the only option is to remain in the lounge while the DJ plays music at a insane level for the 4 people that stick around.

Same here. I would actually do away with Pirate night altogether. Its run it's course, and the menu does stink. And like you, I would however then have a hard time figuring out what night to eat at Palo.

Another one that votes for keeping Pirate night Menu just for the sake of having an easy-to-skip evening for Palo.

Thought of something else....while not sailing, they should bring back that old online Disney Cruise Adventure board-type game they had from (I believe) about 7 years ago to help people get their DCL fix.

See, we're just the opposite--I wish there was more early morning stuff as our kids are always waking us up at 6am and the ship pool and activities don't open up until around 8:30/9am. We basically just have the kids watch cartoons in the room while DH and I chill on the verandah and read a book. Then again, I imagine there are also probably night owls/late sleepers who wouldn't love hearing my kids and I plod along the corridors at 6am; just like I wouldn't enjoy getting woken up to groups of people returning to their rooms at 2am. So I think at the end of the day the way they do it is fair.

And there are a few of us who don't find the Pirate menu that bad. Although I liked the one before the current one more.
I must be in the minority, because I actually don't mind the Pirate menu
I know, the jerk chicken was pretty good! We haven't done palo dinner yet, but if we were to do it, would probably be on the first enchanted garden night--that menu always looks better to me on paper than it tastes when the food comes out.

May be just me...but I'm not going to be woken up by people in the hallways (but that's likely a product of living so close to JFK airport all my life). So no worries there.

And I agree that there should be things for you and your family to do at that early hour also. I only mentioned the Quiet Cove pool/hot tub in my other post, but I absolutely believe the other pools should also be open virtually 24 hours, and they can start showing movies on Funnel Vision 6 or 7am. If on Dream/Fantasy, Midship Detective Agency should be 24 hours (they can lower the volume on the speakers from 10pm-8am).
