News Round Up 2020

It will be interesting to see how the adjust buffet restaurants, and what exactly the 'monster feast served to your table' entails.
Back when we were going to Vegas this past April we had booked the Buffet (had points from the app Aaron was using) at the Wynn where we were staying at. They reopened that buffet in June I believe but essentially changed it to be full service but ability to reorder as much as you want (with an interesting 2-hour time period to do that). I wonder if for Disney's buffets if it will be just very large portions but with no chance to reorder or if it will be more like what I've read the Wynn is doing. I don't know truly how much food people were getting at the Disney buffets versus only getting some food and focusing more on ambiance/character dining aspects.

I've been thinking about this a lot (had several long car trips lately).

They absolutely cannot recast. It would be a mess and they just can't.

I know Shuri was the Black Panther in the comics, but I really don't think it fits her character in the movie. She is more of the Q to James Bond.

Disney/Marvel have so far gotten away without recasting a character. This is a tough place to be, as it would really difficult to just say "Oh T'Challa died here's the new Black Panther" Under other circumstances I would say just recast - but I'm not sure Marvel is going to want to do that. Perhaps the best way to do it is to have the movie start out with his death and show the world and Wakanda mourning. Then the plot could be around finding the next Black Panther while at the same time fighting against some outside force - though it would skirt around being very similar to the original movie. Maybe they could resolve the Black Panther decision by Act 2, and the third act is showing this person filling the leadership vacuum. to save Wakanda. I for one would like to see more of Wakanda.

I'm a party of 6, but with one under the age of 3. I can get into the Contemporary for $400 a night. Caribbean for $230. (2nd or 3rd week of Nov)

Better rates than what I had book for earlier this year. Still too expensive for a long vacation and reduced times, dining and attractions. I'd need a much cheaper package that included tickets to consider.

So .. everyone gets the discount now? That's cool, but odd .. why would they release it for a few days regionally and then expand it to everyone?

Did they "feel" the blowback from just offering it regionally?

More back to normal stuff! Yay!

I don't know if it's everyone. But it's one of those offers with a code.

Don't forget War Machine was recast from Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle long ago. Not a major major character but was a recast. I think this one is tougher all around though.

Hulk was recast too.

But it's easier when one was a side character in only 1 movie, and the pretty much everyone forgets the Hulk movie is technically part of the MCU.

Also different when it's done do to contract demands vs a death.

No way they recast T'Challa, but there will absolutely be a different Blank Panther, it's a mantle, not a person.

This is a hard spot for Disney. Black Panther had all the makings of a super-popular long-running franchise. I know they want to continue it, but I don't think they want to be disrespectful to Chadwick Boseman. I have to agree that they don't recast T'Challa, but they do continue the franchise in some way.

Let's remember that he was already sick when Black Panther was filmed. Sick, diagnosed and undergoing treatment. Family have released in their statement after his death that he was filming between treatments. While WE may not have known about his illness, Marvel/Disney did. And there was already a sequel planned knowing he may not live to make that film. I truly believe there has been a contingency plan in place all along.

For me? I would love to see Nakia or Okoye take up the Panther mantle, and Shuri become Iron Heart. But I think the powers that be aren't in a hard spot at all, Chadwick Boseman's death was a known likelihood and they had time to plan (with his input even) for what BP2 would look like knowing he probably wouldn't make the movie himself.

I'm sure there's a writer on their pile that can come up with a creative "pass the torch" storyline.
